Major apologies to anyone who’s gone through the lobby and the first floor in the past 15 minutes. I couldn’t resist a little run around on the beach. I promise to sweep up any sand I left in my wake. Just need to unpack and find the damn the thing.

Yes, unpack, as I’m very new here. It’s little weird to introduce myself on this thing. My general rule about social sites is to meet someone in person first before I click add but I’m game to try something new. I’m Cassie. I just moved into 107. What else do people sa I’m an oceanographer and yes, I’m still loving Shark Week. Or I was until I cut the lines and packed up my TV. I’m hoping it’ll be back up today. The cable guy’s got another 2 hours to show up. Fingers crossed.

Hmm. Anything el All the heavy stuff’s been taken in so I shouldn’t be making any more loud noises. Sorry to anyone we bothered earlier. The movers almost dropped the fridge. Not cool. If you want to come down and say hello in a more traditional matter, my door is wide open. Putting faces to usernames is always good.

Me too! I start on Monday although I think it's going to be a lot orientation and paperwork but still. What's it like? Really. You can tell me.

Sounds like a good plan. Wait! Bring a box cutter. This one's dull and I can't find a knife. The kitchen box was mislabeled.

Pretty much, that'll be the way it goes for the first week or so. It's great, actually. I love it there but I've always loved anything involving the ocean. I knew I wanted to be an Oceanographer before I could barely even say the word.

Box cutter? Got it. Anything else? How are you on food? I'm not much of a baker but I know that when you first move in, it's hard to whip stuff up in the kitchen.

You sound like me! The sea's always been my first love. I can't even begin to talk about how excited I am to start next week. Even if it's a little less water and a little more paper.

You're a lifesaver! Once we find the box that's actually kitchenware we should be set, although I'm low on food food. I pretty much only have boxes that begin with the word "easy" but I've got an iron stomach. If you need something that doesn't taste like cardboard we can try to get something delivered? Bring coupons!

Mine too, trust me. I'm a Navy brat so I've been surrounded by the ocean and boats my whole life. Don't worry, the water and paper will balance themselves out nicely once you get acclimated.

No problem! And, well, I can bring...welcome to the building lasanga or something? It'll last you a few days. And coupons. Gotta love those.

Have to admit that I'm a little jealous. I've been dying to travel but my studies have been keeping me here in the Pacific. Not that I'm complaining, but diving somewhere new would be nice. Any favorite spots from all that travel? By the way, I'm holding you to that. If I'm still wading through papers by my second week, I'm coming after you.

Building lasagna sounds fantastic. Do you mind punch to drink? All I have is punch, water and beer. I held back a few bottles from my movers since they almost broke my kitchen this morning.

You'll get there. Traveling is good for the soul. And I think Guam was probably my favorite spot. I could go on for hours about all of the places though. And my dad was away a lot too; he always brought back interesting things. Haha, alright, I'll hold you to coming after me if you're still buried in paperwork. I'll face the music.

No, I'll drink most anything. Not very picky! At least you don't live on one of the upper levels. They might have accidentally dropped a table or two through the floor.

I've heard tons of great things about Guam. But let's save all the stories for when you get down here. I think I've got hours of unpacking ahead of me. Let's see who cracks first!

I know, right? I think on a 1-10 scale of bad first impressions, appliances raining from the above ranks a solid 11. It would be memorable though.

I'm absolutely sure I won't crack first Alright, sounds good. I'll try to keep you interested and engaged with my colorful Navy brat stories.

Extremely memorable. You'd be known as the floor crasher or something. People underneath you would have to wearing helmets at all times.

You better. Cable guy just called and said to tack on another hour to my wait. Do you think this is a sign that my torrid love affair with the Discovery Channel should come to an end?

Floor Crasher is an awful nickname. I think I'll stick to New Girl and be glad when I'm forgotten and there's someone new to poke at curiously.

Oh really? This might all be a trick. Cable guys are notorious for being Satan's minions. But still, the Discovery Channel is kind of hard to let go of. That, and the History Channel, but that may just be me. And the Food Network. And the Game Show Network. I don't have a life

There ought to be someone new moving in soon. It's kind of a new and fucking weird building and people are moving in frequently so your being poked at days won't last long.

