Who: OPEN
What: The Halloween party continues, now with far more elaborate costumes...
Where: The Empty Grave
When: 9 p.m. until
Warnings: Just assume this one's going to get naughty.
Notes: This is the transformation post! Again, subject line denotes location. Go shed those mortal skins!

As it had been with Pax Letale, so it was with its tenants: The shift from mundane to immortal was somehow creeping but immediate, passing almost beneath notice until the change was complete. Clothing faded rather than being shed; some deities remained in their humans' attire, some wore their old familiar kit, but all were utterly changed. The DJ played on, bartenders and waitstaff wound through the crowd, guests from outside the strange apartment danced and talked and flirted still with the partners who had brought them, all of them oblivious to the inhuman nature of the beings beside them. But for the residents of Pax, everything was about to change.

She blinked, and she wasn't herself anymore. It had started like a hand on the back of her neck, slowly creeping up until it encased her skull and now...well, now she was someone else. The someone from that hallway back in Pax, the one who had recognized the apple and the wall carvings and the blood. The one who wanted blood, but not just that, much more than that. A shot came sliding towards her, something her other half had ordered before she'd been lost. Eris grinned, a strange grin, a disturbing grin and knocked back the drink, then threw the glass at the bartender, who yelled in surprise at the sudden attack.

"What the fuck, lady?!" Eris just laughed, and climbed up onto the counter of the bar. The shot had been nice, and she wanted more. She wanted everyone to have more, because drink had always led to one of her favorite past times. Grabbing bottles, she started throwing them out amongst the people, who were half in half in being surprised or in being thankful about the free alcohol. Eris helped herself to a few mouthfuls, and smashed one bottle over the head of the bartender when he came towards her, shouting for security. There was no such thing as security, not when chaos was involved.

Eris moved back around the counter, surveying what little things she had done. There were a few others here that she could recognize, a paltry few of her own kind, and one very familiar...somewhere around here.

"Cousin! Where are you, cousin?!" Her voice was almost a scream, but in a muted tone. She had only spoken normally, after all. The grin never went away, and walking over to the food table, she upended it, sending finger food flying and spilling the punch bowl (most likely spiked) out onto the floor. More patrons were yelling now, some covered in the edibles that had landed on them, and most were moving out of Eris' path because, well, lady done gone crazy.

Mania could hear crashing and the corner of her mouth perked up but it didn't distract her from her work. Oh yes, this was interesting enough. Her pile was growing in size and though she wasn't sure what any of it was, she had decided she was going to put it in her pocket and let it grow. Maybe if she planted it, it would grow into a gum and other things tree and then there would be stuff to share. Although would that mean the leaves would be sticky and snotty? She didn't know.

Through the din of the many thoughts in her mind, she heard a word and a familiar voice. Add a pinch of fear and a large slice of wanting to see this particular cousin again - though not as close to her as her sisters. Mania started to stand up automatically but whacked her head on the bottom of the table. "Ooooow..." She rubbed her head with a tiny pout and a whimper.

Carefully she slipped out from under the table and grabbed some passing woman by the arm. Eyes wide and glittering with unknown secrets, she smiled, "You need to get my cousin for me." The woman was staring then yanked her arm away muttering the word "freak" under her breath. But Mania just smiled, waiting... And the woman started scratching at her arm where Mania had touched it... Mice. Mice! Under her skin! Only not really. But to the woman she had touched, it sure as Hell looked like it.

With a shriek the woman took off running and ran past Eris, just barely missing hitting her. Mania pouted, "My aim is off... So wobbly." And in that moment, she completely forgot what she had been doing. So she picked up her mortal's hat and started away from the table, skipping a little. Thankfully, she was going right in Eris' direction.

Another patron went running by her, but Eris took no notice as that was the norm. People running, screaming, fighting, bleeding, dying, all of that was the status quo for her and she would not have it any other way. No, she was made for such scenes and they for her, married perfectly together since the dawn of time. The running woman nearly hit her, and if she had, Eris would have simply shoved her away - instead, she ignored the woman and continued flipping tables in some obscene game of hide and seek with her cousin. Cups and paper plates and food and table coverings, not to mention the chairs surrounding each table, were going flying in her path of destruction.

And then security appeared. Three burly men in mock-police suits, rent-a-cops, prepared to stop this rampaging woman who was disrupting the party. One laid a hand on her arm.

