These are the new and improved voyages of the starship, Enterprise...
After Nero went back in time and changed so many things that effected the future, it can only be natural that everything else will change. Missions, relationships, the outcomes of instances that we thought we knew. Everything is different. The original five year mission started 2265 and now that Kirk is captain of the Enterprise earlier than scheduled (2258), there are completely new events that will occur that you would never have thought possible.
Even the students are itching to get a position on the USS Enterprise to see what amazing things they will come across. Hearing so many interesting stories, it's hard not to pray that you'll get assigned to that particular ship. If they work their hardest and pass with flying colors, it may very well be your destination.
What enemies will we cross? The Neutral Zone has been hearing of the Romulans from the future and are getting cocky at taking the Federation on full force. If Nero could do significant damage, so could they, right? It is up to the Enterprise to show them why they shouldn't cross over into Federation space. We're about to boldly go where no one has gone before.

I would really like to find a sane, mature, active writer to PB Vanessa Hudgens against my Zac Efron PB in a long-term PSL. It would be thread-based but we'd be using character journals set up with spam posts for that additional interaction. The line would involve them meeting during a summer abroad program (based in a country we can decide on later).
