You're thinking of Ellis Island. This is Manhattan.

I've never been to Manhattan before. I'm from Detroit.

Ellis is the one with the Statue of Liberty.

I've read about that in history books. Bring me your poor, etc. It was a long time ago and things have changed a lot.

Don't worry, it was never true to start with.

The principle was sound, they just forgot that humans were fallible.

More like they forgot that black and brown people are human.

Humanity exists in mysterious places. Humans can be both incredible and confusing in equal measure.

Liberty Island is where the Statue of Liberty is. Ellis Island is where the immigration inspection station was and the hospital.

They're both misused as rhetorical tools by people trying to bend the immigration system to their agenda, doesn't really matter if it's the same island or not.

It does matter. They're not on the same islands. If you're going to spout information, at least give the right information.

My educational history's rather patchwork, so I'm not overly stressed if getting the location of the Statue of Liberty wrong in a joke is one of the things that fell through the cracks. Especially when people come from so many different places. Maybe it is on Ellis Island in someone's dimension. Maybe it is in mine, even, I wouldn't know for sure.

All I'm saying is if you're going to tell someone something then find out the information from here or mention that what you know is from your own world (if it's different). The rest of it was your own opinions and that's fine.

Nothing outside of Manhattan seems to even exist in this dimension, but I'm looking forward to seeing you preface everything that relies on the assumption of a straightforward fact with a disclaimer that it might not apply here.

It doesn't matter what I say, so I will choose to end this conversation now.

You could have chosen not to start it. But I apologise that my joke contained information that isn't true in your dimension.

It's text. It didn't read like a joke. Sorry if I misunderstood it.
