In light of current events, many residents may find themselves struggling with an overwhelming sense of anxiety and dread. Distressing and traumatic memories may reemerge.

The spike in cortisol caused by this stress may also cause physical symptoms to develop such as flu-like symptoms, insomnia, or frequent headaches.

Please do not feel the need to “tough it out” for these or any other symptoms. Help is available, free of charge, and completely confidential.

I am a licensed psychiatrist and psychologist and I will be at Ostrich's Villa Health Center if anyone requires assistance in processing their experiences. Or if they would simply like someone to talk to.

Please do not hesitate to contact me privately if the location hinders you from receiving treatment.

If this hypothetical patient still has difficulties sleeping, please encourage them to arrange for a visit with the doctor.

It can be helpful to address the underlying stressors. If you would like, we could arrange for an initial consultation to discuss these factors.

If not that should provide some immediate relief.

Nope. Last doctor drilled a hole in my skull. I'll be fine. This can't last forever

That is a horrifying thing to have experienced, and you’re wise to be wary of giving medical professionals free reign after that.
