A good man
Title: A good man
Author: [info]shoeboxes4all
Pairing: Severus/Remus
Rating: PG
Word Count: 261
Warnings: In the spirit of the great warnings debate - none necessary, I feel.
Summary: Sirius picks on Remus.
A/N: For the Severus_sighs Inner Severus challenge. I suppose this could be sort of canon compliant depending on where you think the boys might be. :shrugs: Unbetad - all mistakes are my own.
ObDisclaimer - These characters are not mine, they were created by someone else. I just give them stuff to do in their spare time.

"I just don't get it."

"What don't you get?"

"Oh, come on. You know exactly what, WHO, I am talking about. The slimy, oily, greasy gi...!"

"That's enough, Sirius." Remus snapped.

"But he's..."

"He's what?"

"Greasy..."

"Potions residue, hazard of the job."

"Ugly..."

"Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, Sirius."

"Rude..."

"Blunt and to the point. It can be quite refreshing, you know."

"Pale..."

"...and interesting."

"Skinny...'

"I prefer slender, and you should see the muscles under those robes. And the scars. And the tattoos..."

"Thanks for that image...not. Give me a minute while I give my mind's eye a good scrub."

Remus reached for his tea and sighed again. Sirius was like a dog with a bone, unable to let go.

"Aha! Defend this one if you can. He's a Death Eater..."

"WAS a Death Eater. You know how much he sacrificed because of that terrible decision. Hasn't he done enough?"

"Humph. How can you stand that nose?"

"It's distinguished and aquiline."

"He smokes. It's a disgusting habit."

"Like you haven't got a nervous tic or five. Smoking's the least of his worries."

"He's just not NICE!"

"No, I give you that but he's honourable and trustworthy, and, cliche tho' it may be, he is a good man."

"He's not good enough for you. He's from bloody Yorkshire, for Merlin's sake. When was the last time he spent any money?" Sirius paused, colour draining out of his face as realisation dawned.

"Oh. My. Gods. He's a demon in the sack, isn't he!"

"Now you are talking Sirius, I knew you'd get there in the end."

My, but I had a chuckle at the end there, so thank you for that. In fact, I award you 2pts extra as a bonus.

*...*

I just chuckled again, thinking about it. *mumble-mumble* Must find my special potion...

Hahaha. You got me good on the ending there. Yes, those two bonus points were well-earned.

You completely captured your Severus in two hundred words and he wasn't even there.

*claps*

Hahaha. I love this! Silly Sirius, of course Severus is good enough for Remus. (The question is the other way around!) Love the way you presented this; showing both the good and the bad, and how it all mixes together to make the Severus we all know and love. Wonderful job!

silly Sirius indeed. He's getting all wound up about nothing, mostly because he isn't getting any.

thank you - I think Remus has known Sirius long enough to know how to handle him when he's in a snit. Me? I'd just smack him.

*giggles* that was just so brilliant. I loved the dialogue and banter between these two. Remus makes the most convincing arguments for Severus, I'm surprised Sirius isn't a convert, thorougly enjoyed this *hugs*

This is so excellent and fun! I love how you managed to write a Severus fic without him even in it! That takes talent!

*still chuckling* Leave it to the best brain of the Marauders to lead Sirius to the "correct" conclusion! Very deftly done!
