Spring of 1843. The snow is melting. Soon, men will take their shovels to dig graves and the first casualties of the revolution will be laid to rest in the frontier town of Sedona. Lives have been devastated by a bombing and a train wreck. Ladies have become widows; children have become orphans.

But life goes on. Those who have died will soon be out of mind. The shops sell their wares; more people want to own guns these days. Women sell their bodies. The saloons still serve drinks to people who want to forget about the world they live in, the people who used to live in it with them, and the people who still do.

Some distance from the graveyard, in the Westonbirt Arboretum, flowers are blooming near the ground these bodies are hidden by. Their beauty will delight hearts that have been bowed by sorrow and fear. But these flowers will be cut and washed and their oils will be condensed and mixed and sold as magic. And the glass bottles they are sold in will become smeared by blood from the hands of the Victorian Company.

The revolution has begun. The bodies that were just buried in the newly-thawed earth will be far from the last. This small town will become a battleground. Which side will you be fighting on?

Perfume is an original western fantasy game set in the small town of Sedona. We offer a long-term plot and are always open to suggestions and discussion from members. We permit smaller plots, be they personal or game-wide. This game is literate and active. We are yaoi and yuri friendly, though due to the setting characters may not be. If you have any questions please feel free to ask: the mods are active and friendly.

The gods have not faded away, or been reborn. They are not in high school. They have not forgotten who they were. They remember, because they still exist.

Though their followers are fewer and less vocal, once a god, always a god. The important things have not changed with the passage of time, though with the advance of the mortal world, gods have discovered the joys of modernization. Because even a Muse can appreciate an iPod.

Of course the Sumerians are still insular (and a tad stuck up), the Greeks still squabble amongst themselves more than they do with the other pantheons, and the Norseā€¦ well, with Loki on the loose and Ragnarok threatened, they do have their hands full.

In every pantheon, just as in any group of individuals, you have those that are warm, friendly and open. And those that never learned to work and play well with others. How will they manage to coexist? How have they done so thus far? What happens when Anubis meets Hades? Or Thor challenges Nergal?

Come help us answer those questions and tell those stories.

THE DAMSEL IN DISTRESS
"The one being rescued doesn't get to complain! You just act the part and stand around trembling and say 'Oh, save me!'"

Sweet, beautiful, not all that bright, a magnet for trouble and generally helpless, The Damsel is frequently in need of saving. Don't expect her to do anything to aid her own resue either. Quite the contrary: the existence of the Damsel In Distress often precipitates a Dulcinea Effect; the strange compulsion of heroes to champion, quest for, or even die for, girls they met five minutes ago.

Examples: Princess Aurora in Sleeping Beauty. The female lead in Legend. Lana Lang in Smallville.

Pentamerone - Fairy tales and folklore RP on Inksome! [11 Mar 2009|05:12pm]
What happens after Happily Ever After?

Heroes and villains alike seek someplace to exist before they fade from existence. Others search for a way home, not sure if there's a home left to go to. Pentamerone is the last stronghold of human imagination. The hundreds of magical lands and worlds that used to exist in the minds of children are now in a state of decay. Pentamerone is a world of mystery, of new places to be explored, and full of new people to meet. It looks idyllic, peaceful, welcoming. But only one thing's certain:

Once you cross its borders,
you can never return home again.
