You know, my whole life, everyone I know, and everyone on TV and documentaries and everything, has always pronounced that planet "YUR-ehn-us," unless they're actively being funny. Like, it is my understanding that you must intentionally distort the word to make it dirty - I found "yur-AY-nus" to be really, *reaching* for a joke, like thinking just a picture of a hot dog is inherently hilarious for being vaguely phallic, even when I was eight.

But that seems implausible to me now, given the frequency and context with which I see that play on words made. Is this just a localization thing? Is "yur-AY-nus" actually a widely recognized legit standard pronunciation?

From what I've heard it used to be UR -AY-nus but was changed to YUR-ehn-us. But peopel pronounce it either way and always have.

I only picked it because I'd been watching Sailor Moon S again so when I think gay and planets I think Uranus and Neptune. Also Saturn but I'm less sure why, possibly because when iw a slittle and only the first Sailor Moon series had been released I made up my own sailor scout that was a boy and was Sailor Saturn. It's hard when you hang out with girls that want to play girl shows, I didn't want to be Tuxedo Mask.

	WHAT is Hawkgirl doing with her mouth there? It doesn't look like she's screaming or shouting - the rest of her face is too relaxed for that - but her mouth is too far open for a 'hmm, that's weird' sort of open-mouth look, or, for that matter, a cough or a sneeze (again, neither of which are likely given the rest of her face). The thing is, though, that the top and bottom halves of her face are telling different stories. Judging just by her mouth, she could well be singing - hell, she could be singing the lead in 'Carmen', considering how far open it is - but look at her eyes. Those are THOUGHTFUL eyes, not singing eyes. THEY fit the thought balloon perfectly, but then you have the mouth, and it bungles everything up. The eyes are saying 'hmm, what peculiar animals', while the mouth is saying 'La-LAAAA!' or 'AAAAAA!' or something. It just makes me wonder what on Earth the context of the original image is.
