Who: Carol Danvers and Peter Parker
What: Showers, Beer, and Singing!
Where: A random convention somewhere
When: Wednesday evening
Rating:Lowish? Maybe swearing?

Carol had been itching to go exploring through the doors for days now, but there had definitely been some hesitancy since talking to Tony about what might be on the other side. From what she'd seen over the communicator, it looked like people were coming and going freely from the same strange place. Whatever this "convention" was, there was plenty to report back. And she had to admit it, curiosity was getting the better of her.

She was dressed down for this, electing to leave her uniform at home. Even if she ran into trouble, she figured she could handle it. Unless there was a sudden alien attack or something. What were the odds? Right?

Carol didn't hesitate much, opening the door and stepping into...well, what was this place? It was clearly a large overly lit and crowded convention hall, but Carol wasn't really ready for just how big it all was. She was used to the idea that comic "conventions" were just something very geeky people did in dingy and dark comic store basements. This was entirely different. All around her people were wearing costumes, t-shirts with the faces of superheroes on them, and...wait, was that Rogers? No. Just some 17-year-old acne-ridden kid in some serious cosplay.

It reminded her too much of Los Angeles.

"Okay, maybe this wasn't a great idea..." She was considering going back through the door when something caught her eye. A comic book stand with a familiar looking face drawn on a large vinyl banner. "Oh, you've got to be kidding me..." Tony was right. Carol was pretty sure that it was the older version of him drawn on the banner and as she came closer, she saw various comic books ranging from "Iron Man" to "Thor". Curiously, she reached for an Avengers comic to start flipping through it, smirking when she realized that whatever this place was, it was definitely nothing she'd seen before.

Peter was half expecting a knock on the door from security who would be none too pleased by his amazing theft, but instead it was Carol who came through the door not long after he'd made it back upstairs. Now that they had the machine they were definitely going to have to figure out how they were going to make it work once they got it back home again.

"Oh man yes, power and like... a light show." Peter said, "This is exactly the sort of thing that's going to go perfectly with my plans for back there." He said said excitedly, still drunk but now both with excitement and the alcohol, the wheels were turning now and Peter thought this was exactly the sort of thing that would make things better back home and he could just see himself eating pizza and singing with this.

"You are a genius," Peter agreed with a laugh.

"Oh yes! They'll all have extension cords down there, we should throw some of this into a pillow case and grab a cord and head back." Peter decided. They could run the cord from the convention back to the town and maybe use it as a way to get some actual power going for more than just karaoke machines.

"Yes!" A light show. She loved the idea. "Definitely going to need some lights, too." Carol walked over and practically fell down onto the bed, feeling tired and rolling over to lay on her back as she thought about it. "We can go after everyone else has gone to bed, shouldn't be too hard. But we probably shouldn't come back once we do. Cause...you know...we're already kinda suspicious."

She sat up on her elbows, grinning almost proud at their little act of rebellion.

"Perfect!" Her eyes moved around the room, straight to the fridge. "And the fridge. Definitely going to take the fridge." Part of her felt bad for stealing. It really wasn't okay. At the same time, this place looked like it could afford the losses and they were sort of desperate where they were staying.

Not to mention these guys were making a lot of money using their stories. Okay, Carol didn't feel that bad about the karaoke machine and the fridge.

Peter nodded, they were making some great plans for when they got back and Peter was eager to see it all come together, Starklandia was okay of course, but it needed some improving if they were going to have to stay there, even if just for a little while longer. "Yeah, very suspicious." Peter agreed in a sing songy kind of way after he'd laid down too, basking in the glory of what they'd done - maybe glory was the wrong word, he shouldn't feel proud of stealing, but well - he was.

"Oh yeah, perfect, that'll come in handy too." Because sure they were doing all right when it came to food, savaging through the doors every so often and hunting in the woods by a few of them seemed to keep them all fed, but refrigeration was going to be a game changer. He hoped a few of the others had the same thought when they'd come through to all of this.

"So we'll gather up all the extension cords we can when we go back down, we've got the karaoke machine, and the fridge, should we take anything else?" He glanced for a moment at the television, but really what was the point? It wasn't like they had some sort of network to plug it in to, no that was out, maybe the coffee maker that came with the room too. Pillows definitely.

It was too bad he only had two hands and that they were going to try not to be too obvious because he'd have loved to figure out a way to just take this whole bed with him.

