By request X-Men/Runways One Shot
This was requested by Darkblade. Here are 3 and 2/3 pages from an 11 page story from 2006's Free Comic Book Day issue.

I am only a casual Marvel reader so I offer no value add here. Was IJ acting wacky for anyone else last night? It chewed the post I tried to put up to bits.

So the story starts with the Runaways are on Hollywood Blvd. looking for Old Lace.

Guess who shows up looking to recruit Molly?

There is some discussion as to whether the X-Men have been successful in their work.

Nico uses her Rod and all hell breaks loose. This gives Gert and Kitty time to hang.

But look Old Lace has showed up. But not because Emma was looking for her ...

It's perfect. Friends found, lessons learned. The two groups make peace and separate. For now.

Aww, damn I miss Gert.

HAhahaha what's up with Kitty's seduction eyes at Gert there?

Hey, after all the times sexy older women have tried to seduce Kitty, Its about time she got to play pitcher for a change.

And when the universe drops another troubled female Jewish superteen into your lap, you just gotta go for it. I mean how often does Kitty get a chance like that.

Also, you should have put up the scene where Molly throws a truck at Piotr and he just totally no sells it. That was an awesome scene.

That's another thing they have in common; they both have adorable reptilian sidekicks.

They should start a club for people with adorable reptilian sidekicks. Gert, Kitty, Osiris (oh, Sobek!), and Rockslide (he'd probably claim Anole as his sidekick).

Um...Sobek isn't really welcome in the club anymore.

Yeah I noticed that.

I actually thought it was funny when considering Ellen Page's name has come a few times for Gert in a movie version of Runaways.

B'aaawww, Gert and Kitty. I wish Skottie Young drew the Runaways more often.

I do believe that you can post whole stories from Free Comic Book Day. *hint hint*

Er, any special reason Cyclops considers Mollie important?

Molly is a mutant, and this is after Decimation, I believe.

Yeah, they basically wanted to get all the mutants they could to the Mansion, but the Runaways (who were looking for Old Lace, who had run away) weren't hearing none o that. So cue the gratuitous fight scene.

Speaking of X-men and Runaways... was the semi recent Wolverine and Molly teamup very amusing? I was thinking up picking it up, but Runaways has been so all over the place lately...

I'd say it was reasonably amusing.

Actually, I'd probably say it was the most amusing thing in Runaways since Volume 3 began. Sadly, that's not saying very much. :(.

The back-up story wasn't great, though.

(Reply to this) (Parent)

Oh yes, it was.

It actually looked like Runaways was on a upswing for once, with this issue, and Immonen's issues coming up right after, but apparently it's gotten canceled.

It's one of the few comics I've bought recently. One of the reasons I did was to put scans up.

Then I, um, didn't do that. Maybe I should fix that.

It was both amusing and touching and one of the best Runaways stories since BKV left the book. Probably the best. In my opinion, anyway.

It is worth being picking up. One of the better non BKV Runaways stories.

What are Molly's powers, anyways? I get the gist of her being strong, but is there something other than the ability to dislocate Frank Castle's balls?

Superhuman strength and durability. I believe it's psionically based because she becomes fatigued after punching or being punched.

The psionic aspect is just fanon as of yet. Most because her parents were telepaths.

I don't really understand how her strength being psionically based would cause her to become fatigued after using it.

Was this after the body count of younger X-folk trippled? Because if it was I wish one of the Runaways would have said something about that. "Look, only one member of our "team" died! How about you guys huh? Yea, thought so."

Thanks for that scan. :)

I find it slightly comical that this minor brawl with the X-men caused more destruction of property than than pretty much everything else they have fought in LA (except for the giant monster right after Gert died).
