Who: Melinda & Terrence
What: much needed talking. and a cure for boredom.
When: Tuesday evening.
Where: Slytherin dorms.
Rating: Y. For yelling.
There was only so much wandering anyone could possibly do. And Melinda had been doing it for days. There had been once where she tried to sleep. she didn't think she needed to, but there was also the possibility that she was having another bout of insomnia and that if only she'd laid down, she'd sleep. But she went right through the bed when she tried to sit on it. And jump on it. Eating wasn't happening either-- she didn't even try. Not that she was hungry. She wasn't at all. She just really wanted cheesy toast. Or pizza. Instead, she wandered. It was a boring thing - even though she'd been privy to too many conversations and had learnt more than she ever needed to about her fellow quarantine-mates. If she'd felt the need to blackmail them, she was good. But she had pity. At some point, amidst the wandering in and out of the forbidden library section from the other side of the wall even though she couldn't really pick up the books to read them, she had an idea. Dorm tour. No stupid portrait could stop her now. She started with Gryffindor's tower, walking right through the fat lady much to her protest. There was so much red and gold. Was Ravenclaw just as bad and she simply never noticed? Never the less, it was warm and Christmas-y, even though she figured that it was more the particular season than anything. Hufflepuff was her favourite of them. It was cozy, earthen, and honest. The crackling fire was a lovely addition that she was honestly rather jealous of. The corridors made her feel a bit like a mole, but it was so bright and warm, she couldn't really fault the dorm for it. Then there was Slytherin. She'd stared at that wall for how many years? She walked right through the stone into the common room. It was green and eerie. The sounds of the lake above them added to the strange feeling the common room gave her. She wandered slowly through the room and it's emerald tones. It was fancy, but cold. Melinda wrapped her arms around her as she followed the hallway up to the girls dormitory. It was much the same -- fine furnishings, but cold and empty. She passed through the wall to the boy's dorm. She expected it, too, to be empty. Much to her surprise, when she walked through the wall, she walked nearly through Terrence, too. Her blue eyes went wide with shock, quickly to be followed by a look of apology. Then, somewhere in their depths, annoyance. It wasn't until she stepped back that she'd noticed he was without a shirt on, a fresh pair of clothing laid out on the trunk nearby. "I didn't think anyone would be here," she said softly. |
