Who: Serena and Damon and featuring Faith Lehane as Cristal Connors
What: Stefan's bff meets his bro
When: Saturday night
Where: The Red Rooms
Status: In progress!
Warnings: Tbd

Strip clubs weren’t really Serena’s thing. A tasteful burlesque performance, perhaps but never anything as classless as a strip club. Serena could be plenty classless when she wanted to be but it just wasn’t her scene. She was pleasantly surprised when she walked into The Red Rooms and found that it wasn’t the kind of seedy dive she might have found her stepbrother drinking in during one of his many low points. Chuck would have liked this place too but he had a fondness for Thai hookers that couldn’t be satiated by a more high class place like The Red Rooms.

Despite the venue choice, Serena was dressed as usual. She wore an extremely short silver dress that barely came covered her to mid thigh. Because Serena’s legs were so long, dresses tended to look extra short on her. Her long blonde hair was down tonight, hanging in loose curls down her back. Her heels and handbag were designer as always and she had accessorized for the occasion. She had originally planned on going to The Teardrop and visiting David at work but at the last minute decided to go and check out Portland’s infamous strip club instead. She had her reasons for doing so.

“Ladies and gentleman, please take your seats,” a voice said over the speakers. “And get ready for the sexy and mysterious Cristal Connors!”

The lights dimmed, some popular r&b song started thumping base through the speakers. Serena turned her head towards the stage and saw a compact little brunette come out and begin to put on her show. The way she moved her body was expert and Serena tilted her head, finding herself drawn to the magnetic appeal of Cristal. Serena was gorgeous, she was used to turning heads everywhere she went. Blair often complained about hanging out with Serena because she felt like nobody looked at her when Serena was around. What Blair didn’t understand was that her insecurity was ruining her sex appeal. She doubted Cristal would have that problem. Something about her oozed confidence and that was sexy. More than that, she was pretty and dark and totally Stefan’s type. She should be the stripper at his bachelor party. She would mention that when she talked to Damon.

At the bar she ordered a gin and tonic and patiently waited for it as she watched Cristal disrobe and move her body to the music in a way that almost made Serena envious. Sure, Serena was pretty but she didn’t have that kind of natural grace and wow, flexibility.

“You know,” some guy with serious halitosis leaned in and said quietly into her hair. “Gentlemen prefer blondes.”

Serena rolled her eyes before she turned to him. “And blondes prefer men who can come up with better pick up lines.” She smiled politely but icily in his direction before accepting her gin and tonic. Before she could put some money on the bar, the guy who was flirting with her beat her to the punch. Serena sighed. She was used to male attention but she figured in a strip club that the attention would be on the strippers. “You didn’t have to do that.”

“But I wanted to,” he said. “So… how much for a lap dance from you?”

Serena arched one perfectly tweezed blonde eyebrow in his direction and gave him a quick and clinical once over with her blue green eyes. The suit was off the rack and ill-fitting and his shoes, while designer, were from three seasons ago at least.

“You couldn’t afford it.” She gave him one last bitchy smile before walking away from him.

She could feel eyes following her as she walked through the club but she paid them no mind. She was here to see one very specific vampire and knew that he managed the club. While Serena had heard a lot about Damon Salvatore from her close friend Stefan, she had never actually talked to him. She was a little anxious about talking to him because she already knew so much about him and not all of it was very good. In fact, mos tof it was very bad. Not that Damon would be the first bad guy that Serena hung out with, she had gone through a bad boy phase awhile back but that had been mostly to piss off her absentee mother. Bad as he was, Stefan loved him. He was Stefan’s brother. Serena loved her Whoreos to absolute pieces but Robin and Penny were older and closer to each other. Serena and Stefan had clicked right away too and he was eternally seventeen so they were a little closer in age…. in theory. Either way, she considered him her best friend here. He was a pretty far jump from Blair Waldorf but even Blair would appreciate his fashion sense.

She walked up to a bouncer and asked him where she could find Damon Salvatore. The bouncer barely looked at her, probably thinking her another dancer looking for a job. Serena wasn’t Blair. She wasn’t going to get on stage for anyone. If David wanted a show, he could get one from her privately but that was it.

The bouncer pointed her in the right direction and she headed to a table where a brooding looking dark haired man was sitting.

“Damon?” Serena asked. She held out her hand to shake his. “Serena. I’m Stefan’s friend.”

