HP AU: Done and Dusted - Gauging Interest [26 Feb 2022|02:25pm] dusted_mods Putting out a feeler to gauge interest in a post HBP Harry Potter AU game set a few years after Voldemort is killed. The game is based off a game called Done and Dusted which was run on Greatest Journal in 2006-2007. The idea is that the Battle of Hogwarts still happened, Voldemort still was killed, but we want to be able to say all of the unnecessary character deaths from book 7 didn’t have to happen! We also welcome original characters, but prefer there is some tie to canon (mention of a name in the books, distant relation, etc). We’re going to be very vague as far as what happened in Harry’s 7th year other than that there was a final attack on Hogwarts in Harry’s seventh year and he did kill Voldemort. But we leave it in shades of gray so that you can develop your character through this time as you see fit! The game is based on the premise of a mental institution dressed up as a “retreat” for patients to come and deal with problems caused by the war. People are coming to terms with their emotions, and coming to terms with former friends and enemies. Call it an emotional rollercoaster of character development. Patients at the retreat will either willingly admit themselves (good guys), be committed, or be incentivized to get time knocked off their sentence if they spend a term at the institution (hello, Death Eaters!). They will be required to attend weekly therapy sessions with the on-premise counselors while being kept an eye on under the careful eye (and hidden cameras!) of the director of the facility and the Aurors she has employed to keep things in order. Patients will be restricted from using magic in the form of casting spells while at the retreat, but creatures such as Werewolves will still undergo the magical changes that their condition demands they do (and yes, magical creatures are welcome!). Patients will also find that their emotions are heightened while on retreat grounds, feeling things much more intensely than they would normally. We’re going to host the game in a journal forum setting, either in InsaneJournal or Dreamwidth. The patients will be given journals that have been charmed so that they can communicate with other patients and staff through them (wizarding social media!). In game days will span over the course of a few to several real life days, depending on if there are events happening in game and how much time we feel an in game day needs. There will be official day changes posted in game so everyone knows what day we’re on, and what’s going on. If we can get interest from a few people we’re going to move forward in creating the platform and get moving! We already have the plot foundations worked out and it won’t take too long to get up and going if we are able to pique some interest. [01 Nov 2021|10:41am] mom_mod Multiverse of Madness An Panfandom Game PREMISE In 2018, Thanos was supposed to come to Earth with the Infinity Stones. He was supposed to fulfill his ‘grand purpose’. But he never showed up. In fact, his entire fleet was decimated and the Infinity Stones themselves seem to be disappearing from the universe. So, what happened? Two months before the Battle of Wakanda, mysterious portals had begun appearing with strangers (Newcomers) from other timelines and universes coming through. After discovering this, Tony Stark was able to re-route the phenomena to only appear at the Avenger’s Facility, where he and the rest of the Avengers of this world could help the Newcomers adjust and protect them. It was only a matter of time before things started going to hell. Eventually, the Avengers learned about Thanos and the Infinity Stones, but they discovered what happened to his fleet and that the stones were disappearing. There was no Blip (Snap), but strange things are now happening across the universe and on Earth. With every stone that disappears, things only get worse. Newcomers who come through can’t willingly go back. Some disappear mysteriously, others are trapped in this world. Portals open to other places, people can visit other worlds, but sometimes at a cost (loss of power, or complete physical transformation). And then, there are the times the portals act up and start spitting things out. That’s okay, though! Tony has it handled not really. And while the team still hasn’t quite figured out what’s going on, they’re determined to make it right. Several others have joined forces to help the Newcomers, including T’Challa who has officially granted them refugee status on this Earth by establishing a Wakandan Consulate in upstate New York (just don’t ask how they pulled that off). Even the Council of Mages was abolished. For a few thousand years, as chaos ensued and the world fell further and further into dystopia, a few hopeful people tried unsuccessfully to turn back the tide. Until one day in 3517, a young apprentice mage - hoping to safeguard the future of makind - led as many innocents as she could to a previously undiscovered underground cave and, a year later - in 3518 - attempted to open an outgoing portal to a parallel world, with the intention of bringing them all back when it was safe. But, due to her youthful inexperience, the mage's spell went wrong and, instead of creating a portal, she created several one way time slips, bringing people from different realities and time periods into her world, and trapping the cave and everyone in it - including those who come through the time slips - inside a time bubble that keeps them in 3518, where they have remained and thrived, ageless, for the last century and a half in real time. Upon arrival everyone is provided a cellphone, laptop, a small amount of money to get them started so they can find work, and keys to a home where they can set up residence. While the world was consumed with the Great War, many weren't aware of another war happening within it. Magical beings were being persecuted by the non-magical. The magical world was being burned to the ground and their retaliation was decimating the non-magical public. The Great Treaty was signed on December 25, 1919 after years of death on both sides. The non-magical agreed to no longer hunt or kill any magical being, even under the cover of religion. But their armistice came with a heavy price. Magical people and creatures would have their powers bound for 100 years. The Magical world, having a different concept of time and a healthy amount of self preservation, agreed in order to prevent their kind from being killed. The powers were bound on January 1, 1920. And quickly, magic once again became a fairy tale. Four generations of magical people and creatures were born without knowing their powers. The first generation may have believed their parents' stories, but by the fourth… well who is going to believe that they were really a vampire or a witch? A siren might have a gorgeous voice and come from a family of talented singers, but what did that prove? Only The Council knew the truth. A group of six magical beings entrusted with the history of the magical world. These were the only six magical beings in the world who still had their powers. People had all but forgotten the Great Treaty. On January 1, 2020, the binding ended. The Council had been preparing for the influx of magic, but there was no way to prepare for what was to come. One hundred years of magical beings breeding and marrying non-magical people had resulted into thousands and thousands of magical creatures, people, half-breeds, and hybrids. In Denver, the supernaturals run the scene. Humans are often mistreated, sometimes even considered slaves. As a result, a group of them known as the H-Resistance taskforce has risen up, determined to bring down the cartels currently in control of the city in favor of giving their kind a better life.
