Who: Nyx Ulric and Tony Stark (Big).
What: Nyx is bringing his droid for a checkup.
Where: Tony's place.
When: Monday Afternoon.
Rating: A for Awesome. (Low)

Well, BB15 was acting a little slow. Not like he wasn't there, but like just moving around slower. Something was wrong, and every single time he asked the droid what was wrong, well he said things no one should ever hear. That droid and it's mouth. Now though, he had just scooped up the heavy droid because it was easy. He stopped moving all together and couldn't escape the Glaive.

"C'mon." Nyx started while the droid beeped and whistled in protest. "You gotta see the doctor." That doctor was Tony. A quick message from his phone to Tony letting him know he was stopping by, and he was off. He was insanely glad that he didn't live far from Tony, considering this droid was heavier than ever living hell - but he was worth it. Once he arrived at Tony's he set the droid down taking a deep breath. "Hell, BB." He looked down. "You should shed some weight." He laughed being met with a whistle of aggression. "Oh calm down, Tony is going to have you up and running in no time.

Knocking on the door he waited for the man to arrive. Looking over the droid, Nyx sighed. "You're just too active for your own good." Hearing the door open, Nyx looked up to Tony. "Fearless leader, I am honored by your presence." Nyx joked standing up again. "Thanks for seeing us. The poor guy can't move." Even now, BB was trying to escape and unable. "See? It's just sad to watch."

Tony's workshop might as well have been his home, since that's where he so often spent his time. But it was also absolutely the best place for some 'bot repairs. Tony opened the doors for them - or, well, swished his hand to the side in order to let FRIDAY know that she ought to be doing it, and the door slid open.

"Hey, you," he said -- and it might have been to the droid, or maybe Nyx himself. "Are we still doing that fearless leader thing?" He asked, pulling a face that was somewhere between chiding and amused. But this really was the best place to have come. DUM-E, U, Butterfingers and ANGR-E could and would all attest to that.

FRIDAY might give a little sass, though.

"C'mon then, up and over here and let's get that ball moving, again."

The door slid open and Nyx was almost impressed. Hoisting up the bot, BB responded to Tony with a loud incredibly sassy sounding beeps and whistle. Regardless of if they were here for help or not, the ball droid was still just kind of an asshole.

"I appreciate you helping my dude here." Nyx commented setting the droid down where Tony directed. "I don't think I would know the first step on getting this guy up and going again." He laughed nervously while BB15 beeped and whistled loudly still trying to escape from the two humans.

"I don't think he's had much good experience with maintenance." Nyx commented sullenly. He remembered the filthy shop keeper he bought him from. The sad shape he kept the droids and how he treated them. Sure they were just mechanical bits and pieces... but they were living in their own right. Should be treated as such.

That was alright, really. Assholes were kind of Tony's sort of people. Or bots? Whichever. The point was, ANGR-E wasn't named that for no reason at all. Speaking of, the little mouse droid was beeping too, an answering call to BB-15 and lord only knew what they would talk about.

Well. Nyx. Nyx would know. And Tony wasn't exactly bad at translation either -- and had a little help from FRIDAY as well.

"Hey, it's no problem. We'll make this completely painless. It's probably just a matter of cleaning out the dirt and dust, you know?" He patted the driod on his roundest part and plopped himself down on the floor to be at the right eye level.

Nyx watched the droids carefully as they went back and forth, but even at the speed they were going Nyx was having trouble keeping up. There was something to be said with learning the language, but knowing it as well as a pair of droids was something else. Nyx just shook his head.

"I don't know actually." The soldier hovered just out of distance of personal space of Tony. "I'd like to know a bit though, to be honest." Nyx sighed a bit looking at Tony. "I hate having to come bother you for such menial tasks when I'm sure you have more important things to do." He paused thinking to himself a moment. Frankly he just hated being annoying or at least feeling s if he was.

"I suppose I haven't asked in a bit, but are you running low on anything?" Nyx inquired looking around his space. The much more impressive space.

"Hey, it's no trouble," Tony scoffed. If he was being honest, he sometimes liked the company. There wasn't much in the way of getting out around here and Tony fell into the habit of being solitary more often than he probably should have. His only saving grace was that he had a family yo go home to these days. Which was -- obviously great. But it didn't mean that he didn't work long hours, too. "But if you wanna learn, pop a squat, I'll teach you some basics." He knew Nyx was a quick learner so this would be painless.

Except, maybe, for BB-15's filthy mouth.

Still, he went on ahead, talking through what he was going to do before he did it, and then doing so with exaggerated movements both to teach and to ease the little droid's nerves.

"I could always use scrap metal. The sturdier the better, but I can work with about anything now that I've got a proper working space. Oh -- yeah. Lookit all this dirt," he said, pointing to a spot beneath a panel.

Well, if Tony needed company, Nyx was down to be that any time that it was needed. Nyx genuinely liked the man. It did help that when he was in need, Tony offered the help that was needed, and with no judgement. So, the soldier would be there any time he was asked. He was good for it.

