Who: Carol Danvers and Peter Parker
What: Showers, Beer, and Singing!
Where: A random convention somewhere
When: Wednesday evening
Rating:Lowish? Maybe swearing?

Carol had been itching to go exploring through the doors for days now, but there had definitely been some hesitancy since talking to Tony about what might be on the other side. From what she'd seen over the communicator, it looked like people were coming and going freely from the same strange place. Whatever this "convention" was, there was plenty to report back. And she had to admit it, curiosity was getting the better of her.

She was dressed down for this, electing to leave her uniform at home. Even if she ran into trouble, she figured she could handle it. Unless there was a sudden alien attack or something. What were the odds? Right?

Carol didn't hesitate much, opening the door and stepping into...well, what was this place? It was clearly a large overly lit and crowded convention hall, but Carol wasn't really ready for just how big it all was. She was used to the idea that comic "conventions" were just something very geeky people did in dingy and dark comic store basements. This was entirely different. All around her people were wearing costumes, t-shirts with the faces of superheroes on them, and...wait, was that Rogers? No. Just some 17-year-old acne-ridden kid in some serious cosplay.

It reminded her too much of Los Angeles.

"Okay, maybe this wasn't a great idea..." She was considering going back through the door when something caught her eye. A comic book stand with a familiar looking face drawn on a large vinyl banner. "Oh, you've got to be kidding me..." Tony was right. Carol was pretty sure that it was the older version of him drawn on the banner and as she came closer, she saw various comic books ranging from "Iron Man" to "Thor". Curiously, she reached for an Avengers comic to start flipping through it, smirking when she realized that whatever this place was, it was definitely nothing she'd seen before.

She made a weird face when he did the snapping gesture, clearly not familiar with that one. "Oh, we are definitely doing shos. In fact." She raised a hand to order the first round of JD shots from the creepy bartender before turning back to Peter. And it was her turn to almost spit out her drink with the radioactive spider story.

"Sorry- a spider bit you?" Okay, she couldn't talk. She'd been impulsive enough to shoot an unknown engine core and watch it blow up in her face....so there was that.

"So you dress up in red spandex and run around the city being a hero. Were you a soldier before? Police officer?"

It wasn't that she was trying to be offensive, but Carol was trying to figure out why a man would decide to make this his career. She had trained to be a soldier. So had Rogers. And Tony...well, he just had a bunch of tech and too much time on his hand (she assumed). Peter seemed different.

Peter couldn't help but laugh when Carol ordered them a round of shots, oh this was going to be a mess but it was exactly the kind of mess Peter probably needed to get into these days.

"Uh... yeah?" He was actually a little surprised, sure maybe Carol didn't know him, know him, but it had been a while since he'd come across someone who didn't know Spider-Man at all. So that was something. "Yeah it was you know a whole thing, I was on a field trip and there was this spider." He shrugged it was crazy maybe, he knew how it sounded, it wasn't the first time he tried to explain it. It just got a little weirder every time was all.

"I was a high school student actually." Peter shrugged, he had never really had the background to become a hero, he was a nerd while he'd been in school still, far more interested in books and chess club than he was in most other things, until one day his whole world had been turned upside down. And even then his first thought hadn't been to save the world, or the city or anything like that, it had been to change his own life for the better without much thought for others.

And then he'd lost Uncle Ben and everything had changed. "I just - I was given these powers and I can help people with them, after a while it felt wrong not to do that, you know?"

"A field trip? Where the hell were they taking high school kids that radioactive spiders were a risk???" She handed him a shot after putting her beer on the counter and picked up her own as she listened.

But something in the way his face changed made her realize it was a lot more serious than that. Carol knew that look. Her smile faded just a little and she nodded. "You're right. That's how I feel, actually. Someone has to do the right thing." She raised her shot glass in a sort of toast before downing it and putting it on the counter, reaching again for her beer and nodding for the bartender to bring another. It couldn' hurt, right?

"I left the only family I had left to go save the universe..." She almost sounded like she regretted it. Almost. "It felt wrong not to." She finished her beer and sighed. Carol was conflicted. She knew that Maria would understand, but so many years had now passed and Monica would be all grown up. Yeah, maybe drinking wasn't such a great idea. Carol let the thought linger a moment before she reached for the next shot.

"So this place has karaoke?"

