[FRIENDS, you know who you are]

I've been thinking, for reasons, about that idea that you can tell a lot about a person by what their favorite song or book or whatever is. Usually songs and books. Those are things that have a tendency to be really personal to a person. And it can sometimes be surprising to see what comes up.

So, because I'm bored and can't sleep, what's yours? And because fair is fair, here are mine:

Book: House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielwelski
Song: Soundgarden - Black Hole Sun

Bonus round...

Movie: Hellraiser: Bloodline

Super bonus round...

Color: Purple (more amethyst and lilac than royal purple, but y'get the picture)

Ah, two out of three of those I did manage to pick. No, I cannot say I'm a pink or red man. They do just fine as far as colors go, but I could take or leave them and not be put out by them one way or another.

I'm a big fan of the jewel tones. So darker, richer colors. I can't say I don't like red, though, because I own six red flannel shirts, I must like it enough.

Either that, or you like flannel enough to not care about the color.

That could be it! I do own a lot.

I've heard good things about it.

You've gotta get them already worn-in because the process of wearing in flannel is a nightmare. It starts out stiff and you have to wash it ten times before it gets all soft and pliable. So skip the process and get it thrift.

I'll be sure to remember this if I decide to try flannel.

You should - try it, that is. I think you could pull it off.

I'll think about it. At some point I'll have to consider more clothes.

And no one goes shopping more than me and Klaus.

If I were to go with you, I would require copious amounts of coffee. I'm not saying you were asking or inviting me, just stating a fact should it ever come up.

We always hot the coffee shop before we go shopping. It's just how it works. Coffee and donuts and then clothes. I need the caffeine and carbs to fortify myself too.

That's good to know.
