Ex Machina RP - a futuristic sci-fi RP on Inksome [09 Dec 2008|05:04pm] PREMISE In 2015, Valley Dynamics, a renowned global technological giant, developed bio-mechanical androids called NeohumansTM. They were hailed as a breakthrough in artificial intelligence and the next generation in computer technology, NeohumansTM became available to anyone who could afford them at the time. Unknown to the public, around the same time that NeohumansTM were being developed, Valley Dynamics was also working on a more subtle version of bio-mechanical androids called Facsimiles that can blend seamlessly into the general population. Now in 2020, whether it be from outside influence or internal, NeohumansTM and Facsimiles alike are experiencing glitches in their programming. Only a small number of cases have occurred so far, just small things that Valley Dynamics have managed to take care of one way or another. But something bigger is coming and no one, not even those at Valley Dynamics, knows what it is, when it will happen, and least of all why. All info can be found at our website and the mod journal. Durmstrang Uber Alles - a Durmstrang-based HP game on Inksome [09 Dec 2008|05:23pm] PREMISE The wizarding world goes far beyond the walls of Hogwarts. The Durmstrang Institute was created by German scholars for the magical instruction of Eastern European wizards sometime after the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry was established. In its inception, Durmstrang accepted all promising students who had magical aptitude. However, the rise of the wizard Grindelwald and increasing tensions between the social classes resulted in the expulsion of any non-pureblooded students. Now, known Muggleborns and halfbloods are no longer accepted, and the school is known for pureblooded wizards, study of Dark Arts, rigid social classes, and tradition. Students that graduate from Durmstrang are the most talented, the strongest, the brightest, and the best. Stakes are high, and not all students will succeed. Some may never make it to graduation. What began as a silly little prank among friends has ended up as a school wide fad. A few ambitious Gryffindors decided that since they were unable to find dates to the Halloween Ball, they would create a journal were they could post 'single ads'. This journal was accessible by any female or male in seventh year and served as an anonymous way for girls and boys to 'hook-up'. A Slytherin who wished to remain anonymous has taken the idea on step further. He set up a service where for two galleons anyone could send in their ad and have it open for response from anyone from the four houses. He assigned each person a codename that they could use when responding and required that the users only contact each other anonymously in the ad journal until the springtime when he is planning a revealing ball when everyone who spoke in the ads could meet face to face. He calls himself 'Romeo". When Severus Snape, the current headmaster, finds out about the journal ad service, he consults the teachers at Hogwarts. It is concluded that while inappropriate on so many levels, it is fostering a sense of togetherness. It is bringing together students from rival houses. Entries from this unknown source appear in the journals weekly, sometimes even daily; printing everything there is to know about the lives and scandals of former Hogwarts graduates. She may use initials, but just about everyone knows who the rumors are about. Will your character end up on Gossip Girl's daily dishings?