"To be fair the radio active spider was a potentiality that no one was prepared for." Peter said but shrugged. "I dunno I was part of a special program, science based so we got a lot of opportunities to do things that the average student might not get to do. And one of those things was checking out a particle accelerator - the spider just happened to be around and was exposed to some manner of radiation and then decided that I looked tasty."

What teen wouldn't want to be a superhero, especially in the world he lived in, with the Avengers and other heros running around saving the world. Why shouldn't he have been able to do the same thing? One thing Peter had learned over the last twenty-two years though - things were rarely ever that simple. He raised his glass with hers, toasting to the memory of Uncle Ben that had started him down this path. "It's easy to get caught up sometimes, in the sort of crazy things you can do, I was suddenly so strong, I didn't need my glasses anymore, I had these amazing reflexes. My life was going to be completely different regardless of what I did with these gifts. But I think eventually you either get to the point where you realize that doing the right thing, saving those who can't save themselves, that's all that really matters. Everything else? It's just a distraction, or I guess maybe you go bad. There's not many directions to go once you find out you've got superpowers."

He could see she understood that, even before she admitted that she'd left her family to save the universe. "It always helps when I think of it in smaller terms." He told her. "I don't save New York for New York itself, but I save it for my family," Even with Uncle Ben and Aunt May both gone now he still did it for them, and MJ - she was still there even if they weren't married anymore. She would always be his family. "I save it for the guy down at the deli who always makes the best chopped cheese sandwiches. And the little old lady who always gives me a fortune cookie when I help her find her way home." So maybe it meant that he lived a life scared of what it meant to get close to people but he saved the world so those people he cared about could keep on living their lives.

"Yeah," Yeah that's what they needed a couple more drinks and a song or two because they were heading down a path that would very quickly pass up maudlin and veer right into down right depressing. "Right over there, you just flip through the options and pick which song you want and go for it. I might need another drink before I'm ready for that."

Carol listened. He had a pretty good perspective on it, and she couldn't think of a better way to explain why they did what they did. For her, it was the sight of that little Skrull girl being reunited with her father and the realization there were so many more like her orphaned because of her own actions. It was the thought of Monica growing up happy and safe and able to do what she wants in life. She'd had hundreds of experiences like that over the years, and they kept her going. Even when she had to survive with just the memories of home.

But yeah...this was getting depressing and it was probably a good idea to think about something else. Like singing very badly and drunkenly into a microphone in front of strangers.

"Oh, awesome!" She downed the second shot and finished her beer before going for the book. Carol flipped through straight to the band she was looking for and grinned as came back over with the book, ready to tell the bartender what she was going to do- well, what she was going to drag Peter into. "Another round! And can we put this one on?" She showed the bartender the number and he smirked and nodded.

"You sing, right?"

We have to go back, we have to go back, we have to go back. Peter chanted that thought to himself a few times because he could already tell he was going to be getting drunk and well he'd need all the help he could get to remember that they had somewhere to be eventually. They weren't actually here to just get drunk and sing their pain away - not that they weren't going to do that too it seemed.

Carol for her part was eager though, so Peter could hardly fault her for that and watched as she flipped through the song list before she found one she wanted showing it to the bartender and getting ready for her big musical debut.

"Me? Oh uh-" Peter took his second shot and then nodded yeah he could do this, he could sing, maybe not well but you know he had talents that had nothing to do with spiders.

"Yeah, yeah sure I sing. You know sometimes." He added, finishing his beer because he needed all the help he could get for this too, it was turning out to be an exercise in stepping outside his comfort zones. He waved for a second beer from the bartender, "But you know you go ahead and do your thing and I'll catch up."

She just looked pleased with herself when he stumbled through his answer. Poor bastard had no idea what he'd signed up for. It wasn't that Carol was so much an extrovert, but this brought back memories of drinking, playing video games, and just having a good time with her best friend. Peter was nothing like Maria, but that was okay. He was going along with it and Carol appreciated the fact he hadn't run just yet.

"They don't have Guns N' Roses where you're from?" She really hoped that wasn't the case. Otherwise, he was going to have a very hard time keeping up. She was just excited to find it here (even if she wasn't as excited about the rest of the outside world in this universe).

Lucky for them, most patrons in the bar were busy chatting to one another or drinking happily in their various cosplays or geeky attire, and Carol and Peter hardly stood out. That is until the familiar guitar riff of Sweet Child Of Mine start over the loudspeakers and Carol grabbed Peter's arm to tug him toward the stage. "C'mon, I'm not going up by myself!"

