Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
Entry tags:damon salvatore, faith lehane, serena van der woodsen

Who: Serena and Damon and featuring Faith Lehane as Cristal Connors
What: Stefan's bff meets his bro
When: Saturday night
Where: The Red Rooms
Status: In progress!
Warnings: Tbd

Strip clubs weren’t really Serena’s thing. A tasteful burlesque performance, perhaps but never anything as classless as a strip club. Serena could be plenty classless when she wanted to be but it just wasn’t her scene. She was pleasantly surprised when she walked into The Red Rooms and found that it wasn’t the kind of seedy dive she might have found her stepbrother drinking in during one of his many low points. Chuck would have liked this place too but he had a fondness for Thai hookers that couldn’t be satiated by a more high class place like The Red Rooms.

Despite the venue choice, Serena was dressed as usual. She wore an extremely short silver dress that barely came covered her to mid thigh. Because Serena’s legs were so long, dresses tended to look extra short on her. Her long blonde hair was down tonight, hanging in loose curls down her back. Her heels and handbag were designer as always and she had accessorized for the occasion. She had originally planned on going to The Teardrop and visiting David at work but at the last minute decided to go and check out Portland’s infamous strip club instead. She had her reasons for doing so.

“Ladies and gentleman, please take your seats,” a voice said over the speakers. “And get ready for the sexy and mysterious Cristal Connors!”

The lights dimmed, some popular r&b song started thumping base through the speakers. Serena turned her head towards the stage and saw a compact little brunette come out and begin to put on her show. The way she moved her body was expert and Serena tilted her head, finding herself drawn to the magnetic appeal of Cristal. Serena was gorgeous, she was used to turning heads everywhere she went. Blair often complained about hanging out with Serena because she felt like nobody looked at her when Serena was around. What Blair didn’t understand was that her insecurity was ruining her sex appeal. She doubted Cristal would have that problem. Something about her oozed confidence and that was sexy. More than that, she was pretty and dark and totally Stefan’s type. She should be the stripper at his bachelor party. She would mention that when she talked to Damon.

At the bar she ordered a gin and tonic and patiently waited for it as she watched Cristal disrobe and move her body to the music in a way that almost made Serena envious. Sure, Serena was pretty but she didn’t have that kind of natural grace and wow, flexibility.

“You know,” some guy with serious halitosis leaned in and said quietly into her hair. “Gentlemen prefer blondes.”

Serena rolled her eyes before she turned to him. “And blondes prefer men who can come up with better pick up lines.” She smiled politely but icily in his direction before accepting her gin and tonic. Before she could put some money on the bar, the guy who was flirting with her beat her to the punch. Serena sighed. She was used to male attention but she figured in a strip club that the attention would be on the strippers. “You didn’t have to do that.”

“But I wanted to,” he said. “So… how much for a lap dance from you?”

Serena arched one perfectly tweezed blonde eyebrow in his direction and gave him a quick and clinical once over with her blue green eyes. The suit was off the rack and ill-fitting and his shoes, while designer, were from three seasons ago at least.

“You couldn’t afford it.” She gave him one last bitchy smile before walking away from him.

She could feel eyes following her as she walked through the club but she paid them no mind. She was here to see one very specific vampire and knew that he managed the club. While Serena had heard a lot about Damon Salvatore from her close friend Stefan, she had never actually talked to him. She was a little anxious about talking to him because she already knew so much about him and not all of it was very good. In fact, mos tof it was very bad. Not that Damon would be the first bad guy that Serena hung out with, she had gone through a bad boy phase awhile back but that had been mostly to piss off her absentee mother. Bad as he was, Stefan loved him. He was Stefan’s brother. Serena loved her Whoreos to absolute pieces but Robin and Penny were older and closer to each other. Serena and Stefan had clicked right away too and he was eternally seventeen so they were a little closer in age…. in theory. Either way, she considered him her best friend here. He was a pretty far jump from Blair Waldorf but even Blair would appreciate his fashion sense.

She walked up to a bouncer and asked him where she could find Damon Salvatore. The bouncer barely looked at her, probably thinking her another dancer looking for a job. Serena wasn’t Blair. She wasn’t going to get on stage for anyone. If David wanted a show, he could get one from her privately but that was it.

The bouncer pointed her in the right direction and she headed to a table where a brooding looking dark haired man was sitting.

“Damon?” Serena asked. She held out her hand to shake his. “Serena. I’m Stefan’s friend.”

