The Silver Age: OOC

Hey there, I'm Tim. And so far I've only got one character in the game. I bring you Betsy Braddock AKA: Psylocke from the Marvel Universe. She is played by the lovely Oliva Wilde. Check out her profile if you want to get a feel for what Betsy is all about. The short of it is she is a sarcastic, tough as nails, whitty, mutant, with psychic powers. As far a plotting goes I'm up for anything. I noticed there is a hold on Warren AKA: Archangel. If and when he joins the game I'd love to do some Betsy/Warren plottage. I know they have a history in the comics and I'm more than willing to play up that history in some treads. I also notice we have Buffy and Faith scheduled to join. I think it would be a lot of fun to get Betsy together with one or both of the Slayers and see what happens. A littel Slayer-fu mingling with ninja/psychic-fu should make for a great scene. Anyway I'm glad to be a part of the game and look forward to playing. See you guys around. Later.

I'm Stephanie, and I'll be playing your friendly neighborhood Angel. He's a '60s native, because who doesn't want more rich dudes in suits in the 1960s? In this particular incarnation, Warren's publicly viewed as the standoffish, rather disappointing heir to the Worthington Industries steel magnate fortune. He's chosen to be known as a hunchback rather than a mutant, which makes him very recognizable (if not very popular), and has gone to great pains to keep his wings a secret from the public (though some of his associates know, and naturally some people suspect ... things). There have been a few airborne rescues by a masked birdman in recent years, but no connections have been made to him. Yet.

Patricia here and I bring Cinderella from Vertigo's Fables. What can I say about Cindy? She's the Cinderella, is a little over 200 years and loves to party and spent money faster than she can earn it. She also a secret agent/assasin who loves jumping off high buldings but not many people outside her community know about that side of her.

Despite her age, she is a new arrival who is not amused at being in the 60's (She did like a lot of the fashion but a girl needs her electronic goodies and modern clothing!) and will be hard at work trying to find a way back... in between shopping and partying. Hey, everyone!

My name is Mara, and I'll be playing Poison Ivy, William Compton, and Catwoman (phew). I'm happy to be portraying some of the more villainous characters here, particularly since two of my characters straddle the villain/hero line. I'm curious to see if something will finally push them one way or the other.

All of the characters I'm playing so far are natives. Bill Compton because, well, he's a vampire so he would be alive during that era, and I thought it'd be a neat little challenge to translate the other two to the 1960's. Bill works as a pianist for the Playboy Club, so may be familiar with some of the - ahem - sleazier denizens of the city. Selina will be a secretary at Sterling-Cooper, and will definitely have some knowledge of the wealthier population. Pamela works at Wayne Industries, though I'm not quite sure who she'd know just yet.

Terry here, with the TechnoMage Galen from the Babylon 5 'verse. 
           
He's a perfect example of that old saying, "Sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic." He's got a lot of hardware installed. Dropping in from 2264 (hyperdrive malfunction of some sort, he thinks) Galen is one of the white hats, even if he does usually wear black. He's finding himself a bit handicapped by the lack of large energy sources in 1964. Anybody got a nuclear reactor he can borrow?
         
Although he comes off a bit stiff at first, he is a caring person. Galen left a few good friends behind when he made the jump to New York. He just tends to meddle occasionally without being asked. He might think he knows what's best.  He's also hasn't been in any sort of relationship since the death of Isabella some 10+ years ago. She died because Galen refused to use his ultimate weapon to save her. He's over that little inhibition now. Take a look at his character sheet for more information about him.
        
Galen will definitely be interested in any of the high-tech research and development organizations. He needs a job of some sort if he wants to live someplace better than his small ship at the bottom of Meadow Lake. A power source to recharge his ship and himself would be nice. Magic users with inborn abilities would no doubt amuse him. Anybody trying to imprison him, bully him or others, and generic bad guys he would probably not find so amusing.

I'm chief engineer at a brand name hotel and frequently have to be at work just sitting and waiting for something to break, so feel free to ping if you see me online. Hiya, my name's Chris and I'll be playing Amy Pond, from Doctor Who seasons 5 and (currently airing) 6. Like many people here, my job requires me to sit at a computer all day, so I can usually be reached at email ccgentes@gmail.com or AIM ccgentes.

First things first, I've never done this before. The one time I tried online rp it was in an entirely different format, and all OCs. So please be patient with me, and feel free to call me out on any rookie mistakes.

As for Amy, she's a recent arrival in 1964, but being in a new place and time isn't that big a deal for her, because pretty much all she does is travel through time and space. She isn't used to being stranded somewhere, though, so that'll shake her a bit. It seems like she's one of the few characters without any special powers, or who doesn't put on a mask and save/kill people. She loves adventure, though, and has seen plenty of it. Her suspension of disbelief can go pretty far if pushed.

If I were to describe Amy in Dungeons & Dragons terms, she's chaotic good. Heavy on the chaotic. She's flirtatious, but she is also a newlywed, so being separated from her husband and surrounded by all these good-looking powerful men could be hard/confusing/interesting for her.

Don't know what she might try to find for work, but someone mentioned wanting a bunny at the Playboy club, and Amy does have experience working as a singing kissogram... If that happens, it could make Amy's interactions with Bill interesting, because the only vampires Amy's seen before were fish-like aliens.

Since I'm so new, I'm up for other people suggesting ideas or plots to try. I have Amy's entrance into 1964 NY pretty much figured out, but there's room for a tall dark stranger for her to run into when she dashes out of the rain, scared and confused.