She grabbed the mic, looking at Peter and daring him to try to run away. As the words came up the screen, she didn't even need to look at them, but she did anyway just in case. "She's got a smile it seems to me
reminds me of childhood memories, where everything was as fresh as the bright blue sky.
"

Peter had a feeling that Carol was the sort of person who tended to jump first ask questions later, and somehow she managed to inspire that same sort of foolhardiness in others because there he was ready to do karaoke with her without much more encouragement than what she'd given him already.

"They have Guns N'Roses I'm not sure people still sing them for karaoke though." He said with a laugh, but he knew enough that he felt like he could probably stumble through it without embarrassing himself too much - as much as any grown man drunk in spandex singing Guns N'Roses could keep from being embarrassed.

And he was definitely being pulled up with her when the start of her pick began and oh god this was really happening. On the things that he'd imagined today would include this had not even begun to enter the galaxy of possibilities he'd considered. But he didn't run, because Peter never ran... well he ran sometimes you know it's part of what he did, but that wasn't the important thing. He wasn't running away was the important thing.

Now and then when I see her face, She takes me away to that special place, And if I'd stare too long, I'd probably break down and cry.

This seemed like a song Carol knew well, like she didn't really need the lyrics to get it right - Peter though, he was glad for the help as he did his best to keep up.

Carol was definitely that kind of person. She tended to rush into danger, and it often left her bruised and better. But she always got back up no matter what, and she had learned not to regret that instinct (even if it will probably be what gets her killed one day).

When he started singing, her smile grew wider. She was definitely not disappointed by his attempt (even if it was off pitch, it was fun). The chorus came and she made sure he was close enough to belt into the mic with her.

"Oh, oh, oh, sweet child o' mine! Oh, oh, oh, oh
sweet love of mine!
."

By now, they were getting a few cheers from patrons who had turned to watch the act and a couple had even started videotaping (not that Carol realized they were doing so as they held up their phones).

The song continued and she did her best to help him along, laughing as poor Peter stumbled and finally breaking down the last bits of the end chorus before they had people clapping around them for the performance. Okay, not her best, but definitely worth it.

Carol hit Peter on the shoulder, maybe a little too hard. "I knew I liked you." She stepped off the stage and back towards the drinks she'd left, taking a seat again as another poor man dressed in a Luke Skywalker outfit took to the stage.

Okay yeah he'd had enough to drink and it had been a long time since he'd done anything like this, so Peter managed to have a pretty good time as they worked their way through the song, he stumbled along a little bit more than Carol did who looked to be in her element as she sang the words.

He was pretty sure they made a bit of a sight, Spider-Man singing along with Captain Marvel, yeah Peter could absolutely understand why people had started filming once they really got going. It was enough to make him glad he'd taken those shots before they'd gotten up on stage.

When they finished, Peter took a bow - people were clapping, that meant he was allowed - and laughed when Carol hit him, wincing a little at the strength behind it but he was loose enough that it wasn't too bad. "You're not so bad yourself." He'd made a pretty poor first impression, Peter was very aware of that, but he'd managed in typical Parker fashion to bring it back around again as they made their way back to their drinks just in time for someone else to take the stage after them, but Peter doubted even the Jedi Master could put on a better show than them.

"So you've done that before." He said shaking his head when they sat down again, Guns N' Roses was an interesting choice and it was the sort he could only see someone picking if they had a long history with the song.

"Me and my best friend used to go to karaoke nights back when we were rookie pilots. Guns N' Roses was my favorite band, and so it's an easy go-to." She smiled at the memory and took a drink from the fresh beer the bartender had brought her. She knew she should probably slow down, but alcohol typically didn't affect her the same way it would affect a normal person and it took a little more to get her buzzed. Plus, it was kind of fun showing off, if she really had to admit it.

"What about you? You looked pretty comfortable on that stage." Okay, he really didn't. "You're not a bad singer, either, Parker. I could almost hear you hit that note."

She couldn't help herself. Carol was sarcastic enough without alcohol, but the beer seemed to bring it out in her. Another person snapped a picture of them and Carol turned and gave them a glare. The girl quickly waved and disappeared back to her table with her friends.

"Why do I feel like everyone here knows us? I mean, it's weird enough that there are books with us in them, but these people are obsessed."

