Batman and Robin #2 preview up
Batman and Robin #2 preview up at IGN where we see Batman and Gordon interact for the first time, and unlike last time they met with Dick in the cowl, Gordon has an IQ greater than a fruit fly.

And from the DCUBLOG site;

This should not make me smile, and yet...

(This is the Andy Kubert variant cover)

Oh, and this is the first page of the issue itself

Hopefully Alfred will slap Dick upside the head for handling the Tim situation so badly, then make cookies for everyone....

Oh, and for those interested, here is a link to a page of original pencil Quitely art from issue #1, which seems to have an interesting little story attached to it. See if you can spot the difference before you read the description.

*nod* When Bruce tried to 'out' himself to Gordon in NML Gordon turned his back and told him to put the mask back on. Even going so far as to say 'if I wanted to know who you were I could have discovered it 10 years ago. And for all you know maybe I did.'

Which is as close to an admission as we're ever going to get that Gordon knows who he is, but won't officially let himself know it.

*nodnod* That scene in the comic was wonderful...and Rudka did a great adaptation in the No Mans Land Novel too. (which I later got signed by Greg...)

I also remember a similar scene from the BTAS episode "Over the Edge". Most of the ep was a Scarecrow-induced nightmare as Batgirl imagined that her own death in the line of duty would result in Jim Gordon declaring all-out war on Batman. At the end of the ep, she decided to tell her dad the truth about her being Batgirl. Gordon stopped her, saying, "You're a grown woman and I don't have to know everything. And in this case I can't know. But I want you to know that I'm proud of you. All of you."

Yeah, that was a freaking awesome episode. I was watching that the other day, and you know they would have never made that episode if the show was still on Fox.

Love the fight between Batman & Bane in that one.

I'm sure someone will remember what book this was from, but there was a Batstory (official one) somewhere where Gordon had long since moved on and someone, either his kid or partner, was told by Gordon to find his secret files. In those files, which I like to think I remember was something bat-related, it showed that Gordon had known for a long long time that Batman was Bruce Wayne, but choose not to tell.

Dang, someone remember what that was from, because now I want to reread it.