Damon had decided not to stay in the office today. He didn’t feel like doing anything that he should be doing like paperwork. Enzo could take care of that stuff. He was the owner not Damon. That meant today would be a lazy day and instead of staying in the office he had decided to take over one of the tables.

He looked up from his cellphone when Faith took the stage. And even though Faith drove him crazy, he did have to admit that she knew how to put on a show. A lot of the customs came just to see her shake it. He had seen her show one too many times and that was why he decided to look away and go right back to his cellphone.

It wasn’t long after that when somebody decided to come and bug him. The dress had caught his attention and he figured it was just somebody else trying to get a job. “We’re not hiring,” he said without bothering to look up that is until he heard who he was. He looked up and gave Serena the once over. “So you’re Serena.” He set his phone down and shook her hand. “Since you’re Stefan’s friend that means you either want something, want to know something, or Stefan did something. So which one is it?”

Serena just gave him a look. He couldn't pay her enough to work here. Serena had some standards... somewhere, if you looked in the right places. She had forgotten that Damon had swapped bodies with a friend and was surprised to see Enzo staring back at her for a second.

"All of the above?" Since Damon was rude and hadn't invited her to sit down, she continued to stand, towering over him in her heels. Serena was already extremely tall and never left the house without her heels. This had lead to a life of towering over her boyfriends but for some reason, none of them ever seemed to mind. She had her gin and tonic too and with a few drinks in her, she hardly felt the pinch of heels at all.

Since he had said her name that way she could only imagine that Stefan talked to Damon about her. Hopefully he had better stories to tell than some of the ones she had heard about Damon. Serena had her own fair share of skeletons in the closet including Pete Fairman. So maybe Damon's body count was a bit higher but it wasn't as if Serena was some angel either. She tried not to judge too hard but it was sometimes difficult since she was Stefan's best friend.

"I want to know if we can throw Stefan's bachelor party here in the club. It seems perfect, doesn't it? Since you manage the place, I figured that was something you could help me pull together."

Then she dazzled him with that brilliant smile, hoping to make him feel a bit more at ease with the idea that she was going to be involved with this party and it's planning and everything else that had to do with Stefan and Robin's wedding. Because Serena lived for this stuff and planning parties and throwing them was one of her few useful talents besides looking good. She could only assume Damon would want to be involved too which meant they had to get along.

Serena was attractive and if she ever wanted to get on stage and shake her ass, he wouldn’t say no. But the look she was giving him right now spoke volumes. So, instead of saying anything he just smirked at her.

“Wow, all three. Haven’t had that happen before.” Now Damon was starting to wonder what exactly was going on. He had a feeling he was about to find out. And since it didn’t seem like Serena was going to go anywhere anytime soon, he offered her to take a seat.

“You want to throw Stefan’s bachelor party here?” Damon almost wanted to laugh. Sure Stefan came around, but he only stuck around whenever Damon was in the office. He still remembered when Stefan walked out on him and Enzo when they had come to the Red Rooms for some fun.

“When you’re smiling at me like that I can hardly say no.” Not that he had planned on saying no. He still couldn’t imagine how any of it was going to go down, but he had a feeling it would get very interesting. “That’s one thing down. What are the other two?” They could talk details once he knew the other reasons why she was there.

"Well, I wanted something. We already talked about that." Serena sipped her drink, her eyes glued to the dancer on stage. "The thing that Stefan did was propose to Robin. Which by the way, have you seen the ring? It's gorgeous." Money wasn't really an object and Serena had very good taste especially when it came to jewelry. It was a beautiful ring. She couldn't wait until their wedding but the adventure on the way there would be fun.

Her eyes moved from Damon's (Enzo's?) back over to Cristal dancing on stage. "So that's two down already. And since we're already on the subject of things I want?" Serena turned back to Damon, her eyes sparkling. This wasn't Damon's actual body but it was still really good looking and that accent was undeniably sexy.

"I want her." Her eyes followed every movement that Cristal made. She was perfect for the job. "For the party." She turned her eyes back to Damon (Enzo?). "She's perfect. Don't you think?"

Serena sipped her gin and tonic. She wasn't actually high on anything at the moment but she was wishing that she was.

"Are you still a vampire?" she asked him. "Or are you human now in that body?" She was curious what it must be like to switch bodies like that. She knew some people had. She heard rumors about vampire attacks because people were switching with vampires and didn't know how to keep themselves in check.