"Aaaaand it all makes sense now." Peter declared when Carol admitted to having done the song with her friend in the past, so it was something she absolutely had down after practicing it with her friend before. "Guns N'Roses was your favorite band though? That's a shocker, really - of everything I know about you that seems like the craziest thing I've learned."

Peter laughed and took another drink of his beer and shrugged. "Look if I was going to do it I was going to give it my best shot, I'd never claim to be anything like good but you know trying counts for something, especially in karaoke." He paused for a moment and took another sip. "And I maybe had a bit of a dramatic phase in my early twenties that stuck with me a bit." He tacked on at the end muttering against the rim of his glass, not trying to be unheard completely, but you know some things were better left in the past, and his experimentation with emo bangs and dancing in the street was one of them. But it did lend him a certain amount of theatricality that stuck with him.

It was weird having his picture taken, well no that wasn't quite right, it was weird having his picture taken by someone who wasn't himself. Especially in the Spider suit, that's why Peter Parker had been able to land the job at the Daily Bugle, he'd been the only one to get a decent picture of Spider-Man, but here he was just sitting in a bar wearing the suit, sure the mask was up so he could drink, but he was in the suit and people were just snapping his picture like they knew who he was beyond just some guy wearing a costume.

"Maybe we're very popular in those books?" He suggested. "You know, like the favorite characters of all the fans, it's you and me."

"Really? Guns N' Roses is one of the best bands ever! At least where I come from. Definitely bad-ass." She laughed, leaning a little on the bar and going on. "One of my best memories is going to see them with Maria." Her memories had slowly started to come back over time, and she was pretty sure she had all of them now. Almost more vividly than before.

"No, no, you were great! Definitely a worthy partner up there." She nudged him again, this time, less aggressively. "Sounds like a story I need to hear. Tell me." She reached for her shot, saluting and taking it. "Not like we don't have the time. Or maybe after a couple more rounds, I'll get it out of you.

It was strange to her that so many people on Earth knew who she was. Stranger that they were "fans". "I think I saw more Captain Americas and Iron Men in there." She wondered if they'd found their way to this strange place, yet. Carol had a feeling Tony would love it.

"I mean they're fun, I don't know about best band ever though." Peter scoffed lightly as Carol defended her favorite band adamantly. "I think maybe Queen is probably better. The Beatles for some people, The Bee Gees." He offered a few different options, but you know if Carol liked that kind of music she could run with it. "Sounds like you guys had fun with that."

This was fun, Carol was fun Peter decided, "Well thank you." He laughed when she asked for the story about his dramatic phase, shaking his head because well it was one of those better left in the past kind of stories. "I think I'll need several more of these before I'm willing to part with that sensitive information."

Peter shook his head when she mentioned the amount of merch they'd seen for Captain America and Iron Man. "Yeah but that's like you know there are the like main characters, the ones the studios want you to like best and they make all the merch for them, but the fans really know which ones are the best." He explained, he'd seen it often enough in actual movies eries back home. "You and I are like... the fan favorites."

Okay, now Carol was getting irritated. Sort of (not really). She glared at Peter, giving him her best don't f-with me look as he challenged her band. "The Bee Gees? You're going to say that Staying Alive is better than Welcome to the Jungle?" She scoffed, taking another drink of beer and shaking her head. "Okay, so I guess your taste really does suck that bad."

She nudged a shot towards him in encouragement. "Studio? You think this is all a studio thing? Like the movies?" Carol came from a time where the biggest movies she knew were Top Gun, Ghostbusters, and Jaws. Maybe Star Wars and Indiana Jones (okay, definitely those two). "So there's someone making films about us, too."

She considered that. It was definitely weird. "Whatever you say, but I'm pretty sure the photos were more of a tribute to your longjohns and my awesomeness."

Peter held up his hands in surrender at the look Carol gave him, "I didn't say they were my favorite, but I don't know that it can be argued that Staying Alive is an easier song for most people to sing than Welcome to the Jungle." The matter of better was another story all together, but Karaoke wasn't necessarily about better, it was just about what you could mostly make it through without embarrassing yourself too much - or maybe embarrassing yourself just enough depending on how you looked at it. "I still maintain Queen would be my band of choice. It's hard to go wrong with Bohemian Rhapsody." Maybe that meant his taste sucked, but Peter could handle that.

