"They just don't think I'm serious about you." Which could have been true because Jason had never really been serious about anything in his life. Except for his need to be seriously away from Rosewood, seriously out of Alison's life and seriously into just being one hundred percent selfish. Things were different now. He was feeling better, he hadn't had alcohol and he wanted to show them that he was serious about her. He wasn't sure a dinner would help with that, but it was a start.
He looked up at her from where he was sitting and reached for her hand. "Look, if you're not ready, you're not ready. I know Spencer and Alison can be ..." He trailed off from that because really, they could probably be every name in the book at one time or another. Especially Alison. But nobody was perfect, just like he wasn't.
"Extra, but I know they both care about me, which means they'll care about you." Eventually. Right? He wasn't sure, but again, this was just a good start to see how things could go. "And you won't be alone. You'll have me and Damien there. Do you think he'll want to tag along?" Jason asked, not really sure about Damien. He seemed a little off to Jason and some part of him wouldn't be sorry if he wasn't around, but obviously, if he did show up, then it was all the better. He wanted Cady to be comfortable.
"We can even go out to a restaurant so we're in public and it's not opening ourselves up to anything that we don't want to deal with." Like Alison's opinions on everything. And for that matter, Spencer's. Maybe being in public would help with that, but Jason had a feeling it wouldn't.