Carol had considered the bed, too. Except that it would probably look pretty awkward as she hauled a bed down the emergency stairs- not to mention just a little bit suspicious. It was already going to be weird enough getting the other stuff out of there. "Definitely the pillows. Blankets. Robes. Towels."

She yawned and stared at the TV. No. No network and taking the TV seemed excessive.

Then something occurred to her. She grinned and looked at Peter. "We should open a bar."

Yup. Drunk Carol was pretty single-minded about stuff like this. "We can use the fridge. Maybe sneak back into the karaoke place and grab some glasses and bottles of liquor." Was this too excessive? She'd seen some boxes. "We can use one of those made carts in the halls."

Yes good, they might not be able to get the beds but they could definitely take all the soft stuff that they'd enjoyed so much already. This was definitely a plan that was taking shape beyond just what would make them most comfortable when they got back.

"Oh man," Peter breathed out and nodded, because right now yes - that sounded like a thing they definitely had to do, after all they'd just been at a bar and had a great time, why shouldn't they open one of their own when they got back. "Yesssss."

And then she suggested grabbing one of the house keeping carts and Peter couldn't believe he hadn't thought of that before, "Oh my god you really are a genius, yes, that is perfect," It would help them move it all more easily and people would be less likely to look closely than they might at the sight of two people hefting a karaoke machine and a fridge through the hotel.

"All right, all right, all right," He said it mostly for himself to keep himself from wandering too far from the point, "So we'll grab a cart bring it in here and pile on everything we're taking, then get back down to the bar before we head back through the way we came in making sure we get some cords before we go." Yes this was a good plan, maybe - probably, what was the worst that could happen? Yeah it was gonna be fine.

"Oh, oh, oh, oh, I haven't told you." Peter said because it felt important here in this moment. "I started to make a pizza oven back home, one of those brick ones. Think of it." He said with a pleased sigh, "Pizza and beer and karaoke. This is going to be perfect."

She just nodded when he called her a genius, smirking and not arguing with him. Okay, if they were going to do this, they probably had to move. No doubt they were already close to getting caught since the bar knew their room number. "Okay, you gather everything- web it? You do the web thing, right?" She had no idea. She just saw it in one of the comics. "I'm gonna get the cart. Carts. Think we'll need two?" She frowned then pushed herself out of bed to head to the door. "Be back in five. Or less. Oh, also get the soaps!"

And with that, Carol was on a mission. She did her best to look nonchalant as she scanned the halls and grinned when she saw a cart. The poor maid wouldn't know where it had gone. Carol wheeled off with it, opening the door and getting it into the room before clearing out some dirty laundry to make room for the fridge. The two machines were an awkward fit but easily covered with the blankets from the bed.

When that was done, she looked a the strange mass on wheels they'd created. "Okay, go straight to the door. I'll get the power set up. And the lights." Carol already had a plan. She also figured out how to get past security if they weren't alone in the convention hall, but it would be easier to do it herself.

"Oh, and stop by the bar. I don't know if it's a good idea if I just walk in after what happened."

He laughed and nodded, "Yeah I do the web thing." He agreed, it was probably a good thing he was drunk, Peter didn't think he'd have gotten quite so into this plan sober. So there they were gathering all the things that were worth it from their room on to the stolen cart in such a way that it didn't look like they were here stealing everything they could from this hotel.

"Okay," He agreed once they had Carol's stolen cart loaded up. "Okay this looks good, I'll grab another one on my way down to the bar, I'll get everything I can and then meet you back in the hall." He paused for a moment, "Unless things get crazy, then just go back without me, I'll meet you there." Peter wasn't worried about being caught - at least not caught in a way that meant he'd be detained. Maybe he'd have to ditch the plan to steal as much alcohol as possible from the bar but that was a sacrifice he thought they could make if it meant getting back safe. And well Carol - Peter knew she could take care of herself just fine, definitely better than he could.

With one last look at their pile of goods Peter nodded. "Okay yeah, let's do this. Meet downstairs in ten." He decided before he was pulling his mask down one more time, thanking whatever higher powers there were that there were so many other Spider-Men here that he just blended in, maybe not quite as well this late in the day but enough.

The bar was quieter than when they'd come through earlier, the crowds apparently having no reason to stick around without the lure of karaoke, so it was just one bruised looking bartender cleaning up and another patron at the bar nursing a drink while the television played quietly. Okay, time to get things done Parker.