Laughing he took the shot she pushed in his direction while giving her a look that said he knew exactly what she was up to. "I mean it seems likely, people love movies, and people seem to love us, why wouldn't they make movies about us?" He shrugged, they made movies out of everything these days, from board games to nursery rhymes. Why not comic books?

When she teased him about his costume Peter was unbothered. "Hey I designed this suit when I was a teenager, sure I've updated it a little since then but the idea is the same - it's a classic, people look at it and know who I am. It has great movement and I solved the chaffing issue years ago." Of course it had to be said that Carol was awesome, so there was that too. "I think they just like us best."

"I don't know how it's easier. It's annoying. I hated the disco era." She would know, she was a teenager through it. "You don't remember how bad it was. Bellbottoms, that awful avocado green carpet." She laughed at the memory. "Yeah, no thanks."

Queen. Of course. She wasn't going to argue. Queen was good, but she wasn't about to try to pull Bohemian Rhapsody.

"It's weird to imagine an actress playing me, I guess. Or showing my life." It was like an invasion of privacy, but she stopped short of saying it.

"Chaffing, huh? And you kept wearing it? Well, more power to you, I guess." Carol was happy that at least her uniform was comfortable. As was what she was wearing at the moment. "I guess I can't say I blame them. I don't see Stark or Rogers in here blowing the roof off karaoke night."

Peter laughed as Carol related the horrors of the disco era. "Well you're right, I don't remember it that was a little before my time, I grew up in the 80s and 90s." Though if he was being honest he had a little more nostalgia for the music of the early 90s than any other time. But you know everyone had their own favorites.

It was weird, Peter didn't know what he thought of people viewing his life as a form of entertainment, all the highs but especially the lows - he'd had a lot of lows and people would have seen that if his idea about things like movies was right, and in the comic books certainly there would have been those stories too. It didn't feel all that great thinking about that. "Yeah, it is weird - probably better don't think about it too much or else it'll just get even weirder." Better to just keep drinking and trading stories.

"Spandex isn't quite as comfortable as people would have you believe." He said sagely, "But I figured it out, a little baby powder is all you need." That and the changes he'd made to the suit as he'd gotten older and tired of going through more baby powder than he cared to admit.

"You're right, they only wish they could be as cool as us, this is why we're the favorites, we're the cool ones out here among the people singing and having a great time doing it." He raised his glass with a laugh, because what else could they do with this? It was either laugh or get caught up in the strangeness of it all.

She winced at the thought. She was pretty sure Peter was older than her (well, he'd actually aged older than she had),j and it reminded her that she was sort of held back in that way. She still wasn't sure how long she'd stay young like this. Or if her aging process was just slowed down. She finished her beer and nodded for the bartender to fill up their shots and her glass again. It was better not to think about it.

"Definitely not going to think about it anymore."

Spandex. Right. "It doesn't look like it offers much in the way of protection. Why not armor? Everyone else has armor. And where do you store your keys?" PRacticalities! Her suit had pockets. She couldn't live without pockets.

"We are definitely the cool ones." Okay, now she was starting to feel the alcohol a little. "We're singing again, right? I might even agree to Queen if you come up there."

Carol was definitely out drinking him, but he had a feeling she was a little more super powered than him when it came to things like this, so it was fine that she was ahead, he was absolutely going to be feeling this though that much he was fully aware of. His usual coping mechanisms were more cry in the shower than drink the pain away, but you know maybe this was an improvement on that.

"Probably a good idea." He agreed nodding. He didn't think it was something either one of them needed to spend too much time thinking about.

"It gets in the way, armor I mean. I've got to be able to move and bend and flip around and stuff and if I'm weighed down too much I can't move the way I need to." Everyone might have had armor but everyone else wasn't Spider-Man and that was the difference right? At least that's what Peter told himself. "Uh.... I don't keep keys with me. Sometimes I web my things up to the sides of buildings, but I tend not to get that stuff back, so usually I go without keys. Or other things."

Grinning Peter nodded, he absolutely was feeling the alcohol, but they were the cool ones whether he was on his way to drunk or not. "Uh yeah?" He supplied. "Especially if we're gonna do Queen," because that was an opportunity he wasn't about to pass up."

Carol looked surprised at how he kept his stuff, smirking. "So you don't lock your door, either? I'm surprised you have stuff at all after that." She really did think it was amusing. "Can't you build lockets in there? What about money? Do you pay for things in your suit?"

So many questions. Shew as full of them.

