[Fast talking, mostly to himself.] Multi-universe convergence spot, that's a new one, or at least feels like a new one, could be an old one. Why a hotel? I suppose it nods to the temporary stay, but where's it all generating from. Or for. What's the purpose? Other than a brilliant nick of time, thanks for that. Bit rude not to ask though.

[As if remembering this was broadcasting somewhere.] Hello I'm the Doctor.

[It takes awhile. Maybe while he figured out how to use it, or how to dial, or because he wasn't ready to do it yet. There was the chance it was a trick, and if it was, oh he'd be very angry indeed, and no one liked that, especially not him. But if it wasn't. The Doctor burned a sun once to have some last words with Rose Tyler. What if it wouldn't take that much this time?

It took time, but eventually, the phone rang.]

[Waiting is agony. It might work but it might not, she has no idea where he is-- she's not even entirely sure where she is. Different universes, different planets, and it might not work. She wants to hope, but at the same time she doesn't want to be disappointed. She should be trying to figure out which universe she's in, how this journal ties in, but instead she waits for her phone to ring.

When it finally does, she ends up staring at it for a few seconds before picking up. Hesitantly.] Doctor? Are you there?

[It's her voice, and it could be replicated, it's possble. There were all manner of cruel things in the world capable of doing it, but there was something in her intonation. He'd know it anywhere. If he lived another thousand years, he'd know it, of that he was sure.] Rose Tyler. [She could hear the soft humming of the TARDIS on the other end. The last time he saw her was painful enough, the second time on the beach. But it didn't stop him.] Where are you?

Weeeeell. [He drawls in that way of his, smiling.] Anyone can use your name on a journal. [He's trying to control the emotion in his voice too, and even with all his years, it's difficult.] I'm in the TARDIS, floating no where in particular. I'll go to Earth, see which one it is. And if it's the other, I'll find you. [He hesitates there, remembering the last time they saw one another.] Unless you'd rather not. Is Handy there? [He doesn't want to ask really. Saying goodbye was necessary. It doesn't mean he liked it.]

	Yeah, but I'm still taking my I told you so. [A nod against the phone, even though he can't see.] A lot of them are similar. I've been-- well, sort of dimension hopping but it's not exact. [There's a long pause on the other side as his head wraps around it.] You've been trying to get back to me. But you haven't seen me again yet, have you? [The Doctor hasn't decided yet how he feels about it. Really his feelings are deciding things all on their own at the moment, he might as well give up and take a load off.] We're from different times. Perfect, isn't it? Just like us. Different universes, different times. [He messes with the console of the TARDIS just out of habit.]

Yes. Yes and no. Bit complicated. [He leans on the console and squints, thinking it over.] Listen I'm setting my sights on Earth, hopefully the one you're at. You remember where we parked when I first regenerated? That's where I'll be. [It wasn't far from her Mum's place, so it was a good landmark. And partially to prove that she was who she said she was, because only Rose would know that.]
