Seems to me like there's a whole lotta much to do about nothing right now.

Okay, I've been spending the last two days outside and on my broom and now that I check this network I see there's a lot that I've missed out on. So... I'm caught up to speed... Anyone bunking at the Stark Tower? Now that there's possible impending doom upon us I've started to feel like I've got that "party like its your last day" groove kicking in. I can't be the only one that's interested in taking a few shots of whiskey before d-day happens and the gate opens up and unleashes Merlin knows what.

I've comprised a list of patrol teams for the time being, - I expect each of you to put aside any potential differences and do what is necessary to defend this city during times of escalated activity regarding the supernatural beings. These are of course, subject to change but I encourage you to think of the mission at hand. As for further volunteers, I will always accept them.

Major Kaidan Alenko was asking about spells to protect a building. Do you know any of those? Can you teach me so I can help, too?

And can you also teach me how to Apparate? I have my broom now, but it would be handy to know.

Alright, so, here's what I've got on that portal-- or gateway, as the books call it. The short story is that the portal itself is an opening for a god to pass through. It takes a hell of a lot of juice to build up a door like that, which is why we're having trouble with power. And that's worrying enough in itself, but once it's finished draining our power, whatever it is that's created the portal-- or whatever's been summoned by it, depending-- will come through. A god, presumably, or something with god-like power. I guess there's also the possibility that a deity will leave through the portal, but that might not actually be a better case scenario, depending on what it might take along with it and what it would leave behind.

So what we're looking at, probably, is an enormous ecological shift, in terms of the magical properties of the land and its populations. The kind that they often name historic 'ages' after, like the Stone Age, Bronze Age, and Iron Age (or to use examples from this particular world, the Fire Age, the Exalted Age, and the Blessed Age). I don't know about you all, but if this is what they call the 'Blessed' Age, then I'm not sure I like where this is going.

On a related note, does anyone know anything about a person named Don or where I might find him/her?

I've become far too comfortable sitting around doing nothing, waiting. It's atrocious and I'm ashamed of myself.

What I wouldn't give for a proper Potions kit.

If anyone has any suggestions for how a witch might make herself a bit useful, I'm all ears. Or, eyes, rather, considering.

For those inquiring about brooms a while back, I have a prototype ready to test! Harry and Jamie, if you're both still interested, feel free to meet me at [this location] in Central Park sometime! I figure the open air and soft, cushy grass would make a better testing ground than anything over hard floors or concrete. Just in case.

The look right now isn't polished or anything because I want to make sure the charms and spells work correctly first. But I'll gladly take design tips and take into account personal wishes for presentation! Just lemme know when you're gonna stop by. I'll be out here like, all day. And probably tomorrow too... and maybe the day after.