"How many drinks till I get that story out of you?" She was staring at the shots, then at him with the same grin she had earlier. "Because we're not leaving this bar until you tell me. Or you pass out. In which case, I will wait with you until you wake up and tell me."

Yup. When Carol put her mind to something, she got things done. Poor Peter probably didn't realize that when he agreed to come with her tonight. She took the shot, passing him the next one. "Don't worry, I'll stay sober enough for the both of us."

He admitted, most of the time the windows were located in places only he could reach anyway so it wasn't a big deal and if he did need to use the door Aunt May had kept a key for him in the past, and the house was technically his now so it was still there when he needed it.

"Where do you think I'm gonna put a pocket in this thing?" Peter asked standing up and running his hands down his sides like he was showing off the lack of hiding places, "I mean I can keep a little cash on me, sometimes you need a pizza when you're on patrol, you know? But cash folds flat, keys are a little more difficult."

And then she was prodding at him about his past again, his dramatic years and he imagined she was right, she would get it out of him eventually. Carol was maybe a little evil - but like.... in a good way? If that made sense and right then it made sense to Peter.

"Just know you might end up having to carry me back home." Peter warned and then took another shot before he settled in.

"So when I was younger there was this symbiote." He started, "I found myself bonded with it and initially I don't think I really was aware of it that much, at least not fully, because who thinks about things like that? You know? Anyway it started to change me a little, I started wearing a lot more black, I had terrible bangs." His hair was too short to show off what that had been like but he dangled his fingers up on his forehead like it would get the same impression across. "It was like I forgot how to be an awkward train wreck for a while, I could flirt with ease, I didn't mind showing off, I danced.... in public!" He added "On the street. I even went with a black suit. It was all very dramatic."

"Good point." She stared down at his suit then back at him, clearly seeing he had no room for pockets. And no shame, apparently. Carol took her shot and laughed. "So climbing in and out of windows in a spider suit wasn't conspicuous to your neighbors." It was a statement at this point, not a question.

When he talked about carrying him home, she laughed. "Yeah, I figured I would definitely be carrying you home- just don't throw up on my jacket or I will hurt you." That part she wasn't kidding about.

She made a weirded out face when he talked about this episode of his life. A symbiote? Right. It wasn't the weirdest story she'd heard. "So you had a terrible haircut and flirted in a dark suit. Got it. Sounds like that's not too abnormal for your early 20s. I had a perm once." She couldn't believe she admitted it. She turned to stare ahead and took a drink of her beer. "It was bad. Very bad. I burned any picture I had of it."

She paused, not looking at him and adding. "And if you every tell anybody, I will destroy you. Slowly. It will hurt. Got it?" She smiled back at him, but it was clear she was serious about that one.

Peter shrugged. "I'm very sneaky?" He offered, to be honest it was probably just pure luck that people hadn't seen him crawling in to windows and things like that over the years. Either that or all of his neighbors knew who was under the mask and just kept his secret for him, either way it worked.

"I've got a strong constitution." He promised. Yes Carol would absolutely need to help him home, but he wouldn't throw up because Peter Parker never threw up, so they were safe. And he could tell Carol was dead serious about the sanctity of her jacket.

"I mean, there was an alien involved too, I feel like I'd have made very different clothing and hairstyle choices without the alien." Because sure everyone acted like an idiot in their 20s it was just part of life and growing up and becoming a real live adult but Peter's had been a little more influenced by a man eating monster.

His eyes went wide with delight when Carol admitted to having a perm once, "Oh my god, tell me all about it." He said leaning forward on his seat, he had an image in his mind but he needed to know more to see if that fit what he imagined. "I won't tell anyone, I promise." He held out his hand pinky extended to make sure she knew just how serious he was.

Sneaky. Right. She actually snorted at that, shaking her head and sipping. "You know, everyone always blames the alien." The comment came as he explained the phone 'phrase' he'd gone through. "I was kidnapped by aliens and not once did I blame them for my style choices- well, except the uniform. But I like the uniform, so..."

At least Carol could joke about it now, right?

She laughed, clearly loosening up more as she drank, making him pinky promise of course. "It was huge. Like...bigger than I even knew. Big hair was the thing then. I told you I liked Guns N' Roses and all those bands were into big hair- I almost cut it short, but Maria convinced me not to. I owe her for that one." She smirked.

"I think it even had a fade on the side. Like I said, I thought it was a good idea until I saw it.