Nope, same here. I'm a sucker for documentaries, what can I say? And I've recently been shown the wonder that is the Food Network. I love it, even if I can't make most of what's on it. Oh! And I love AMC. Is this why the cable guy preys on me? Because he knows I'm so weak?

Excellent. I'm looking forward to the days when I can do the poking myself. Are the people here cool? So far everyone seems pretty nice.

The Food Network is great. That's where I get most of my inspiration. In fact, I may have ripped the lasanga recipe off of Alton Brown. Yeah, the satanic cable guys can smell your weakness and your addiction to AMC Originals like Breaking Bad.

Everyone I've run into has been pleasant enough. Some of the people I went to high school with have recently moved in as well so that's been mind numbing interesting.

My old roommate used to hate Alton Brown. Something about the way he talked, I guess. I kept saying I was watching it to learn but he wised up when he realized my cooking wasn't getting any better. I can't wait to watch Good Eats in peace. Now, I'm even more excited for this special building lasagna you promised. No pressure. ;) Demonic cable guy better come soon. It sounds like cheap beer isn't going to cut it against good lasagna and a box cutter.

That's crazy! I'm guessing like minds think alike. You guys all kept in touch after graduation? That's sweet.

Good Eats, oh man. Have you seen the one called Toast Modern? It's good stuff. Uh oh, it's on now! I am confident that the Mexican Enchilada Lasanga by Alton Brown, ripped off by Paul Halloran, the box cutter, and coupons for pizza will ease your worries and make you forget about demonic cable guys and being poked as the New Girl.

I guess they do! That's probably what got us all into trouble in the first place, especially Roy and Vince We kept in touch, or tried to. Shit, I am so afraid Roy is dead Why hasn't he cal It's nice to have people who put up with my oceanic rants, at any rate.

No! I guess I'm not as good of a fan as I thought I was. Enlighten me. Teach me your ways. When you put it all like that, demonic cable guys don't stand a chance.

Well now that your gang's all here it should be much easier to keep in touch. Especially with this forum networky thing. Yes, that's the technical term for it. And for the record, oceanic rants are the best kind of rants

Maaaaan. It was French toast, bruschetta, and Welsh rarebit which is basically cheese bread. Best ever. And I kind of love both cheese and bread, so really a classic episode for me personally.

True enough! Despite the fact that most of them won't talk to each other The forum networky thing is pretty handy. I've never lived in a place where there's one like that for all the residents. Well, I'll be sure to keep that in mind. I have a feeling you'll be subjected to plenty oceanic rants.

God, if I wasn't hungry before I sure as hell am now. And what's not to love with cheese and bread? Nothing. They're perfect. Why do I get a feeling we're going to get along swimmingly?

Yeah. I mean I'm used to social networks with people but nothing like, specifically for a group. It's different. Nice, though. At least there's not a section to put up embarrassing photos. And don't hesitate to lay those rants on me. I can take em.

Don't worry, Ripped Off Enchilada Lasanga is on its way! Cheese and bread are pretty much the definition of perfection, I agree. Swimmingly, hahaha, I shouldn't make an ocean joke Why am I so lame Maybe we could go out sometime It's probably too soon to ask that Fuck my LIFE I also agree that we'll get along swimmingly, agreeable like a fish and water?

...yet. Don't say that too loudly though, you may give nefarious people ideas about embarrassing photos where we can tag each other. Oh, and the same goes for you. I appreciate oceanic rants.

Vince. Got it. Everyone's been really friendly but names have been kind of dropping off these intros.

And don't worry about it! So far he's pretty funny. You might want to put all your high school yearbooks on lockdown though.

Yeah, it's weird, people tend to just go by their apartment numbers. It's pretty difficult to get a name.

He's always been good for a laugh. But thanks, believe me, the yearbooks will be guarded by an alarm system and a retinal scanner now that you've mentioned it.

Sure Anything you want It's no problem. I know that 205 is Simon and he's an artist. I have two of his paintings in my apartment - both are ocean scenes. The others I know - Sheila and Sarah - introduced themselves with their names, at least. I've talked to a couple other people but I'm not sure of their names. Vince lives with his girlfriend Honey Skye, I call her Skye, up in P3. I went to high school with both of them.

Maybe not but here's a hint: I was kind of a dork.

Thanks for the info! I guess I'll have to start asking for names back from here on out.

Well everyone's a little bit of a dork. It's high school! It's awkward stage central.
