Welcome to RPG-Connect! This community was designed as the middle ground for rpg advertising communities on insanejournal. When I was browsing IJ, I came across two types of ad communities: the over-restricted and the under-restricted. To me, most of the communities had lost it's personal touch with the roleplaying world. Here at RPG-Connect, our goal is to help quality players and games find one another. DREAD SOUTH
// Dread South is a southern gothic horror game that takes place in the fictional town of Angelica, where a mysterious entity called Arcady has made a pact with the residents. The premise relies on story telling, development and character relationships. The focus is on story development through written prose. There is less emphasis on ic socials media and visual media posting. We are looking for people who are ready to participate in plots and the setting; no ghosting after successfully applying a character. We're a great group of people that love to plot and believe that kindness and communication are the best way for a collaborative writing game to have longevity. We opened in March of 2022! All applications are open with particular need for the the leader of the Witches and sect members for the Verity wolf pack, psychics, Hellhounds, and church parishioners . We do most of our communicating through discord. We know it's a rich premise but we are dedicated to helping you integrate your characters! //

A panfandom game
PREMISE
For years, the TARDIS traveled throughout time with her Doctor. Together, they visited many important events in time, met people and creatures from all walks of life, and had adventures worth telling stories about. And though the face of her Doctor changed from time to time, he was still hers, and she was happy to travel throughout space and time.

And then, one day, her Doctor was gone. How he disappeared, she did not know. He just vanished. Distraught, the TARDIS began to travel through space and time, searching for him. But no matter how hard she looked, she could not find him. So, she decided to use her powers in different ways. She began to pull people inside of her, hoping that one of them might be her Doctor.

But none of them were her Doctor. In fact, she began to pull people from different universes, universes with no Doctor at all. And the people that she has pulled that know the Doctor, none of them seem to know her Doctor. Even the ones that are the Doctor themselves. None of them are her.

So the TARDIS travels, to different times, universes, and worlds, searching for her Doctor. The people that she pulls from other universes are free to roam the TARDIS as they please, and explore these new times and universes, and face the challenges that come with them.

Will the TARDIS ever find what she is looking for? Will the people she's taken ever find their way home?

Phoenix Cove
Where you'll rise again
PREMISE
Phoenix Cove Maine is a small island town just off the coast of greater Maine. Connected to the mainland by a two lane bridge, Phoenix Cove was settled in the mid 1800s, by individuals looking to start over after the Civil War. Due to desire to see the Nation, live and rise again, these settlers named the island, Phoenix Cove, after the mythical bird known for rising from the ashes. With its long-standing history, it isn't uncommon to find families that have been on the island for over a century.

The original industry that supported the Phoenix Cove economy, was of course lobster fishing, as with most of coastal Maine. However, over time the area has transformed from a small fishing village to a fairly urban area. That isn't to say the waters around the island are quiet now, though. They have simply become more popular for recreational use than industry. The shore is often lined with pleasure cruises, whale watches, small yachts and party boats.

Though small, Phoenix Cove offers everything you might need. A beautiful tourist destination, the island supports, two bars, several restaurants, a beautiful B&B, salon, shopping and an art gallery as well as gorgeous beaches. For our full time residents, Phoenix Cove offers a library, schools, vet clinic, a hospital, grocery stores and more. While each establishment is small and locally owned, all your needs will be met, with friendly service by pleasant locals. The town also hosts several public events each month, giving plenty of opportunity to make friends, enjoy the sights and have fun. So stop on by for a visit. You may never want to leave.

A fine institution for young minds and bodies to grow and learn.


Based on the Broadway musical 'Spring Awakening' (and, by extension, the original play) Wedekind Academy is a modern-day AU RP set at F. Wedekind Academy, an isolated, ultra-conservative boarding school. Classes are segregated by sex (male & female, boys & girls, there is nothing beyond that, don't even bring it up). There is no internet access and the library only carries 'approved' books. Discipline is strict and physical. But perhaps there's a little bit of rebellion running through the place all the same.

BERMUDA

Welcome to Bermuda, a small, remote island in the North Atlantic Ocean off the coast of North America, known for its pink-sand beaches, crystal clear waters, and exotic natural wonders!

…among other things.

As part of the infamous Bermuda Triangle (or the Devil's Triangle, as some call it), there is a legend to be had, and with this legend comes chaos. A tropical paradise greets you at first glance, but upon further investigation, you'll notice that the island is deserted and appears to have been for years.

Those living here just vanished during their regular daily routine on March 15th, 2010. Do you know the story of Roanoke Island? Yeah, it's kind of like that. You'll find mysterious carvings of random words and symbols scattered over 21 square miles. What do they mean? Do they hold clues to what might've happened?

