Same reason you might choose to eat a BBQ chicken pizza.

Right now, data. I need to isolate the dimensional signature of this place and hammer out the most accurate way to get the ones for everyone's home realities. No point trying to build something that could actually send anyone anywhere until we know it's going to be able to use the location data.

Data banks. What type of data is stored? Solely audiovisual or are there environmental readings as well?

My synaptic drive will register the environment around me, temperature, atmosphere, threats and conditions of the area. I can provide them along with visual displays and readings.
