[The fully-stocked bars that accompany each of Soldier's game are always impressive, but today's is truly a masterpiece of boozology. Enough liquor to kill the entirety of Sabra La Tau sits on its magnificent shelves. Watch out for the antifreeze.]

It isn't a resemblance of physical characteristics.

[Takes another slow drink. looking down at the symbol beside them, watching as the two halves slowly rotate around each other.]

I would say it's that.

I am not one to speak on what constitutes whole, and what incomplete. Simply that the shape of one defines the shape of the other.

[Pulls a bit of sleeve over his hand, and brushes away the outer line of the yang.]

Just as how a change in curvature redefines the space the other would fill.

My name comes from April 1st, but "Watanuki" isn't derived from the reading of the characters themselves.

I take it that is a date with some meaning, for it to be so encoded.

That's right. It's the day when you traditionally change from winter to summer clothing. And with kimono, that means removing the extra layers and padding. "Wata o nuku."

I would not rightly say there is enough of you to be much comparable to padding.

[weak laugh]

Well -- no. But the idea of it, I guess. When you take it out, it's still kimono-shaped. It's like making two kimono from one.

And hence finding the analogy particularly resonant.

[Dusts off his sleeve, and resting his glass back on his hand, much as uf it were a teacup rather than a glass of particularly potent alcohol.]

Even when it answers no questions, the more I learn of you the less I find any of it surprising.

But far from unbelievable, given the rest.

I would hope you have some indication the years have passed well, at least.

I have only heard such phrasing when referring to the memories regained in the wake of the last tapestry.

To you believe yourself dissimilar enough from your past to warrant such a separation?

Divorced not only from your other memories, but from all those you had previously remembered meeting, unless any should happen to be equally long-lived.

I think I may have seen Kurogane-san and Fay-san multiple times, but I can't be sure. Doumeki is ... long dead. Syaoran too.

And yet both are here, and Doumeki at least does not seem to be of an age that one would associate with producing descendants.

Was everyone here collected after some point of termination?
