TIME UPDATE

WEATHER AND NOTABLE EVENTS
Sunday, October 1 -Saturday, October 7

Sunday, October 1:
Weather: A clear day with the sun shining bright. 61°/38°

EVENTS

→ Today is the last day of Oysterfest at the marina! Delicious oysters, wines, microbrews and live music will be available from Noon until 6pm. No pets or outside food/drink will be permitted.

→ It's a quiet day in Point Pleasant, at least for most of the residents. The police department is still dealing with the aftermath of the fog from the week before. Several residents have been arrested and charged with battery, aggravated assault, and in a couple cases, murder.

→ The teens still dealing with the consequences of the Ouija board continue to experience terrifying nightmares of the red eyed shadow they had seen in the fog. The dreams feel far too real when they wake up, and they'll continue to find bruises and minor wounds on their bodies. It's beginning to take a toll on their mental and physical health as well, yet there's nothing they can do to stop it. Right? These nightmares occur nightly and show no sign of stopping.

Monday, October 2:
Weather: Another clear day. How lovely. 58°/37°

EVENTS

→ Students are reminded that Homecoming is this Saturday, October 7th, being held in the school gym. Tickets will be on sale in the office all week, and at the door of the dance.

→ Advertising for the Overlook Country Club's 5th Annual All Hallow's Gala begins to pop up around Point Pleasant. The Gala is a costume party for adults only. Proceeds from the tickets will go local schools to fund their extracurricular activities and after school programs. Tickets are $50 a person, or $85 a couple. There will be, of course, prizes for best costume(s), as well as catered food, an open bar and more. The Gala will be held on Friday, October 27th.

Tuesday, October 3:
Weather: Partly cloudy, but a fairly decent day, weather wise.; 59°/41°

EVENTS

→ Oh happy day! It's a pretty chill day in Point Pleasant. The weather is crisp, the leaves are changing color and everyone seems to be in a rather good mood.

Wednesday, October 4:
Weather: Oh, look, the sun is out. The sky is bright and clear all day long; 59°/51°

EVENTS

→ Those who had a rather unfortunate experience with their mirror a few weeks ago will find that being near any reflective surface today causes them extreme discomfort. Not physically, but mentally, as once again they'll get the feeling that their reflection is someone else, a different version of themselves, even if the reflection never acts out of the ordinary the way it did before. The most disturbing part of the experience is the undeniable feeling that whoever is looking back at them is someone, or something, dark and malevolent. The more they look into the mirror, the more they start to feel differently, like those sinister emotions are seeping into themselves, and it feels good. The dark feelings are hard to shake, even when they look away, but they will fade once they move away from their reflection, even if the memory of them lingers.

Thursday, October 5:

Weather: Storm clouds roll in early in the morning and it starts to rain by lunch time. The rain continues on and off until nightfall, when it finally clears up, leaving the town a soggy mess. But hey, at least the power stayed on?; Oh! And it's also a full moon tonight; 64°/55°

EVENTS

→ While there's no announcement, a lot of people in Point Pleasant feel uneasy today due to the fact that it's a full moon, and everyone knows strange, scary things tend to happen on the nights of a full moon. Best to stay inside, just to be safe.

Friday, October 6:
Weather: A gray day with isolated showers; 56°/39°

EVENTS

→ The Chamberlain Wolves host the Scarborough Bulldogs tonight at 7pm for their 2017 Homecoming Game! Come cheer on Point Pleasant's football team, and celebrate those who have made Homecoming Court!

→ A temporary Halloween store pops up in a vacant store front on Main Street! Spooktacular! claims to be your one stop shop for everything you could possibly want! The shop will be open through October 31st. Please make sure to read the description of the shop on the Locations page.

Saturday, October 7:
Weather: Sunshine, although the days are definitely getting cooler. 54°/38°

EVENTS

→ It's Main Street Market Day! Several blocks of Main Street are closed to traffic and full of local vendors selling fresh produce, crafts and more. Come out and support Point Pleasant's small businesses.

→ Tonight is Homecoming for Chamberlain High School held in the beautifully decorated gym. It's bound to be a normal night for most.

→ If a high school dance isn't your thing, come on out to The Orion tonight to view the classic Alfred Hitchcock film Psycho! Shows will be at 7pm and 10pm.