Only time will tell if they're total nonsense or justifiable warnings.

The game has been open since the beginning of March!

Deep underneath Angelica, TN lives a force that was brought into this dimension by a pact of magic and blood. The original groups made a deal with this being not knowing if it was good, evil, or something else entirely. In exchange for sacrifices of body, heart, and soul, each group was given special abilities that keep the town from erupting in a state of chaos. Those that have pledged are bound forever.

Dread South is an old-school, plot-driven game with a southern gothic vibe, supernatural and horror themes, and a cast of original characters. We are looking for players who are interested in story-heavy, character relationships. As moderators, and as a collective, we are very into a collaborative and safe place for writers to share ideas. How well you write is great but how involved you are, how imaginative you are, and how willing you are to put yourself out there means so much more.


We are looking for the leader of the Witch sect but want to round out all of the sect groups.

We have created a list of pre-made character types to draw inspiration from but we are also looking for your creative OCs too!

Writers here strive for the dramatic, tension-based aspects of storylines. Dread South is not a ‘slice of life’ game.

Premise

You are alone. Your people are alone.


Sometimes greed goes too far, it's even worse when that greed has access to technology they don't have a grasp of yet, it's even worse when that greed has magic they have no grasp of.

The year was 2374 and everything should have been fine. The Sol system had long been fighting with itself. Who had the right to roam freely? Who had the right to technology? Who did space belong to? Unfortunately, someone finally decided they were going to take what they wanted. The only problem? They weren't ready for the deck of cards they were about to draw.

There was an explosion, no one could explain it. No one can explain it even now.

Nearly 300 years later, it's 2672.

Cities were refounded, governments fell apart to be rebuilt at a local level, there was no possibility to travel beyond the asteroid belt any more. Say bye bye to hundreds of years of work to make a few of the moons and asteroids around Jupiter and Saturn habitable. Forget it. Donezo. Over with. Cancelled.

Those who survived were irreparably changed. But not just changed, tossed far into the future, ripples surrounding them as they stood on ground they once lived on - now long abandoned, a shimmer of light in the distance where a singular building had survived, thrived. And it wasn't just them either, there were new faces - other faces, new memories. But they'd survive again, they had to.

Welcome to the era of scavengers. Welcome to the age of mercenaries. Welcome to the period of every damn man for themself.

SUBTLE KNIVES

PREMISE
Once upon a time there was a knife so sharp, it could slice through the fabric between worlds. It was destroyed but now someone has taken the shards to remake one knife into the tips and edges of many, and the worlds are being opened up.

There are windows into other worlds. And people are coming through these windows.

Subtle Knives is a panfandom slice of life small town game with a giant mystery at it's core, a shadowy church organization, witches, a polar bear getting drunk in an alley, and lots of room to grow. And daemons. Everyone gets a daemon.

Will you choose to pursue the mystery or settle down and try to find happiness? Will you try to find your way back home? Will you challenge the powerful Magisterium, side with witches, or just keep your head down and work at the docks? And what will you do when you wake up to find an alethiometer sitting by your bed, trying to tell you something about your future?

A Post-War Harry Potter AU


Wounds that are picked at will never scab. Come to the Retreat, where we know the trauma and hurt sown by two generations of Wizarding Wars, and where we will help you find the understanding to try to heal.

Just mind the hands that won't let those wounds clot.


Done and Dusted is an AU Harry Potter game set in 2002, with its canon point divergence being post-HBP. So while the war ended and Harry did his hero thing, it didn't necessarily have such a neat and happy ending. We all know that major events such as this has an effect on people in both positive and negative ways. This game's intention is to explore the more messy and unpretty effects and how it affects both the characters and those around them. Done and Dusted is centered around a dark plot and will have dark themes.

Patients will not be able to use magic on the Retreat premises, and have no idea that the person in charge has every intention of ensuring mental wellness won't be achieved.

Maine has always considered itself a great state: from the deep pine woods to the bays and the rocky coasts, Maine boasts some of the most picturesque areas that the United States has to offer. However, with tourism down, and the cost of housing rising, the Governor turned his sights to building up the more underutilized coastal islands.

Their first project was Portariva– an already some-what developed small town Island. The Governor put money into restructuring the downtown areas, giving liberal loans for start-up businesses, and just on the residential side they constructed Alcove Apartments, geared for young professionals and upstarting families.

Portariva is an original character game set in the fictional island of Portariva, off the coast of Maine. The island is based off Vinalhaven, Maine. This game is a slice of life game that centers on the lives of those in the apartment buildings and the surrounding area. This game supports diversity and is LGBTQIA+ friendly.