“Well, I already knew about that since I saw it over the network.” Damon shook his head at Serena’s question. “No, I haven’t seen the ring. Oh yeah?” He wasn’t actually interested in the ring, but he figured he’d better play nice since this was one of Stefan’s friends. “Will you sit down already. You’re making my neck hurt.”

Damon looked over the stage where Faith was doing her thing and then looked back at Serena. Now he had to laugh. Stefan was not going to go for a stripper. Hell would have to freeze over. “You’re joking, right?” He glanced over at Faith again. Nope, he would never say she was perfect.

“Yes, I’m still a vampire. You mean you haven’t heard anything about Enzo?” That would be a huge shocker since he knew how much Stefan disliked Enzo. If Serena knew nothing about him then that meant Stefan actually kept his feelings about Damon’s best friend to himself. That was probably a good thing. Enough people hated Enzo for the stupid mistake he made. “Why?” There had to be a reason why she would ask such a question and hopefully she’d be willing to share.

Apparently sobriety didn't suit Serena at all and she sat down next to Damon and sipped at her drink again. It was nearly empty. She would need a refill from one of the cocktail waitresses soon. If she was going to hang out in a strip club with Damon, she definitely needed to get drunk. Maybe she would slip off into the bathroom to snort a few lines after Cristal was done.

"She's just his type. No?" Serena asked, blinking at Damon (Enzo?). She thought Cristal was the perfect stripper for Stefan's party. She was dark and sexy and there was a hint of danger about her. Oh well. She could negotiate on the stripper maybe but she was pretty set on Cristal right now.

She smirked and shrugged enigmatically at Damon when he asked if she had heard anything about Enzo. Not much honestly. Just a few bits here and there when Enzo was doing something to piss Stefan off. Mostly she had to hear him go on ad nauseum about Silas and Bonnie. She had talked to Silas once but had never met the mysterious Bonnie. Maybe one of these days she would. She was just getting around to the brother though so it might take awhile.

"You like being a vampire, don't you?" she asked him. "You're not like Stefan. I don't think he likes it much." Serena had a talent for understatements sometimes. She herself couldn't relate though, she couldn't understand immortality or hating it. Serena was jealous of their natural speed and stamina and strength and grace. She was envious that they would stay and young and beautiful forever. Their flesh would never wrinkle up and desiccate and do all sorts of other things the way that Serena's would. The one thing, she was truly good at and Serena knew it was temporary. The zombie virus had taught her just how mortal she was.

Damon just shook his head no at Serena’s question. He couldn’t see Faith being Stefan’s type. Then again it probably didn’t matter who Serena picked because he still couldn’t picture Stefan being a-okay with any stripper coming over and rubbing themselves all over him. Of course watching Stefan squirm was always fun. “You know what, if you want her, you can have her for the party.”

“I’ll take that as a no.” Which was fine by him. That just meant it was one less person who looked at his friend like some horrible monster.

“Haven’t you noticed? Me and Stefan are like night and day. And you’re right, he doesn’t like it much, which I will always find funny because I was the one who didn’t want this. Not when I thought Katherine had been killed.” He looked at Serena for a moment or two, trying to figure her out. Either she was concerned for Stefan or there was something more to all of this. “I have a feeling this conversation isn’t really about Stefan or me, is it?”

She just smiled, letting Damon take it however he liked. She had heard so much about him but this was their first meeting. She almost wished she had waited until he was in his own body. Now she would always associate Enzo with Damon and vice versa. Perhaps that was okay given how close they were but Serena was easily confused. The drugs and booze she had been imbibing over the past several weeks were clouding up her usually ditzy mind. She couldn't even trust herself anymore but she didn't care. A smart girl didn't walk into The Red Rooms, a notorious vampire hangout in a dress like this unless she wasn't the sharpest crayon in the box.

But now sitting with Damon she felt perfectly safe, strange as it was considering she knew Damon's past history when it came to killing Stefan's friends. Maybe it was the adrenaline junkie that had lead to her seeking him out. Maybe it was the left over effects of the virus that had cooked her brain like a Thanksgiving turkey. There were probably a variety of factors that brought her to sitting next to him now and really none of them had anything to do with Stefan's party. They could have discussed that over the network just as easily.

