Yeah, but he wasn't freaked out about possibly getting back together with MJ then. That has a tendency to make one do things one wouldn't usually do. I don't drink, and never have, but if I were really really nervous and freaked out about something, and in an environment where the hooch was flowing all around me, I think I might possibly indulge in a bit of the old Dutch courage myself. (Mind you, I'm not defending the storyline, just saying that it's not as implausible as all that. It's not the getting drunk part that bugs me so much, it's how he acts afterwards.)
