By Request
[info]dustbunny105 requested the Batfamily being familial.

Or, as [info]wal_lace suggested when I posted this on the old s_d: Alternate title: Wonder Girl Makes A Booty Call.
(Her biggest regret? That she didn't tell Dick to bring Batman along too.)

From Detective 474. Story by Steven Englehart, Art by Marshall Rogers and Terry Austin.

I'll bet you are, Dick. I'll just bet you are.

Heh, when Robin looked down in the second panel of the third page and said, "Nuts!" I didn't think he was talking about his belt.

When this got posted on S_D 1.0 I literally laughed out loud for a good five minutes after seeing that panel. This is the crackiest thing I've seen in a while.

That's one of my favorite out-of-context panels ever. I think I've seen it before.

Awwww... Batman and Robin laughing WITH each other just for the heck of it! Banter! Honest to goodness friendly banter... THOSE were the days...

Yeah, how dare Batman be able to express emotion and friendship with his son!

I'd much rather have a Batman who is a deep enough character to be able to embrace multiple story formats without it appearing THAT contrived.

SQUEE~ THANK YOU~

This is a really cute scene. The idea of Dick learning a lot about girls from Bruce makes me giggle like an idiot.

No problem! Maybe somebody else will post more. I'm going to keep my eye out. And about these scans, honestly, I have to wonder if Dick was just trying to be kind, there, because Batman doesn't seem to me to be all that knowledgeable about the ladies at all. It DOES make Batman goofily happy to hear Dick tease him about his girlfriend, though.

Kinda sad, considering current continuity, that here we Bruce telling Dick, "If the Titans need you, go to it!" just as Dick rides off to the meeting when the group will break up.

Not to mention how mellow Bruce is about Dick spending a lot of time with two females.

To be fair, in the Geoff Johns Teen Titans (a run I generally disliked for any number of reasons), there was a moment when Bruce tells Tim that he feels he should join the new team, because he wants Tim to be with his friends.

It is ironic that the most important TT meeting is the last meeting. (For a while.)

And yes on Bruce's mellowness. Even for this era, I don't think I've seen anything else with him quite this laid back.

Yeah, I've always liked this scene. Even back then, it was fairly rare to see Bruce and Dick just horsing around like old pals.
Incidentally, any ideas as to to just where that giant chess set comes from? They're all trophies from various cases - what case did THAT one come from? (And how on Earth did they manage to get it into the Batcave? Does the place have a fifty foot wide loading door, or what?)

Most of them will be dismantled and reassembled (Which is only wise with things which may have gimmicks hidden in them), and as the Batcave has concealed entrance and exits for the Batplane and the Batsub I'd say it probably has some fairly large access when required.

I don't know where the chess set came from, but now I wish I did.
