I've been thinking about this for weeks and I know there are some people around here who might side-eye me when I say this, but I'm going to start SHIELD up here. I feel like this place could use a group of people to keep an eye on things and to keep an eye on everyone who has been dragged here against their will. If anyone is interested in joining, contact me.

Purely out of curiosity, hands up anyone who has a SHIELD in their world that's done at least one thing that breached the fundamental human rights of large groups of people or that was just plain incomprehensibly fucked up? Is it just me?

I could, but I don't think I will. SHIELD means something to me. I know others look at them as being evil. But not all versions of us were horrible.

I'm just thinking of you. If you have to explain to everyone who arrives out of... at least three or four different universes that you aren't evil, you just felt like naming yourself after an evil organisation, you're never going to have time to get that medical team named after the CIA off to the Middle East to fight polio.

If you can't even compromise on a name that obviously means some pretty horrible things for quite a few people you're just proving that it's little more than a self-centered ego-fueled project intended largely to fill whatever psychological hole you have from, I don't know, someone never giving you a gold star?

This isn't some self-centered ego trip. Wow, really? We're going there? You don't know me. This has nothing to do with me and whatever happened or didn't happen in my life. I just want to keep the city safe from anything horrible that might come our way.

She just seems to want to help so what's the harm in giving it a chance? Maybe it'll be different here. Granted I don't know it so maybe I'm just being optimistic but it's a different place entirely.

Personally I might have been fine with it before she started insisting that the name was more important than the number of people who are going to turn up here associating it with human experimentation and plans to change the fabric of reality to get rid of people they don't like. And Nazis, apparently. To be clear, they aren't Nazis in my world. Just Americans.

I was thinking, and I don’t mean to be rude, but I think some people may be reacting to the wording as well as the tougher of your organization? I don’t have any real experience with S.H.I.E.L.D. personally, but I did wonder if you meant you wanted to keep an eye on the people since there seems to be a lot of people with abilities. Couple that with someone asking questions about others with abilities, and it comes off so not how I think you meant. You sound like you want to help people! I read your comments. And I don’t know you to say you’re bad. I think it just comes down to people’s experiences and the confusion with the wording. But I do think you sound like you’re trying to help keep people safe, like how some of the others are! And if you and I can get pulled from our universe, and if a lot of others come from ours, I imagine the bad guys could, too. So teaming up with people who want to keep everyone safe isn’t a bad thing. I guess it’s just a mission statement thing st this point? I don’t know! Just a thought I had. I don’t know too much about this. I’m just a kid. But I thought I’d share since you seemed nice.