"Look, lady, just calm down and come with us," he said, and Eris turned to look at him. It was obvious that he was a little scared, though he was perfectly capable of doing his job. After all, this woman was barely a third of his size, removing her from the premises would be simple enough. Then the fear blossomed, ignited like a flame and started burning through him. The grin loomed at him and he shrieked, moving backwards much to the surprise of his fellow guards. They looked from him to the woman, who was continuing towards where she thought her cousin was. And then she saw her, dressed in that same shell as before, a pink-haired woman.

"Cousin!" She said excitedly, her voice continuing to sound like a shriek or a scream, those around to hear it covering their ears. "It seems forever and yet not, doesn't it? But look at all the lovely playthings...it's almost as though we had never stopped." Her words didn't make complete sense, but she motioned to the party goers, which were, effectively, to become Chaos' and Insanity's playthings, at least for this evening. It was going to be a Halloween party that no one was going to forget.

Police. Soldiers in blue. Well, white and black since they were more rentable security but that was hardly the point. The point was they were going to get in so much trouble if they bothered Eris for too long. Part of Mania wanted to rescue them and send them away with visions of cotton candy and unicorns and other lovely things. The part that won out was letting Eris take care of herself. She didn't need rescuing. The day Eris needed rescuing was the day that Hades froze over. Haha, not gonna happen.

And she was right. One of them screamed. Her cousin's strange voice never bothered her - Mania's wasn't much better. Warbling and singing and screaming and whispering and being almost like a chorus all at once. A lot of her family had a hard time following anything she said and she couldn't really blame them. "We never did," she said to her cousin, reaching for Eris's hand to twine their fingers together. They were both already pretty mad. Eris wouldn't be bothered by Mania surely. "We just weren't there in body, you know. Like Cheshire cats."

Looking out among the masses, she just smiled to herself. She could hear the rent-a-cops taking down descriptions of them but when it came to Mania, it was hard. Her facial features kept changing as did the color of her eyes and hair. It was slow fading but kind of obvious. The goddess of insanity just did not know how to keep things in order. "We need a plague. Or a war. Or ice cream. I like ice cream. Can we get some ice cream?" This sounded like a fantastic plan!

Eris took Mania's hand without a second thought - they were already joined in more ways than simple contact. Time and minds and blood and numerous other things that chaos couldn't put a name to, and that was saying something. Nothing physical about her meat suit really changed - it was just the atmosphere around her. Things seemed drastic and heavy, and all Eris wanted to do was dance through it.

Though she rolled her eyes at her cousin's request. Sometimes she was awfully childish, especially for someone her age. "No, I want to play with them," and was there an edge of a whine to her voice? Eris would never admit it, but she began to drag Mania towards the party goers, many of which were frozen in place. Upon Eris' approach they became rigid - painfully so, their muscles tensing up to the point of constriction and whimpers of pain leaked from their mouths.

"Besides, why do you want cold? We should warm this place up. Fire was always more fun."

Mania might have been humming - it was hard to tell if the tiny noise was coming from her or not. And her head was swaying a little like a snake to that tiny song that meant nothing and everything. Something old and that no mortal had ever heard. The lullaby of Khaos maybe...

The color of her eyes and her hair flashed to black quite suddenly as her gaze turned to Eris. In a surprisingly firm and steady voice though lacking emotion, she said, "Now is not the time to cause a riot, cousin. Lest our mortal forms suffer dire consequences." And with that strange firmness, she tugged Eris back away from the crowd, digging her fingernails into flesh with an unnecessary firmness.

But the talk of fire relaxed her to reds and golds and warm spots in her belly. "I like fire... it's so pretty and dances in my brain... I don't have a light. It went out with the rest of us."

Though Mania was her dear, dear cousin, Eris didn't take kindly to being pulled back and away from her playthings. She growled, the sound deep and dark and extremely menacing, which to a mortal would've been terribly frightening, but to another goddess? More whining. She was loath to admit it, but Mania had a point. A good point. They'd been trapped for so long, jumping from one form to another - it would not do to destroy them so quickly, not when she was finally gaining a hold on this one. Oh, the meatbag was fighting her, it seemed they always did, but Eris would have her way in the end. She always did.

Lifting her arm, she twirled her cousin as though they were dancing (Eris' favorite past time when she wasn't killing) and let her eyes glance about the room. On the far wall, she noted a red handle, labeled quite clearly with the words FIRE in large, white type. Well, if there was anything ever so clear to chaos, it seemed like that was their ticket.

"There's one, cousin. On the wall. Come, I'll show you," she exclaimed smoothly, pulling Mania along behind her like a ragdoll as she started moving towards the far wall with the tempting button that was begging to be pushed.
