Two pages from Justice League of America 31, and the story behind them
In the latest issue of JLA, there's a short scene between Red Arrow and Black Canary. Those pages have an interesting behind-the-scenes story to them, as Dwayne McDuffie revealed on a message board some time back.

Why a simulation of a graveyard, you perhaps wonder. Here's your answer.

Some readers were discussing the fate of Hawkman and Hawkgirl in Final Crisis and whether or not they died. McDuffie chimed in with:

I wrote a scene set at their gravesite that I recently had to quickly rewrite into something not very good.

Which prompted the following exchange.

Reader: Do you actually enjoy writing JLA? It just seems to be constant editorial rewrites and bad art.

McDuffie: No, I don't.

Ok, juding these by their connection to another storyline, even if it's remote, then a few of these need to be edited.

BATMAN: CACOPHONY #3 (OF 3)
BLACK LIGHTNING: YEAR ONE #5 (OF 6)
THE MIGHTY #2
SECRET SIX #7
SOLOMON GRUNDY #1 (OF 7)
STRANGE ADVENTURES #1 (OF 8)
SUPERGIRL: COSMIC ADVENTURES IN THE EIGHTH GRADE #4
TERROR TITANS #6 (OF 6)
TRINITY #40
BATMAN CONFIDENTIAL #27
BOOSTER GOLD #18
GREEN ARROW/BLACK CANARY #18
R.E.B.E.L.S. #2
SIMON DARK #18
SUPERMAN/BATMAN #56
TITANS #11
TRINITY #41
BLACK LIGHTNING: YEAR ONE #6 (OF 6)
SUPER FRIENDS #13
TINY TITANS #14
TRINITY #42
VIGILANTE #4
BATMAN: GOTHAM AFTER MIDNIGHT #11 (OF 12)
BATMAN: THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD #3
JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA #31
TRINITY #43
THE WAR THAT TIME FORGOT #11 (OF 12)
WONDER WOMAN #30

None of the slashed ones couldn't be read by themselves, but they do reference events from another series--usually FC--that could potentially confuse readers unfamiliar with said events.

Wow, I don't know I ended up with Justice League on that list. My mistake. It's probably one of the biggest victims of excessive interconnectedness out there.