Doing as he was instructed, Nyx popped said squat and watched the basics. Which was all that was needed, because Nyx wanted to make sure his little droid friend was cared for. Despite the protests of the little astro droid. Which were quite foul mouth at that. BB-15 really needed to learn some manners.

Someday at least.

Scrap. Nyx could do that, but then his eyes went to all the dirt, then to the little head on the droid that was also trying to look at what Tony was pointing out. "See, BB. You need to be more careful." Which Nyx was countered with beeps that were quite rude, and possibly about his mother. Naturally. "Thanks Tony." Nyx commented as he watched on how the man cleaned up the dirt.

Nah. Tony liked that the droid had a mind and a mouth of his own. He didn't really know a lot about the worlds that they'd visited back then, not really, but it'd all seemed futuristic enough and he was glad that AI was definitely a thing, and obviously a pretty big deal. There'd been 'bots for just about everything running rampant.

"It's not really about being careful -- see. BB's got parts that open in order to use tools and all that so there's no way it's going to be airtight all the time. This is nothing that a little usual maintenance can't fix." And instead of completely doing, he figured he might as well talk his way through showing Nyx how to do it.

"And you?" He asked even as he worked, because feelings weren't things you made a big deal about, obviously. "Doing fine?"

"Nah, he needs to be a little more careful." Nyx laughed. "Like avoid mud puddles for example." Nyx offered his assistance where it was need, asked questions about the little bits and pieces that he didn't understand, and all the well focused on his lesson.

"He sure does." Nyx commented. "Without him, I don't think I could fix half the items I brought back that needed a little repair here or there. He's quite good for it." He shrugged. "Probably cake walk for the little guy compared to fixing space ships." Which the droid commented about the ease of his tasks of late with a long whistle. "I just appreciate you showing me, so I can make sure I can keep the little guy in good operating order.

Then the question about himself. How was he truly? "I'm good." He commented thinking about it. "I think I'm actually good." There was a shrug. "I just focus on what's in front of me, and what I can do really. Try not to stress about it otherwise." He glanced, down some, not wanting to comment about the glow in his chest. "You good?" Nyx's gaze went to the side of his Tony's face.

Sometimes little things were more challenging than big things --like here, in this place where they'd started off with nothing at all, it'd been kind of rough finding even the tools to build anything -- to fix a roof whatever it was that they'd been doing back then.

It was probably the same for the droid, in some ways. But Tony only smiled because, it was mostly just kinda cute. To see Nyx caring so much about his friend. Tony was a sucker for this kind of thing, he really was. He loved his 'bots like they were his kids, had built most of them from the ground up and he just... he just liked it, okay?

Nyx's concept of just rolling with the punches and doing his best was about as much as they could all hope for -- although Tony did prefer to try and plan a little more than all that. He'd be a terrible futurist if he didn't. But this place didn't make it particularly easy. It wasn't hard to see that Nyx was avoiding looking at the glow -- that was fair. It'd sort of appeared and Tony had dipped out of any spot light he'd been in for about a week or so in order to...well. Get over it, more or less. But it was there, and it was obvious. He didn't quite put his hand over it. "Me?" He asked, a little surprised though he didn't know why. "Yes. You know. Sometimes."

Well, there was a part of Nyx that wishes he was here at the start. Able to help get everything going. It just was the sort of guy he was, in wanting to help and being disappointed that he wasn't able to help when it was most important. Not that what he did wasn't, but he was a glutton in needing to help people.

It wasn't that he just cared for the lone bot, but he cared for everyone. Especially those who needed someone to be available to help where they couldn't help themselves. No one should be stuck in a situation where they are left helpless. That was one thing he saw too often in the war with Niflheim back home. So, Nyx did his best to help those around him. From bots, to pokemon, to Tony, to the Norse god who would threaten to stab him.

Nyx just cared. It was a curse truly as much as blessing.

That was basically. Tony hit it right. Nyx just was floating thing to thing. Nothing to plan in his mind because what more was there for him? Dead from his homeland, in a land where the dead came back - Nyx just existed. So, having the little guys around plus the one big boy, Snorlax, it gave Nyx some purpose. "I get that." Nyx commented relating on his own degree. Then he just couldn't help it anymore, truly.

"What's with blue glow." Subtle Nyx, subtle.

Not subtle at all. Not even a little bit. But Tony couldn't really blame Nyx for being curious -- most people didn't just glow underneath their shirts, and Tony never had before. So, yeah. Questions were practically fair.

"What's with the third degree," Tony returned, because he could never really help himself. But he undid the top button of his shirt anyway, pulling it aside to show off the metal, bright and blue alongside some obvious scarring. "A gift, from the past." His tone was sarcastic but in a careful way. "Sometimes things just the tendency to show up here, you know?"

Subtlety was for those who couldn't articulate an appropriate question. Nyx, was not that. When the Glaive needed answers, he'd seek them out. For granted, he would have accepted Tony telling him to shove off with his question. It was only the right thing.

So when Tony made his comment, Nyx slowly nodded and then he was being shown the glow. It was strange, that was for sure.

