There was always a sense of wonder that came with going back to Seville. No matter how many times she came back there was always something just down right magical about the city that had felt more like home then the actual home she grew up in. Maybe it had something to do with it feeling like a treat growing up, and then it becoming a way for her to still be connected to her mum after she passed. Then it was the place her sister sought refuge, and now it was becoming a place she could share with her own family. The idea still threw her for a loop occasionally, just with how happy that made her. Much like all of her nieces and nephews she'd taken to Desmond right off. Maybe it had taken a bit for them to really get on steady ground, but Maria had given him her love right from the start. Opened herself up to give the love and patience that both him and Blaise deserved. In all honesty, it was probably becasue she understood all too well what it was like to not have a parental figure make you feel unwanted. And Maria was determined to never let Desmond feel that way coming from her. She knew it would take time, and there had been some rough patches, but right now, it all felt...right. In fact she was even going to drag him to Alcázar tomorrow, hoping that he would enjoy how stunning it was.
But that was tomorrow, and thanks to Blaise's parents, they had time to slip away and have a little bit of an afternoon date together. It had been a really lovely holiday so far, but it was also nice to just have some time to themselves. She had done her best to get him to relax and have fun this whole trip, and right now was no exception. They both worked so hard that to lose themselves in a city where really, the majority of people didn't know them, or who they were. They were just two people, in love, enjoying the sites of the city. She was so proud of how much progress Blaise had made over the last few years, with his son, with his work, with his own personal growth, Maria honestly felt lucky that she got to witness it. This was everything she'd wanted and she was thriving. Very few doubts rolled into her head now that she didn't deserve this, it was pretty peaceful.
"...and then wham right into the water I went. They thought they were really clever, let me tell you." she laughed fondly at the memory and the dozens similar to it. She was sure she'd told that story before, but it didn't matter, it never stopped meaning something to her. She was about to ask him something when he pulled her aside gently. "Hello." she beamed up at him, squeezing his hand gently. "I know I was rambling. Still." she didn't sound sorry one bit, but still saw the smile on his face and her stomach did a flip flop like it did on occasion when she still looked at him. This incredible feeling of being the luckiest person alive.