"Sure it is. You were just telling me about how you didn't want to live without Katherine." She had already heard this story from Stefan but hearing it from Damon was just as interesting. "That's so sad but she's here now and so are you and you can be together. That has to make it all worth it, right?" She smiled at him again, less dazzle and more sympathy.

Serena didn't know Katherine either but she had heard plenty of stories about her and none of those ones were good. At least Damon had a few good stories in Stefan's repertoire but Katherine had nothing. But Serena knew that sometimes people were judged for the choices they had to make. She would judge Katherine for herself if they were to ever meet.

"So Katherine was missing and you didn't want to be a vampire. What changed?" she asked him curiously. "I mean, when did you decide hey this isn't so bad?"

Why did he even mention Katherine and how he hadn’t wanted to go on with out her? Now the conversation was going to be about him and that’s not how he wanted it to be right now. He’d rather the conversation be on Serena. “I’m sure you’ve heard most of it from Stefan.” They were friends, his brother was bound to share their past with her even though he was probably colored as the big bad brother even though Stefan wasn’t so innocent himself. “I might bitch about all of the crap this place throws at us, but I’d rather be here with Katherine and everyone else and deal with the crazy because once I get sent back, I’m dead and so is Katherine. So, yeah, it’s worth it.” He may have gotten a lot of crap from people for being with Katherine. But they weren’t around when he had first been taken, before Portland. He dealt with a lot of bad things wit ha bunch of different versions of Elena. And that’s what pushed him towards Katherine. She was his only constant for a while before getting pulled to Portland. And if people would actually give her a chance they would see that she had changed. She’s not the same Katherine they all once knew and hated.

Now that was a good question and he honestly didn’t know. “I don’t know. Maybe it was a bunch of different things that made me realize being a vampire wasn’t the end of the world. Of course getting tortured for a year wasn’t the best time of my life, but it did give me Enzo.” And that had been the only good thing about becoming an Augustine vampire.

He finished off his drink and then told the nearby waitress to get him another. He also told her to get Serena whatever she wanted. Once the waitress was gone his attention went right back to Serena. “Anything else you want to know or are you done being curious?”

"Why? Are my questions bothering you?" Serena asked. Her eyes studied Damon's profile closely. She didn't try too hard to read him. She didn't care to and frankly it was just a pointless endeavor. Damon was wearing Enzo at the moment. She could tell that for a vampire with a notorious ego, he really didn't like to talk about the past. Serena could relate to that too. When the waitress had come over she ordered a martini this time. It was her signature drink but she liked to mix it up sometimes.

"Did Stefan tell you I got the zombie virus?" She asked him. "I remember most of it. I guess I was one of the lucky ones. Stefan managed to lock me up so I wouldn't hurt anyone and nobody would hurt me. I'm surrounded by vampires and werewolves and shifters. Sometimes I think I forget that I'm human. We all turn into corpses eventually, right?"

The topic had turned desperately morbid. It was depressing so Serena turned her head to watch Cristal shake her money maker.

"I don't know why I'm here talking to you about it." She shook her blonde head, hoping that drink would appear soon. "I think my friends would freak out. I know Stefan hates what he is but you don't. Rebekah doesn't seem to hate what she is either. Not like Stefan does. Elena seems like she's happy being a vampire too. It can't be all bad. You're strong and fast. You'll be young and beautiful forever." They could die but they wouldn't grow old. They wouldn't watch their skin sag and yellow like zombie Serena had. That was what this was really about. Serena wanted to be young and healthy and hot forever.

“No, not really.” If the questions bothered him he would have let her know. And yet, he answered all of them with out a problem. “You’re just making me curious, that’s all.” And she was. The waitress came back with their drinks. He said his thanks and shooed the girl away.

“No, I don’t think so.” If Stefan did he sure as hell didn’t remember that conversation. “Wait, you remember being the undead?” Everyone he knew, as far as he knew, hadn’t been inured or turned during zombie hell, so it was a little surprising to hear that Serena had turned and remembered more of it. That had to suck. “Eventually.”

The more she said the more he started to put it all together. Now should he ask her the question right at this moment or should he hold off?

“I think you know why.” He didn’t believe her. He believed that she wanted to know something and was just too afraid to ask. “It’s not bad at all. Some, like my brother, just dwell on it and end up becoming miserable and booooring.” He watched Serena for a moment before finally decided to just ask her. “You want to turn, don’t you? That’s why you keep asking me these questions.”

