Who: Blaise and Maria What: The Engagement When: June 2016 Where: Seville, Spain Status: Backdated | Incomplete
Seville, Spain
Despite what everyone had told him, Blaise was not convinced he had gone overboard with this plan. He cleared it with Gregory and Draco. He had planned with her family and found out the important places in her life. He then took trips to Seville with her many times to plan the perfect place. He had thought about this. It was perfect: two years dating, six months of living together, and now it was time. It would give them a year to plan the wedding with her for a nice summer wedding. Time for them to adjust to each other. Time to adjust to being a family.
She had been amazing with Desmond. Better than he did at time. She was, at least, better with the moods than Blaise did. He had been better as the time gone on. The boy adjusted to having people around who wanted him. Maria had been better in adjusting to it at first, and she was why Blaise was able to get to a place now, three years later, where he was on a better level with his adopted son. The boy was with them in Spain, though right now he was out with Blaise’s parents instead. He needed to be alone with her for this.
It was unsurprisingly easy, as Maria was typically happy to show him more of her heritage. Seville was the only place where she was happy as a child. It was why he chose this place out of the entire world to propose. It was something that meant the world to her, and he wanted this to be just as significant. He had photographers waiting to capture the moment. They just finished lunch and were walking by the river in the sunlight. Maria was talking about some story from when she was growing up and he watched and smiled lightly. When they got to the apex of the bridge, he tugged her hand so she would pause and leaned on the stone wall, looking out over the water as people passed behind them.
