[WELCOME TO RAINBOW BRIDGE!

That's the first you hear, once you walk into this world. It's easy to see the reason for the name, having just crossed a bridge lit up in all the colors of the rainbow.

Whether you're from a different magical world, or consider the concept of magic a silly thing from movies and games, you'll still receive the proper welcome, and everything that comes with it - some information about this country, a map, directions, and explanations as to how there should be a residents list, but it seems empty at the moment.

But it doesn't end there! It's not just that you're now visiting a magical country with plenty of sights to see and places to explore, with different towns and cities, long roads across swamps, dunes and a large lake, even creepy castles by some cliffs and the dangerous forests surrounding them. No, this week they're also celebrating the arrival of Spring!

While some of the areas are naturally flowery and pretty (like EverGreen Town), it'll all still be noticeably decorated for the date, with flower garlands and bouquets everywhere, flower petals falling around and the perfume of flowers in the air, while NPC travelers will have flowery-patterned clothes, flowers in their hair or hats, and so on. Carriages taking you from place to place might be decorated as well, or you might spot horses with pretty arrangements in their manes.

You'll also be able to find seasonal treats at places like the bakery and the big community kitchen at Sunset Village, or the restaurants at Tourmaline City, or find cute colorful outfits at their clothing shops.

EverGreen Town will be thriving, with big sales on herbs, all sorts of spices, wines and ingredients, and obviously flowers, plants and decorations made with them. The plaza will be full of vendors but also people playing music and dancing through the days - a rare time for those in this town to be a little louder and outgoing.

Even at places like the creepy Crimson Keeps, you might be able to find rare treasure in the form of flower-shaped gems and jewellery!

So it's definitely not a bad time to arrive here - surely that initial confusion and outrage at being separated from your home or loved ones will go away much faster while you join the celebrations, right? Who can stay mad or anxious while wearing a freshly made flower crown?]]

i. sunrise crossing

[ A young man walks off the bridge just the same as any other recent traveler - though rather than have an immediate verbal reaction the way most would expect someone to, it's probably more striking that he stands in place at the foot of the bridge for a full several seconds, saying nothing, just slowly shifting his gaze at the surroundings. The welcome party song and dance happens before long and even then he doesn't necessarily ask or demand anything of the crew in his face, listening without a word until the moment he finally accepts the relevant items in his hands... and gives the most icy "pleasant" smile in his arsenal. ]

What? No kind regards from the good doctor?

[ But then again, it doesn't even feel like a palace here, nor an extension of the bastard's ploy. He's certain that he would know that much if it were the case. Wouldn't he? ]

... It doesn't matter. Thanks, but I'll be fine from here. [ Waving off whatever else there was to say, he'll set off ahead on his own, to get to the bottom of whatever this all is. ]

ii. sunset to evergreen

[ See, the obnoxious greeting vibes really should have been what set the expectations for what lay ahead. Why expect anything less? Making it as far as Sunset Village only means encountering useless things (Is the bakery nice? Maybe so. If you see him in there quietly enjoying some sample off the menu, no you didn't.)

There's something to be said to the low-level sort of panic that all these flowers and prettiness and the general happy atmosphere has very much brewing in his gut, after coming from a point of dreary cold winter and the bleak promise of eternal happiness. Is this what the ideal world would look like to someone? The thought is sickening. ]

No. That's really not necessary -- Wait.

[ Well. So no better luck as far as investigation goes at this Evergreen place either, it seems. Now there's pretty red flowers in his hair, how did these people even manage to tie them into locks of his hair so deftly before he made his getaway? Note to self to avoid this sort of big plaza for the present. ]

[Team obsessive antiheroes with their own weird sense of justice unite? More like a flat-out villain in his case, but who's counting, really.

When he's (totally not, sure! we won't tell) grabbing something by that bakery, they'll run into each other for sure, and he clearly isn't familiar with the place, with how he's looking around curiously and eventually trying to find someone in charge to request some work.]

[Something the temporary locals seem to find wonderful, as they celebrate his initiative in getting right to help others, ooh, ahh. "Others" might end up being Akechi himself, because someone has to take that (not!) order.]

[He bears witness to that whole celebration on the part of the locals- if nothing else, it serves to show him the other person is someone like him, out of place in this apparent world and forced to adjust to the situation just as well. The idea of employment was far from his mind in terms of priorities at the start, but if trading some of the last remaining items on his person (all useless here) will only get him so far? He'll have to get to this point too - is this all it takes?

Sigh. What a pain. Reaching the counter, he takes a tentative pause, then asks,]

Mmm... What would you recommend? [Is this considered putting the new employee on the spot? Eh.]

I'd hate to find out this way if the store has policies against serving minors. [Hahh. Not that it's obvious when he dresses like a grandpa and acts the way he does, or that it matters to him much anymore, but anyway.] Not in stock here, I suppose.

[He takes a moment to inspect the pastries - the ridiculousness of this situation aside, not about to say no to it at this point and it suits his tastes. Then, maybe it's by habit that he takes a place to sit close to the serving counter, an inclination to continue conversation despite himself, relaxing some at the first sip of coffee.]

Do you think you'll linger here long? [The job, this town, whichever.] Haven't quite decided when to venture out myself yet.

I see. Given the number of people that seem to be coming through at once, it's not a bad place to wait. Hard to say if there's any sort of pattern to those arriving, though.

Well, if you meet a really pale blonde guy dressed all in black and looking like he needs a long nap, let him know I'm looking for him. [He'd probably want to grab coffee at some point, as it's pretty much all he consumes to keep living, so the location is convenient for many reasons.]

[His own follow-up question of "and you?" is cut off as a little chime sounds, and he finds himself with a little cute star charm on one hand, a note attached to it.

[Maybe you're still at Sunset Village when this girl with hair so blond it almost looks white, arrives there. She has a sword on her hip and she keeps her hand close to it, just in case. It's possible that this is some kind of trap, some sort of magical illusion... She doesn't even really trust the flowers they managed to tie into a braid in her hair when she was recieving the explanations, but she didn't try to take them off just to check.

The point is, this isn't the world she was in before and she hasn't been able to find Geralt or Yennefer yet.

But seeing you does catch her attention. You don't look like the people who live her, so cheery and with no worries about the situation. She hesitates before aproaching but it should be clear that she's staring at you, paying attention to what you say.]

[Maybe it's because she catches him in a moment of annoyance, fresh flowers in his hair too, together with the fact that his eyes immediately catch sight of her weapon in the approach, the hand she keeps close running his wariness up a level.

He meets her stare with easy neutral eyes, though, almost seemingly casual on the surface, even if not smiling necessarily.]

Seems like we match. [Circumstances, cautiousness, braid? Take a pick.]

[It's be understandable to have that reaction to her, someone who very clearly has her guard up. When you approach to talk, she lowers her hand a little, not so ready now to grab the sword. Still, she's quick enough (she believes) to be able to do something if you prove to be a threat.]

I think so. [She pauses for a moment, looking at you.] You're not from here, either.

['Here' meaning more than just this village. She hopes you get what she's talking about.]

You're right, I'm not. I came this far only after stepping off that bridge as you did. [If that's what she means by her wording, he assumes.]
