WHO: Emmanuelle Mimieux & Sam Winchester.
WHEN: BACKDATED to 7pm, after this..
WHAT: Classic American Movie night.
WHERE: The living room of cabin 15.
RATING: PG is safe. Emmanuelle doesn't really curse.
Movie night, Emmanuelle couldn't remember the last time she actually sat down to watch a movie. Of course, working in a movie theater, she got to watch all the best sort of films - and all the worse. Most of her time was spent watching the worse of films. Nazi propaganda never made the best films, and it didn't help that she found the German language to be utterly disgusting. However, modern films have certainly "improved". The visual effects were better, and while she couldn't say much for the plot of recent films, the technology made things much easier for projectionists and theater employees alike. Regardless of how simple times were becoming, Emmanuelle couldn't recall the last time she actually sat down and watched a movie. This was something she could certainly appreciate. It also helped that with her entire cabin empty, except for herself, she didn't have to worry about offending anyone with the selection of films.
The smell of freshly popped popcorn wafted through the living room as Emmanuelle lounged on the couch. "The Saint of New York" rest across her lap, as she took a final drag from her clove cigarette before extinguishing in the ash tray next to the couch. Slender legs were tucked under her body as she immersed herself in Leslie Charteris' thrilling tale. There was only one other time that she attempted to read this book, and it was on the ill-fated afternoon where she learned about Fredrick Zoller's true infamy. She never did finish that book. However, since arriving at Ridgeway, she was greeted with a bookshelf filled with books from her era in the computer room. She really did have a soft spot for American Mystery Thrillers, and the books seemed to only improve with time.
Emmanuelle was a unique one at Ridgeway. While other employees at the resort seemed to complain about being tossed into this situation, Emmanuelle embraced it quietly. It was a nice change from what she knew. Growing up in Nazi occupied France was enough to put anyone over the edge, but for Emmanuelle, it was about growing up in Nazi occupied France while trying to hide her true identity and keep from being killed. Ridgeway was a nice change from all the hatred and violence that went on in 1944 France. Sure, there were aspects she missed - Marcel, for one. The language was another, and the allure of France - but she was willing to make sacrifices to try and live in a world that was more tolerant, and not have to hide anymore. It was safe to say that Emmanuelle was slowly becoming comfortable in this new environment.
Grabbing a piece of popcorn, she popped it in her mouth before turning a page in her book. All she could do now was wait, and hope that whatever movies Sam Winchester selected weren't going to be horrible. She needed a change from that Shrek movie, and Robin Hood, and that Iron Man movie. This might also be her chance to brush up on her English a little bit, hopefully Sam wouldn't mind.
