In between seeing Caitlin last (the morning after she had come over) and writing to her, asking if she'd like to do something, Byron had gone through a variety of different anxieties. It had been tempting to just... not see her again. Except Byron really wanted to see Caitlin again. He still wasn't sure how she had managed to so quickly become so fascinating to him, but she had. Byron found Caitlin's insistence at talking utterly endearing and was very keen to have more of it. Not that he wished to turn the kisses (or the sex) away, but it wasn't just that. Though, to be fair, he did have to give the kisses (and the sex) the credit they deserved. More than that, it was just... her. Byron liked her. Which is why he had made himself write to her and ask if she wanted to do something.
When Caitlin had agreed, Byron had been pleased, and then worried, but then pleased again. It made him anxious, the idea of seeing her and still not being able to have a conversation, and perhaps if their encounters so far had gone differently, he wouldn't have asked at all. Except Caitlin didn't seem bothered by Byron's social anxieties. She just... talked. Probably enough for both of them, which could have been irritating but really wasn't to Byron.
At the suggestion of a picnic, Byron's first thought had been that it might be too cold outside for a picnic, which in turn had led him to think of places they could have a picnic that were inside. He didn't know a lot about Caitlin, apart from the fact that she had a very endearing way of thinking, a lot of which seemed to be out loud. But Byron did know she liked maths, Caitlin had said as much. This in turn had made him take the risk that she might also like space. Maths and space were... well, Byron was rather sure there was a connection. And Byron happened to know someone who worked at a planetarium and was willing to be bribed in letting Byron and Caitlin in after hours.
Having sent Caitlin the address, Byron awaited for her outside the building, smiling when she apparated near by. In lieu of a hello, Byron offered Caitlin a soft kiss against her cheek, reaching down to take her hand, tugging slightly towards the door to the planetarium.
