Who: Jason and Cady
What: Jason isn't a drunk anymore
When: Bendy time
Where: Their house
Warnings: They may have a serious conversation but really, anything can happen.
Since coming out of rehab, things seemed to be going well for Jason. He found himself a job at a non profit volunteer office for Salem as a whole. There wasn't a main focus, it was to just help with whatever needed help and Jason was down for doing that because he wanted to do something good and focus on something good instead of focusing on the bad. Which was basically his life as a whole. It often dragged him down a very long and winding hole of darkness. His sisters, the people who were involved, it would always be around him but he needed to find a different way to react and doing this, helping people, it was what he wanted to do. The Wellness Center helped him find a job, but it was Jason who was keeping the job. He came to work on time, he did what he needed to do and he was learning the ropes.
He used to do volunteer work back at home, so it wasn't much of a different. And home, he actually went away to work and help people. Here, he got to go home to his girlfriend everynight. It was rewarding. He'd been clean for months. Not a drop of alcohol, but that didn't mean that the temptation wasn't there. It would always be there. It was a disease and it was something that he would always have a problem with. The thing with that was, his girlfriend did drink. And it was hard. Very fucking hard if he was honest.
But, he didn't live along with Cady. He also lived with her brother. Who was pretty creepy, he couldn't even lie about that. He was creepy and Jondy had told Jason that her brother wanted to help him. Personally, Jason didn't want his help, but that was only because it was a personal matter. It was what he was dealing with it, but it wasn't just him, it was the people around him. And his counselor thought it was a good idea to let other people in, especially if they were good influences. The thing was, he wasn't sure about Damien. There was something about him that was a little unsettling.
Jason knew if he didn't want it, he wouldn't want it. And that was all there was to it. So he was trying. He was. He just wasn't sure how long it would last.
He had gotten off of work and he went by and picked up food. Even for her brother. He brought it home and saw Cady on the sofa. He leaned over, giving her a kiss before he disappeared into the kitchen and set the take out on the kitchen table.
"I brought dinner," he said, calling out to her and nearly two seconds later, she was there. He smiled over at her. "I hope you're hungry." He got the whole nine. Apps, entrees and even some cheesecake for dessert.
"How was your day?"
Normally, they'd be out, at a club or bar, drinking and having a blast and now ... things seemed different. He knew that would be a problem. He didn't want it to be, but the dynamic of their relationship had changed. And she stayed, that meant something. But he wasn't sure how she was thinking. Part of him was afraid to ask.
