Professor
Title: Professor
Author: [info]atypicalsnowman
Pairing: Severus/Harry, Ron/Hermione
Rating: PG
Word Count: FAIL! 200
Warnings: Nothing. Blah.
Summary: He's known her for a very long time.
A/N: Happy anniversary to us!

Severus sent a glare at Harry's retreating back as Weasley pulled him from the table to show him some ridiculous new Quidditch...thing.

Not even an apologetic look back at him. How typical.

Which left him—as it so often did these days—sitting here with Granger with hardly anything to say. The last time this happened they'd grasped at straws for decent conversation until they finally came to potions. Severus could have slapped himself for how dense he'd been.

"Miss Granger..."

"Weasley. And call me Hermione, Severus."

"Hmm. There's no need for us to sit here and pretend we have something to speak about when we clearly don't."

Granger, er—Weasley looked back at him with a frown, then Summoned a book from a shelf.

"I found the text we were talking about last time. I thought..."

Oh.

"Well, perhaps." The book was already in her hand, after all.

Half an hour later he was pointedly ignoring Harry's beaming smile from Weasley's den, instead taking a snide pleasure in correcting Granger's understanding of Hogwarts: A History.

Her barely-concealed frown was enough to have him smirking until Harry was finally ready to go home. The smile he received when he said he'd bring the unabridged History next time was promptly ignored, but he thought Harry saw it anyway.

See, that's nice! I like it when it's mentioned that Severus gets along with Harry's friends and vise versa... but learning about how the development of the relationship came about is just sweet :)

Ahh, Severus. You gain your joys by torturing others. And Hermione really just begs for it, doesn't she? lol

Sweet how he does it all to please Harry. You know he does lol

Oh of course he does it to please Harry. The smirks gained are just a bonus. : )

LOL, I always like Severus scowling at Ron and then trying to make conversation with Hermione, really nice of him to help her understand Hogwarts, A History better :D

Lovely hon.

I like domestic moments as well. There's something about his sacrifice that's just so sweet. : )

I'm so glad you liked it.

Why am I not surprise that Severus knows Hogwarts: A History front and back?

Nicely done!

I love watching Severus and Hermione take each other on intellectually. I think that's why I never see them in a romantic relationship. They'd be too busy talking about it and analyzing it!! Harry understands his man though; let him get intellectually stimulated and then take him home for the other kind!!

Yeah I can't see them with each other either. There'd be too much to talk about. Severus can be with Harry and they can visit Hermione on weekends. Quidditch and books, in that order.

Thanks, hon.

How could we guess that Hermione and Severus would bond over an intellectual debate? I love how both he and Harry are negotiating what they need to get from other people (it makes what they get from each other so much better ;^)

Hey!

*hugs you*

Where have you been? I'm glad to see you popping in, but we miss you. Also, we must plan another get-together soon.

Thanks for poking your in and reviewing. I like when Harry and Severus both have their own friends. Makes the relationship more realistic.

*hugs you again*

Ahaaa, what a great common interest for the two of them! I like how they're probably both doing this for Harry's sake.

I think ten years down the road, when Severus actually ooks forward to his conversation with the ever Challenging Hermione who he really considers a friend, he will still pretend to be doing it as a favor to Harry, just so he can enjoy Harry making it up to him...