She sighed and looked over at Damon again. "I guess I wasn't very subtle, was I?" She could tell just from the look in his eyes that she had not been. Subtly wasn't exactly a specialty of Serena's anyway. She tended to draw attention wherever she went. At least the paparazzi didn't follow her around here. She could just see the headlines now. Manhattan It Girl Serena van der Woodsen hanging out at vampire strip club! Spotted with renowned vampire, chatting about immortality. Her mother would already be here paying Damon obscene amounts of money to never speak to Serena again. She just couldn't decide if she missed that old life or not.

"I don't know about turning. The vampire I hang out with most is Stefan and he seems so miserable like ninety nine percent of the time. The one percent of the time he's not is when he's with Robin. The rest is just like...." She shook her head. "Eternal misery. I wouldn't want that. I would never want that."

But Stefan was a Ripper and from Serena understood, not everyone automatically turned into that. It was rare among vampires. None of the other vampires in town seemed to be afflicted with that problem. Serena was sure that she wouldn't be. But how to be one hundred percent sure? She couldn't be.

"But I died, Damon. I really died. I felt it inside of me. Like my insides melting. I.... It was disgusting and it was horrible and scary and I don't want to do that ever again. I could feel my skin sliding off my face. Do you know what that's like? Oh God, please don't tell Stefan I'm even talking about this or thinking about this. I know he would freak."

She didn't know why she expected Damon to keep her secret but she hoped that he would.

"I don't want to die. I don't want to grow old. I'm a model, Damon. What will I do when I'm too old for that? I'm not really good at anything else."

“No, not really.” It was really easy to put it all together especially the more she asked. It was just like every other curious person who thought about becoming a vampire. She was no different.

“I wouldn’t go by how Stefan is. Stefan is Stefan. I don’t really know any miserable vampires. I know I’m not. Katherine’s not. Enzo’s not. You don’t have to miserable. Not unless you want to be.”

He actually felt bad for Serena, especially when she started talking about how it felt when she was turned into a zombie. Nobody should have to live through that and remember it. “I don’t know how that feels, but I do know how it feels to have my insides pulled out of me over and over again.” Damon just waved it off when Serena started to freak out that he would go and tell Stefan what she had been talking about. “I’m not going to tell him anything.” He had no reason to share any of this with his brother.

“So turn,” he said, “you would never have to worry about any of those things ever again. I’ll even do it for you, but only when I get my body back since I can’t do a damn thing while I’m stuck as Enzo.”

She turned and looked at him in surprise. So far they were just making idle chit chat and now things were getting serious. He had just offered to turn her into a vampire once he got back into his own body. Serena could only imagine the Stefan sized fit that was going to accompany that possibility. The brothers had enough to fight about and Serena didn't want to add another thing. At the same time, she wasn't entirely uninterested in Damon's proposition.

"No lectures about how his will change my life forever? How I don't know what I'm asking for?" she asked him. She wasn't exactly totally surprised given what she knew of Damon. She just found it crazy sometimes how different the two brothers actually were. Damon nothing like Stefan and Stefan nothing like Damon. Good style and possible alcoholism were the only significant similarities that Serena could see.

"I have to think about it," she finally said. She knew her friends would probably be unhappy with the decision but Serena ultimately had to make it for herself. She was sure that everyone would have an opinion. She could always just do it and face the consequences later but Serena wasn't sure about anything at the moment. Her mind was getting fuzzier by the minute too as she sipped at her drink.

It made perfect sense for Serena to become a vampire though. Her entire life was built on being attractive. She was sure after she was too old to model she could just find something else to do in the business. She knew enough about it to still be valuable.

"I'll handle the catering for the party if you can provide the bar." The bar was just fine at the strip club but she doubted that any food they served would be acceptable for a party.

Well, that got her attention. “Nope,” he said, “no lectures or anything else because there’s no reason for them. You’re life will pretty much stay the same. You’ll just have the extra little perks of being vampire.” He wondered if she’d actually take his offer. He really hoped she would. One, because it seemed like this was something that she wanted. And two, because he knew he might actually annoy the hell out of Stefan if he turned his new bff into a vampire.

“You do that and when you’re done thinking about it, come find me.” He could always push her about it. Make her come to a decision now. He was pretty sure she’d say yes after a few more cocktails.

And then the conversation switched back to Stefan’s party that she wanted to throw. That was fine. “I can do that. Anything else?” He was going to let her pick and choose since it was her bright idea.
