Who: The Doctor and Open.
When: Wednesday Evening.
Where:  A random street in New York City.
What: Arrival.
Rating/Status: PG/Open

As soon as the TARDIS doors shut behind the Doctor, the TARDIS started to dematerialize. The Doctor quickly turned and attempted to bang on the doors before pulling out his sonic screwdriver and flashing it at the almost gone TARDIS. "NO! NO! NO!" The matter was helpless though, the TARDIS was gone with Rory inside it. It seemed that something didn’t want it here, which really made no sense because this was just New York in the 1960s, so what wouldn’t want the TARDIS here? Of course the Doctor didn’t mean for the TARDIS to land now, he just meant to drop Amy off for some personal items that he really didn’t wan to know about.  He got the timing a bit wrong, but still Earth and parking right around the corner from the drug store, what could possibly go wrong?

"Not good, not good at all," the Doctor shook his head. "Right, yeah, the TARDIS, twice, never a good sign."  As soon as Amy stepped out of the TARDIS just a bit ago, the exact same thing happened, but the Doctor was able to get control of her again and went back to get Amy. This time it didn’t look too good, with Rory alone in the TARDIS.

The Doctor quickly pulled out his ear piece and tried calling Rory on the TARDIS, there was nothing. Very not good, this was starting to look very bad. More bad then usual bad, if that could ever happen. He pulled out his ear piece and used his sonic on it, hoping to boost the signal and reach the TARDIS wherever she was. Once again, there was nothing. The Doctor could always reach the TARDIS.

The Doctor slowly turned to look down the dim and abandoned alleyway, one that he soon realized was different then the one he dropped Amy off. The Doctor walked out of the alley and onto the busy New York street. "Right, all of New York and I’ve got a missing girl and TARDIS. Very slim odds of finding either at the moment and not a clue where to start." After being serious for a moment, he broke out with a slight laugh and smile on his face. "Oh this will be fun."

"Right, nurse in hospital with cape. Why do you wear the cape then? Bit strange if none of the other nurses are wearing it, don't you think?" The Doctor was really just trying to figure her out.

"Just the Doctor." He nodded.

"Maybe I like standing out," Linda replied. "It's just a quirk of mine."

"Just the Doctor," she repated. "And what's your specialty, Doctor?" Against her best judgement, she was curious about this odd man, a welcomed distraction to her hectic life.

"Nothing wrong with standing out! Quite like to stand out myself, sometimes at least, depends really on where and when though. Just as long as I'm not trying to hide from someone or something. Any particular reason you like to stand out?" It was a valid question he felt, sometimes poeple wanted to stand out for reasons. Sometimes whatever that reason was, could tell a lot about a person.

"Yep, just the Doctor, hello!" He smiled. "Everything!" He beamed. "Do I have to have a specialty? Find that rather boring."

Linda couldn't stop smiling. She was sure this man had no trouble standing in a crowd.

"I just like my patients to be able to find me," she said. "I specialize in unusual types of injuries."

"Oh, a Jack of all Trades!" she exclaimed. "You should drop by the hospital sometime. We could use a little extra help from time to time."

"Unusual? What sort of unusual injuries?" The Doctor wondered what they might consider unusual during this time.

"Exactly that!" He exclaimed back. "Could do that, don't see why not." He wasn't really a medical doctor at all, but he was sure there would be something he could help with. Besides, he needed to poke his head around the city to try and figure out what happened.

"Maybe I should go with you now."

Linda shrugged. "Just the kind that need a little extra attention." She could have said they were the kind most people didn't want to show to more conventional Doctors, but she feared she might get the wrong idea.

"Right now? To the hospital?" Linda frowned a little but then reasoned it could be a good idea. If anything she could see theDoctor interact in a more stable enviroment. "Sure, why not?"

"Ah, yes, a little extra attention, calls for someone like you." He smiled. "Must be good they have you around then."

"Great! Off we go then!" He waited for her to lead the way. "Any unusual sort of things happening lately? Or, any unusual people coming in?" Going to the hospital might not help him in any way, but the fact that sick and hurt people went there, might tell him something. Depending on what was at work here and who else might be effected.