Later he'd feel bad about webbing the guys there in the bar, you know much later, but it was the easiest and quickest way to get things done and they were leaving right after anyway so you know it wasn't like he was a real bad guy or anything. "Look I know this just hasn't been your night man, maybe consider a more upscale hotel yeah? Ask for a raise at least, this could be really good for you if you think about it." He said after he'd stashed both the bartender and the other dude behind the bar. And then started loading his cart up with all the alcohol he could grab and a few other little things, cups and shakers, spoons, some cherries, a pack of little umbrellas because why not and then he threw a table cloth over it all.

Yeah that didn't look shady at all.

And then he wheeled himself back down to the conference hall, on high alert. "Hey buddy," Okay maybe the alert could have been a little higher, "The conference is over pal, we're locking up."

"Uh right, I've just gotta you know-" He said pointing inside like that was all the explanation that was necessary. "I'll just be a second." He kept right on walking hoping you know he was giving off enough confidence in the whole thing that he wouldn't be actually asked to stop.

He could still feel the guys eyes on him though as he kept walking hoping that Carol had already finished her part of the plan and they were ready to just go right through the door, because he had a feeling this guy was going to follow him before too long. "We're leaving now right? We're leaving yeah? Cause there's a guy," He hissed quietly when he found her.

Carol had gone straight to the hall to start gathering what they needed. She noted the cards and nodded in approval, the alcohol starting to clear out of her system. She knew all of this was a bad idea, but at the same time, it was too late to turn back now. "Yeah, just let me finish here." She was securing a very long extension cord, using a bit of her photon power to melt the plastic just enough to the convention floor. It was a temporary fix, but hopefully, it would allow them to jumpstart Stark's system back home. Near Carol was a box filled with various things she'd gathered from the convention including some hanging lights and other odds and ends (mostly comics, action figures, and a Captain America plushy she thought was hilarious).

"Ready?" She picked up the box in one arm and had the extension cord in the other, nodding for him to go for the door just as security started shouting at them. "Now or never?" She quickly followed him onto the other side of the door, closing it after they were through and making sure there was enough room for the cord. Hopefully, the others couldn't get through.

After some awkward shouts and bangs, there was silence. And Carol grinned and looked at Peter. "Think they're mad?"

Carol was on the ball she'd gathered up everything she could so by the time Peter met up with her they were ready to go back through the door together, "Yes, yes, definitely now." He agreed nodding nerves coursing through him like it was his first night out all over again, and in a certain way it was - theft was a little outside his skill set but he thought maybe this was okay, there were extenuating circumstances after all.

Peter hadn't been totally sure whether or not they could be followed back through, the banging on the door made him think maybe but then it just stopped and he felt himself slump in relief. "I think they didn't count on actual super people coming to the convention." He said with a laugh.

"Oh my god, I've never done anything like that before." But he supposed it was a little like what Kate and Clint had done to get their espresso machine, it was how they were going to make life livable for the time they were stuck here. And he hadn't hurt anyone, not really so you know it all evened out in the wash.

"This is - man." He shook his head feeling a little less drunk and a little more high on the adrenaline that came from a night out like this. He'd missed this in the months that he'd let his life fall apart, since he thought he'd gotten too old to be Spider-Man. He could still do this. Even when he wasn't using his powers for theft. "We made a pretty good team."

Carol made a face. This was totally not like her, either, but there was the alcohol and desperation. Mostly the alcohol. She would probably feel horrible about it later, but nobody had gotten hurt! Except for the barkeep she hit. And some relatively minor property damage. "Better to beg for forgiveness than ask, right?" Okay, even she didn't buy that.

"Just don't tell Steve where we got this stuff. We'll never hear the end of it."

She stared at their haul and sighed. Yeah, they might have gone a little overboard. Reaching up to scratch her neck, she considered then looked at Peter. "So....if we were going to make a bar...where should we set it up?"

Peter's eyes went wide when Carol mentioned Steve, yeah they were definitely never telling Steve what they'd done - sure he wasn't an idiot and he could probably sort it out for himself, but well there was no reason for either of them to confess to Steve that they'd gotten drunk and decided robbing a hotel bar was the next logical step. "Yeah, no, no one needs to hear the story of our amazing adventure." He agreed.

Looking at it all now it was more than a little insane what they'd done but he was proud about it too in a little way, not only had he gone through the portal despite his doubts about it all, but he'd managed to get back with all of this.

"I know just the place," Peter declared with a wide grin, "Follow me," He tilted his head to one side and began pushing his cart toward the little building he'd claimed when he'd started building his pizza oven. "How about this?" He asked holding his hands wide showing off his sort of masterpiece - sure it was just an empty building with a hand built stone oven outside, but you know it was the start of something, he had vision. "What goes better with a bar than pizza?"

