Batman #641 vs. Battle for the Cowl #2
Upon rereading Under the Hood, I noticed something that I loved from Jason at the time and something that I wish had stayed consistant on, to be honest.

Batman #641

Yes, Jason, I do think it's ridiculous when they do that.

Oh, speaking of...

Not to rain on Jason's parade or anything, but if you're gonna be meta about it, you need to realize that the reason the prisons in Gotham seem to have a rotating door is the same reason no one's going to kill an A-list Batvillain, because writers will still want to write stories about them.

Obviously. Of course that leaves the characters in the rather awkward position of either simply never noticing/commenting on the paper prisons or blaming some internal comicverse cause of the 'problem.' The writers have decided to have Jason be partially motivated by it, so he has to address it somehow. In Jason's story the revolving doors exist and he doesn't have the luxury of blaming it on the writers...though I'm sure he'd love to do so.

The problem being that his motivation to do something about it leaves him to live in constant defeat and failure. :(
They threw Copperhead Manhunter's way, can't Jason get a bone to chew on every now and then?

True. It's especially weird to see him go off on 'Why didn't you kill the Joker?!' tangents when the obvious retort is 'Why don't you?!'

Yeah, I don't like the idea of disposable villains, but if they want to make Jason credible they really ought to start letting him clear out some of those persistent third stringers. Even the Great White Shark (or whatever it was) has had more success than him in that sense. Or maybe they should just do with him what they do with the Punisher, have him focus on street crime or something.
