There it was, that smile of his. That full on smile that showed those cute little dimples he had. It was that look on Blaise's face that made Maria feel like this was actually real and not some weird dream she was having. This was such a far cry from the first time she'd gotten engaged and she couldn't be more thankful. The last time was just being told and eventually her ex had shown up with a ring. Putting on that ring had felt like a weight, actually attaching herself to something that would drag her down.
This? Maria felt as if she could fly in this moment. Everything felt light and exciting. She knew that it was probably tired and cliched, but it really did feel like a new leg of a journey. They'd been taking one for a while together, but this was something else. Official, and something that they really would have to do together.
Maria's arms slid easily over his shoulders as she still looked up at him, eyes bright and mind still wrapping around all of this, trying to remember as many details as she could for later. Without thinking Maria leaned into his palm relishing the contact and then shutting her eyes while they kissed, relaxing her smile enough to make sure that it was a real one. Her eyes fluttered open as they pulled apart, smile full and bright once more as he spoke. "Mrs. Maria Zabini." she tried out, the words feeling a little foreign, but not wrong. It was like when she'd dropped her father's name and taken her mother's. It had that same feeling of rightness, that internal instinct telling her that it was going to be okay. This was a good thing.
Maria slid her hands down his shoulders, arms and took one of his hands in hers. "I'd say I can't believe that you did all this, however," she gave a soft laugh. "I know you better than that. And it's wonderful. I think it's the perfect way to start our lives off." she admitted, still reeling a bit, but for once in the best possible way. "I can't wait to tell Desmond." becoming a real family, that thought combined with getting to share a life with her new fiance? It was everything to her. "And your parents." she added becasue they were going to be family now too. She briefly placed her head against his shoulder just needing one second to catch her breath before looking back up at him. "Shall we?" she asked feeling happier than she probably ever had.
