Jason Todd killing criminals shouldn't bother Tim Drake.

That's not how the rule works for the Batfamily. If they start not being bothered by killing criminals, then they're just other grimdark variations, and the biggest thing that precisely keeps them from grimdarkness is how stringent - some would say fanatical - they are about not killing, ever.