Then the pieces clicked. The lab. The metal hardware. Lab, good - Blue glowy thing, bad. At least that was what he assumed. "Seem there was a fair amount of that going around earlier." Nyx commented looking away. That box of Crowe's still sat in his room staring him down. "This place... just does what it wants it seems."

Subtlety was for people who could work their way around a conversation without bulldozing it. It wasn't for Nyx. Then again, it was rarely for Tony either, unless there was something he was really looking to gain without making someone mad. Luckily, since the two of them were similar in that regard, no one ended up being offended here. They were just on the same page.

"There was a wave of it," Tony agreed wryly. "It's not like I haven't lived with it before. It's a literal pain some days, but it's saved my life in the past. And in a pinch it's the best power source in this place." Which may come in handy some day -- that was a distinct possibility. "I take it you got something you would have preferred not to have, too."

See. Also not subtle.

Bulldozing? How dare you! Nyx didn't bulldoze! Okay he did. There wasn't much for the political knack in Nyx regarding the finessed sugar coating or tact. The Glaive just dove head first into what had to happen and get done what was needed to be done.

When he put the ring on. Of course he'd do it, and not Lunafreya.

"There was." Nyx glanced around the shop. "My place isn't as big as your." He commented. "My room turned into my arpartment back in Insomnia. Furniture, clothes, the whole nine." His face darkened. "Along things and stuff from someone's death." He shook his head. "It was a dark point, that I'm working past."

He definitely bulldozed. But it was okay. So did Tony, sometimes. It was just the way of things. Some people were more careful with words -- but if neither of them had to be, why bother? They were friends, after all.

"Most places aren't as big as mine," Tony noted, not smug so much as pointing out a fact -- and did not really seem to care to elaborate. "But that seems to be a running trend for the people here, doesn't it. Dark points." No one here was what any one of them could consider normal. "Death is an ugly business."

There was a pause from Nyx while he stared at BB-15 who promptly looked right back at him. There was a whistle and beep from the droid, and Nyx just smirked. "Yeah yeah." He glanced to Tony.

"There has been a whole lot of darkness overshadowing this place of late." He commented thinking about it. "Why can't this place just spawn a fruit basket on everyone's door step? Or a puppy. Or I don't know. Something good without any stipulations?" Nyx was frustrated to say the least, but as frustrated he was it vacated just as quickly.

"Death is very ugly business." One that Nyx was quite familiar with. "But if there was peace, and perfection..." Nyx sighed. "Then it'd be very unrealistic."

"I don't know," Tony said after a beat. "I've been given the theory that this place runs off of our own expectations in some way. Obviously, I have no real proof to back that up, but if it were the case, it'd explain a lot." Sure they all wanted nice things. But none of them really expected that, and always planned for the worst. Self fulfilling prophecies seemed right up their alleys.

"We only think it'd be unrealistic because we haven't seen it," Tony corrected mildly. "I like to think that peace is something achievable. I'd like to see it in my life time."

There was a thoughtful look from Nyx as he chewed on the theory for a moment. Well that could fit, seeing Nyx wanted to see this place thrive and he did his part to help it, he wasn't rewarded with negative aspect? But what explained the box of Crowe's possessions? Equal exchange? Good thing, bad thing? Then that could explain the kid that at the thing called a flamingo? Did something to cause bad, was greeted with something to remind him against his transgression?

"This place is odd, and often makes little sense." Nyx commented. "Have a place of people who always plan for the worst because they've dealt with the worst, causes some serious..." There was something there. "We're all very wound tight. We just expect bad things." Nyx commented.

"I would love to see peace." Nyx commented. "But people are inherently selfish, and those who are on the side of good are outnumbered by the bad." Nyx sighed. There was Nyx's half empty glass. "So, I don't believe peace is overly attainable. Someone will always want something more than the next or something that isn't theirs or even to do harm on another for being slighted." Nyx frowned.

They did. They all expected bad things, and planned for worse things. No one here was only planting flowers and decorating their houses. They all had worries, concerns. Dark pasts. It just was what it was, and even if they didn't want it to, it was possible that it shaped the place around them. At least a little bit.

It was a bit too much on the magical side of theories, and Tony was loathe to go there, but that didn't mean it hadn't crossed his mind a few times.

"Well," Tony said with a sigh even as he shut BB-15's paneling. "I'm not mistaking peace with a Utopia. Perfection isn't attainable." He paused for a beat before smiling lopsidedly. "Even if I come pretty damn close."

It was second nature for most of them. This was something, Nyx could accept. Frankly, Nyx was happy not fighting in any more wars, and finally having his life. The darkness and depth of his past, likely to haunt him and his motivations, but he could try and avoid it, right? At least that what he wanted to believe he was doing.

BB-15 the moment that the paneling was closed, looked around and wheeled right of the table landing with a thud and rolling about like nothing even was wrong. Beeps and whistles sounding off as it took off examining the new area. Tony's comment about perfection did bring a loud laugh from Nyx.

A light pat on his shoulder. "Yes, Tony. You are damn near perfection embodied." Nyx confirmed. "Not that I'd ever admit it."
