Carl walked in the door, his eyes scanning the room. Something looked different but he couldn’t put his finger on what it was.
Debbie bustled from the kitchen a welcoming smile on her face.
“Carl…..how was your day…come into the kitchen I’m making ziti for dinner!”
“Sounds great sweetheart!”
He took his coat off and walked towards her and then stopped.
“Debbie?”
“Yes baby?”
“Where’s my chair?”
“Your chair?”
“Yes….you know…. that thing I sit on every night….the one you so kindly covered with that….lovely throw over.”
“Oh….that chair!”
“Debbie?”
“I can explain Carl.”
He couldn’t wait to hear this. |

Brian sat in the living room thumbing through the catalog that arrived in the mail. He suddenly stopped to look at the chairs displayed. His mind started whirling with memories and he began to smile and then to laugh out loud.
Justin came up to Brian and flopped down beside him. “What are you smiling and laughing about?”
“Nothing, just thinking about chairs we have enjoyed in our lifetime together.”
“Chairs? What is so exciting about chairs?” Justin asked looking at Brian and squinting his eyes in confusion.
Brian started laughing, “Let us go for a trip down memory lane.”

They turned as the door opened. JR walked in, giving them a weak smile before walking to Michael, leaning in and hugging him. He noticed how Michael clung to her. He was pleased she was here. Michael needed her now.
He stood, waiting, then wrapped his arms around her, enveloping her in his large frame.
She moved away, pulling up another chair next to their father; sitting and resting her head on his shoulder.
They sat together, as a family; each gaining strength from each other, knowing they were about to lose someone who had filled their lives with love. |

I've noticed some people are having problems tagging.
If you've written for us here before, you have an author tag created already and each week we're creating the Challenge tag.
