I've been sitting in my 'bedroom' pretty much since I got here, trying to suss out what the ever-loving-FUCK is going on and I've got nothing but a grumbling stomach and a raging headache outta it. Is there like a pamphlet I missed?

I'll take that, a jam-filled Pączki, and a large coffee, thanks.

Precisely what is your problem with androids?

Why, got a personal investment in my answer?

I'll bite.

I mean, take your pick: Murder. Attempted murder. Rioting. Driving the economy into the shitter. I will admit, however, that the last one is really on capitalism and greedy executives chasing the bottom line.

That doesn't absolve the crimes committed by their products, though.

Humans are prone to exactly the same thing, detective. From what I've observed, most non-humans usually only act from a desire to protect themselves.

You wanna argue that those plastics were scared and only defending themselves you're free to do so and, in some cases, might even be right but that doesn't cover all of them. It doesn't stop what they've done from being illegal or harmful, or the need for them to be brought to justice.

I can and I would, but I'm afraid a further influx of opposition would not only be fruitless, but also alienate me further.

May I ask what your penal system considers justice for AI?

Good choice.

Unvarnished truth? They barely got rights and the ones they do have are a stop-gap at best and a polite fiction at worst. So the water's murky. There are arrests being made but the humans committing them aren't spending more than a few nights in a cell, if that, then let go with a stern {read: bullshit} warning to not do it whatever it was that got them caught again.

On the flip side, there's also no real consequences being pursued for any crimes having been committed by androids either.

So the cycle will continue until humans realize that integration was never as much of a silly throw-away, unattainable hope.

I don't really know how to feel about this.

Life's one big shit-smeared ouroboros, everything's bound to come around again.

Ambivalence is a pretty valid response. I go waffle between it and indignation. But hey, least it means we're both actively troubled by it and giving it some thought rather than denying opinions can and do change, for better or worse.

The general acceptance of multiples races, be they organic, techno-organic or just technological in nature, isn't as far-fetched as you might think it is.

But I have gained some appreciation for the actions of my ancestors.

It's inevitable, I can't deny that but right now I'm not at a stage where I'm prepared to care enough to rethink certain opinions. That's a headache for future me.

We've got a few of them here so at the very least I'd suggest trying to be polite.

Polite's pushing it. Avoidance is the name of the game if at all possible.