"Unless you get drunk and blab", she reasoned. "But you won't do that. Because you know I'd have to kill you." Her face was very serious when she said it and she gathered up the rest of the stuff to follow him to his perfect spot.

Carol was honestly impressed. It was definitely the start to something. She looked around the area, clearly thinking about what they could do here. "We're going to have to build a bar. Get some barstools, tables, chairs...but it will do." She had left the remaining extension cord by the door, but for how this was a good place to store what they'd taken.

She set down the box and nodded over her shoulder. "I should probably start hooking up power to Stark's system." With the alcohol out, but adrenaline still pumping, Carol knew she wasn't going to be able to sleep tonight. Plus, no idea how long they still had a connection to that power source.

"You're so murderous," Peter said laughing despite the serious look on Carol's face as she warned him against telling anyone where they'd gotten their stuff from. "Anyone ever tell you, you need a better way to work out your aggression?" He was teasing, his tone amused and playful as they talked leading the way to what could potentially be the bar.

"Yeah, it'll need some work before we can make it all official but I think it could fit the bill." He agreed as Carol listed out the things they'd need to make it into a real bar, cause yeah it was just an empty shell right now, not at all like the bar they'd been in earlier that evening.

"So I guess you do that, I'll get to work on getting things together for the bar?" He suggested, if he was more sober he'd have offered to help with the power source getting it connected and running, but it was something Tony was working on and well he didn't fully trust himself not to mess it up in the state he was in right now.

"We can make an announcement after we get everything together? Let people know?"

"I'm not murderous, I just happen to know what works with people. And most of the time, I don't have to follow through." Most of the time. She just grinned. "I used to spar when I needed to get any aggression out....but let's just say I haven't had an equal match in a while." She wasn't complaining, though. Usually, she had enough bad guys to handle that it wasn't a problem. But here, she was just sort of sitting on her hands and the tension had been building.

Carol nodded as she looked at the spot. She could definitely see it. "We can probably ask around. Jan's resourceful, right? She could probably get a few things." Not sure if she should be telling anyone exactly what they were up to, yet. Maybe after the door changed again. Just in case someone might try to make them put the stuff back.

"Yeah...sounds good." She paused and looked around. "How does Pancho's sound?"

"And you looked at me and said, ah yes - that Peter Parker. He's the kind of guy who I can threaten with death occasionally and he'll do whatever I ask?" He wondered, amused at the very idea - all things considered death was the sort of thing any of them in the heroing business had looked down the barrel of several times already so it hardly seemed like the right kind of threat. "I'd offer, but I think you and I both know I'm not an equal match for you," It didn't bother him though, in fact it maybe made him like him more? Knowing she could kick his ass whenever she wanted. Look Peter was a man who could appreciate a strong woman, it was just how he'd been raised. "Maybe Cap?" He suggested after a moment thinking about who here might do better against her if she wanted to spar.

He nodded, "Yeah, yeah we'll keep it on the down low for a little while." After all they would still be getting things together for a little while, the convention had been good for most of the basics but they'd need more than that if they were going to open a bar. So hopefully the door gave way to some other locations soon, either that or maybe someone here had some serious carpentry skills and could build the furniture they needed. He wasn't sure if that was true, but he could hold out hope. Until they found what they needed through other means.

Considering the name she suggested for a moment, Peter decided it was as good as any, and probably miles better than anything he'd have come up with on his own. "Sure, I think that'd work."

"It worked, didn't it?" She was smiling as she said it. Clearly, Carol lived to get under people's skin. Well, the people she liked, anyway.

When he suggested Rogers, she almost scoffed. At first. The more she considered it, though, the more it made sense. "Maybe. I'll be honest....I used to lose a lot of matches." She almost hated to admit that. "I mean, without using my powers. I've been told I have a tendency to be too emotional." She hated that saying. Guys had loved to use that against her when she was training to be a pilot. But for her, maybe they were just a little bit right?

She'd still really love to kick their asses, though.

"Good." He was glad she accepted the name. It was the easiest thing she could come up with, and she really didn't want to have to explain it at the moment. "I should go get that generator working." She wasn't really looking forward to that one so much. She was tired and it was probably going to take til morning to actually charge it enough to work. But, now that she had ready access to a power source via the cord, she could probably boost it a little with her own powers. Yeah, shouldn't be too bad.
