Attention 30 Seconds To Mars RP'ers [28 Mar 2008|06:09am] I'm looking for fellow 30 Seconds to Mars rp'ers who are interested in starting a PSL community with the band. It would be for the band only. Journals would be kept by each of the guys and both AIM, threading and posting of logs would take place. I am open to discussing these as I realize not all people are comfortable with posting logs or even threading. However, AIM will be required. Here's the catch... I'm looking for mature rp'ers only. If you're not 28 or older don't bother inquiring. I'm open to discussing plots and idea's. However, all players must be open to Letocest. Yes, that's Shannon and Jared being together. Ever at the Ready [28 Mar 2008|09:25am] - Mod Journal - RP Comm - OOC Comm - Graphics - - Plot - Rules - Character List - Played-Bys - Team Info - Apply - - Contacts (F-Lock) - Advertise (F-Lock) - So we all know that Captain Jack Harkness runs Torchwood Three, that Torchwood One was destroyed in the Battle of Canary Wharf, that Torchwood Two is headed by "a very strange man" and that Torchwood Four is currently misplaced. Well that's all fine and dandy, but things are about to start changing. Torchwood One is reopening just outside of London and is now known as Torchwood 1.1 and Torchwood Two's leader has been replaced. Torchwood Three of course isn't any different, with the exception that Jack has been missing for a bit. The big thing is that Torchwood Four is back on the map, headed by the same person it had been before it was 'misplaced'. It seems Torchwood Four, headed by one Major Charlie Sheppard, had a minor malfunction involving Cardiff's rift. In fact, Torchwood Four is located right near Torchwood Three, or at least it was until it and its team got pulled into another universe. Which is where Lucian Devereaux comes in. It seems that he got a hold of a Time Agent's vortex manipulator in the far future and has been using it at his own pleasure. Well, until it backfired and he was sent to the present and made the rift flux, sucking Torchwood Four into it. Luckily, Major Sheppard wasn't there at the time. Now as for Lucian, he'd been jumping through time randomly and unwillingly as he tried to fix the vortex manipulator. During this time he realized that he'd jump from the present in Cardiff to some different point in time and then back. Along the way, he managed to bring back people with him who shouldn't be during that time, and that caused the rift to go haywire, also bringing people to the present that shouldn't be there: those that are dead, those who aren't born yet, and those in other dimensions. And so, Torchwood realized they needed to work extra hard to try and stop this and thus re-established Torchwood Four, somehow convincing Charlie to head it once more. And that is where we begin... Ever at the ready is a Torchwood/Doctor Who RP that allows for any character from either series (old and new) to be incorporated, as well as original characters! It takes place around the start of season two. We've only just started and we're looking for a majority of the canon cast still, including The Doctor (any of them) and most of Torchwood Three. We're also looking for bad guys and aliens to be hunted down, as well as people to fill up the other Torchwood Teams. If you think you're ready, then we're ready to have you join the team! [28 Mar 2008|03:18pm] In the year 500 B.C.E., long before the invention of the portkey, Herpo the Foul created what was known as the timekey. This would allow for anyone to come in contact with it to travel back to when it was created. However, there were several problems. One, very specifically being sending people far into the future, unable to return. Despite the fact that he had made thousands of timekeys, Herpo abandoned the project, going on to discover the basilisk instead. The world would not know of the timekeys, for they were doomed to failure. However, around 1200 A.D. they were rediscovered by Morgan le Fey. Having heard of the timekeys through extensive research, she attempted to perfect them. She succeeded. The timekeys began to send people back to the very moment she fixed them, people beginning to appear before her in the basement she used to conduct her research in secret. However, there was one thing she didn't count on. Merlin. He was informed of her research and set out immediately to put a stop to it. Morgana, in her last attempt to save what she'd done, hid them throughout England, most of them ending up right within Hogwarts. As more people appear before her, she will attempt to recruit them to her cause, hoping that they will all turn against Merlin and fight against him. There are those that escape, however. They are now forced to fend for themselves in a time that is not their own. There is only one safe place to go... Hogwarts. It does what it needs to to thrive, even when the changes that must be made are buried deep within the genes. Evolution. Sometimes it comes in baby steps, sometimes in giant leaps and bounds. Sometimes all it takes is one slight shift, and the change appears. This change is called mutation. The jump in human evolution that takes place in the early twenty-first century, is a mutation which causes enhancements in the known human condition. With some the change is known from birth, but it takes time in others to develop. The enhancements are unknown to most of the human population, and for most of those who share such a condition, are secrets best kept hidden. There is an apartment complex in Las Vegas, Nevada, whose occupants are specimens of this new generation of evolved humans. Most of them are hiding their special adaptations. Some have been living in their current apartments for a while now, and some are recent arrivals. It is unclear as to the motives of fate. The reasons for this specific group of people to be brought together at this specific time in this specific place are unknown. The only thing that is perfectly clear is that every character is a piece that interlocks with others, to make an amazing picture. There was once a time when the world accepted such magic, and the people who wielded it's power, embracing them completely. These unique individuals could raise the dead, create thunderstorms, even predict the future. But, as time went on and new concepts arose, what was once allowed and accepted ways of living life were now pressed to change. The way the old ways were viewed became twisted, turning what had once been a part of life into unspeakable evil in the eyes of the world. Those who wielded magic's power became the victims of various styles of execution and torture, before being sentenced to damnation. In the late 1400's, the fanatical attitude of the church took a turn for the worst. These acts were enough to shatter the willingness of those few families hiding in the hostile lands. To stay out of harm, they packed their things and left. Their destination: across the Atlantic ocean. With teleporting help from the Conjure family, they managed to settle down and live in peace for the better part of two hundred years. They were well liked by the local natives, bringing them what technological advances that Europe as well as the aid that their magical powers could bring. Among these primitive people, they were viewed as deities. It wasn't until the landing of the settlers that we have all been so familiarized to in our schools, that the new ways and the old clashed again. The families were forced to blend back into society, resorting back to hiding in plain sight. In 1692, however, the Salem witch hunts began. A Puritan was unfortunate enough to catch a glimpse of a man, a member of the Necromancer family, standing in the cemetary, well after the imposed curfew. All he could describe was the shape of a 'black man in the forest'. Thus, the trials began, the simple minded zealots believing that the 'black man' had been the devil himself. The negative attitude drove a young female member of the Divination family to wish misfortune on the misguided families of Parris and Williams. Elizabeth and Abigail began having fits, pitching about and wailing about things unseen. The result of this simple act of vengeance brought about the deaths of so many more. It was then that strict rules were placed upon the families. The elders of the magical families however, to prevent more confrontation, were one of the first groups of individuals to move to California in the pre-gold rush years. Back to a place of peace and serenity, it would then be an additional hundred or so years before others came upon them, making running an option no longer. It was time to conform, to blend in with the ever spreading population of 'regular' people. ( Like what you see so far? Why not finish reading our premise?) We don't have a specific "holds" for all of them, you just have to place the hold on the family page.
