The Doctor. He's got a different face now. He's had a couple, actually.

The Doctor, The Doctor I travel with, he's...different. Different than him. Different than the Doctor who saved me. [She's never put it like that before. Her Doctor. And it hurts all over again. She still loves him. She isn't in love with him. But she loves him. It's just sometimes she still misses him, misses the way he was.] He's still the same. Underneath it all. It's just...he's not very good with people.

[Martha is curious about this other companion, so she sends her an address of a nearby pub and a description of herself...and hopefully they're in the same London. Time would tell. In any case, Martha leans against the bar and orders a pint for herself and the other woman. They're going to have a lot to talk about, and whether she was right or wrong about the other Time Lords, Martha needs to know. Memories of the Master don't fade quickly.]

[After her conversation with the Doctor, Clara's feeling more alone than ever. He isn't her Doctor, and she isn't his Impossible Girl. She tries to remind herself that her Doctor was him once, that somewhere inside they must be the same man. But he hasn't met her yet. And he doesn't seem to like her much.

She's starting to think she liked him better the last time they met.

The invitation is a welcome distraction and she quickly accepts, finding the pub without much trouble. When she finds the woman she's supposed to be meeting, she offers her hand with a smile that's more sad than happy.]

Clara Oswald. You wanted to talk about the Doctor?

[She still had a few good manners.]

[She gives the other woman a genuine smile and offers her hand.]. Martha Jones. Mostly, I wanted to meet you. [She couldn't say that she is more comfortable than the Doctor about the thought of other Time Lords, but it's silly of him to try to shut people down. He has always been difficult, though. Parts of who he is.]. He doesn't like to think he can be wrong, and he really doesn't like talking about Gallifrey and the others. Don't let it bother you. But, I want to know about my Doctor versus yours. What do you really mean by that? [Regeneration was something she was aware of, but never had to experience. Thankfully, the Master had chosen not to.]

	No, he really doesn't. [It's possible her Doctor liked being wrong even less. He hated not having the answer. But she's been asked a question.] He changes. Not just his face. His personality. Sometimes I think he just needs a good slap. [Donna's better at that than Martha. Martha, like a good middle child of divorced parents, just stubbornly crossed her arms to make him talk.]. How long have you travelled with him?

[Clara's expression clearly agrees with her on that. Sometimes he needs a very good slap. And having patience for the Doctor is quite unlike having patience for anything else. There's only so much you can take.

Of course, she had just agreed to have her memory wiped and rob a bank with him. She frowned.]

Three years before he...before he changed. A bit since. I think he appreciates me more. [Though she can't say why she thinks that; it's just feeling she has.] But he shows it less. Like he doesn't care.

[Clara's right--Martha had to leave the Doctor, because there's a limit. He isn't bad, but he is different, and there is only so much someone can take. Someone should take, for their own mental health.]

More than...? [What? Because while Clara likely means the earlier Doctor, Martha knows something of the Doctor's revolving door of companions and his judgment of them.]
