Professor
Title: Professor
Author: [info]atypicalsnowman
Pairing: Severus/Harry, Ron/Hermione
Rating: PG
Word Count: FAIL! 200
Warnings: Nothing. Blah.
Summary: He's known her for a very long time.
A/N: Happy anniversary to us!

Severus sent a glare at Harry's retreating back as Weasley pulled him from the table to show him some ridiculous new Quidditch...thing.

Not even an apologetic look back at him. How typical.

Which left him—as it so often did these days—sitting here with Granger with hardly anything to say. The last time this happened they'd grasped at straws for decent conversation until they finally came to potions. Severus could have slapped himself for how dense he'd been.

"Miss Granger..."

"Weasley. And call me Hermione, Severus."

"Hmm. There's no need for us to sit here and pretend we have something to speak about when we clearly don't."

Granger, er—Weasley looked back at him with a frown, then Summoned a book from a shelf.

"I found the text we were talking about last time. I thought..."

Oh.

"Well, perhaps." The book was already in her hand, after all.

Half an hour later he was pointedly ignoring Harry's beaming smile from Weasley's den, instead taking a snide pleasure in correcting Granger's understanding of Hogwarts: A History.

Her barely-concealed frown was enough to have him smirking until Harry was finally ready to go home. The smile he received when he said he'd bring the unabridged History next time was promptly ignored, but he thought Harry saw it anyway.