She sighed and looked over at Damon again. "I guess I wasn't very subtle, was I?" She could tell just from the look in his eyes that she had not been. Subtly wasn't exactly a specialty of Serena's anyway. She tended to draw attention wherever she went. At least the paparazzi didn't follow her around here. She could just see the headlines now. Manhattan It Girl Serena van der Woodsen hanging out at vampire strip club! Spotted with renowned vampire, chatting about immortality. Her mother would already be here paying Damon obscene amounts of money to never speak to Serena again. She just couldn't decide if she missed that old life or not.

"I don't know about turning. The vampire I hang out with most is Stefan and he seems so miserable like ninety nine percent of the time. The one percent of the time he's not is when he's with Robin. The rest is just like...." She shook her head. "Eternal misery. I wouldn't want that. I would never want that."

But Stefan was a Ripper and from Serena understood, not everyone automatically turned into that. It was rare among vampires. None of the other vampires in town seemed to be afflicted with that problem. Serena was sure that she wouldn't be. But how to be one hundred percent sure? She couldn't be.

"But I died, Damon. I really died. I felt it inside of me. Like my insides melting. I.... It was disgusting and it was horrible and scary and I don't want to do that ever again. I could feel my skin sliding off my face. Do you know what that's like? Oh God, please don't tell Stefan I'm even talking about this or thinking about this. I know he would freak."

She didn't know why she expected Damon to keep her secret but she hoped that he would.

"I don't want to die. I don't want to grow old. I'm a model, Damon. What will I do when I'm too old for that? I'm not really good at anything else."

“No, not really.” It was really easy to put it all together especially the more she asked. It was just like every other curious person who thought about becoming a vampire. She was no different.

“I wouldn’t go by how Stefan is. Stefan is Stefan. I don’t really know any miserable vampires. I know I’m not. Katherine’s not. Enzo’s not. You don’t have to miserable. Not unless you want to be.”

He actually felt bad for Serena, especially when she started talking about how it felt when she was turned into a zombie. Nobody should have to live through that and remember it. “I don’t know how that feels, but I do know how it feels to have my insides pulled out of me over and over again.” Damon just waved it off when Serena started to freak out that he would go and tell Stefan what she had been talking about. “I’m not going to tell him anything.” He had no reason to share any of this with his brother.

“So turn,” he said, “you would never have to worry about any of those things ever again. I’ll even do it for you, but only when I get my body back since I can’t do a damn thing while I’m stuck as Enzo.”

She turned and looked at him in surprise. So far they were just making idle chit chat and now things were getting serious. He had just offered to turn her into a vampire once he got back into his own body. Serena could only imagine the Stefan sized fit that was going to accompany that possibility. The brothers had enough to fight about and Serena didn't want to add another thing. At the same time, she wasn't entirely uninterested in Damon's proposition.

"No lectures about how his will change my life forever? How I don't know what I'm asking for?" she asked him. She wasn't exactly totally surprised given what she knew of Damon. She just found it crazy sometimes how different the two brothers actually were. Damon nothing like Stefan and Stefan nothing like Damon. Good style and possible alcoholism were the only significant similarities that Serena could see.

"I have to think about it," she finally said. She knew her friends would probably be unhappy with the decision but Serena ultimately had to make it for herself. She was sure that everyone would have an opinion. She could always just do it and face the consequences later but Serena wasn't sure about anything at the moment. Her mind was getting fuzzier by the minute too as she sipped at her drink.

It made perfect sense for Serena to become a vampire though. Her entire life was built on being attractive. She was sure after she was too old to model she could just find something else to do in the business. She knew enough about it to still be valuable.

"I'll handle the catering for the party if you can provide the bar." The bar was just fine at the strip club but she doubted that any food they served would be acceptable for a party.

Well, that got her attention. “Nope,” he said, “no lectures or anything else because there’s no reason for them. You’re life will pretty much stay the same. You’ll just have the extra little perks of being vampire.” He wondered if she’d actually take his offer. He really hoped she would. One, because it seemed like this was something that she wanted. And two, because he knew he might actually annoy the hell out of Stefan if he turned his new bff into a vampire.

“You do that and when you’re done thinking about it, come find me.” He could always push her about it. Make her come to a decision now. He was pretty sure she’d say yes after a few more cocktails.

And then the conversation switched back to Stefan’s party that she wanted to throw. That was fine. “I can do that. Anything else?” He was going to let her pick and choose since it was her bright idea.
