Entry tags:!status: complete, ^date: november 13 2003, character: hermione granger, character: lavender brown

Characters: Lavender Brown & Hermione Granger
Setting: Starting at the Rising loaf, around 1pm
Rating: safe for work
Summary: Hermione runs into Lavender, it may or may not be awkward, they will eventually start discussing George's ides about a patronus message system.

Everything felt weird. And by weird she meant amazingly unsafe. Lavender felt like each step was one taken on frozen lake that might not be frozen through. It also didn't help that yesterday she had chosen to leave London rather than stay and defend. Instead, Lavender Brown ran home to Eastbourne to curl up in her childhood bed that her mum still maintained just in case Lavender ever wanted to come home. She didn't want to go home, not exactly, she just didn't have anywhere else to go.

At least the upside of going home was that when she came into work this morning she could bring a friend with her. Baby Girl might have not been allowed to poke around the kitchen, but she was welcome in the front of house. It was nice, it meant that once she was through for the day in the back she had someone to hang around with. Baby Girl didn't make it any safer, but it was a lot less lonely.

After finishing up in the kitchen for the afternoon, Lavender grabbed her bag and jacket before going out through the front to collect her dog. At the moment, Baby Girl was getting some attention from a family with a young child and rather than interrupt Lavender took and open spot on small sofa near by and waited for Baby Girl to spot her. The only downside to that was it gave her a few moments to consider how heavy everything really was right now - it was almost enough to make her sick.

It was probably for the better that Hermione didn't ask or comment about Michael because there was no easy way to describe what was happening with them. And truly she believed that no one outside of the two of them would really understand it. Sometimes she wasn't even sure they really understood what they were doing, but maybe that was okay.

"That's fine, I mean as long as your flat allows dogs and I mean Baby Girl is well behaved." The other option was to leave Baby Girl in her aunt and uncle's flat, but that sort of defeated the purpose of bringing her to London. And really, Lavender would feel even just a little bit better with familiar company, which would make things better for all of them. "And won't chew your furniture or bark or anything, I man she'll probably just want to find somewhere and take a nap."

Hermione nodded. "Yes pets are allowed, as long as she won't bother Crookshanks too much, though I imagine he'll perch himself on top of a book case and be perfectly fine. My flat actually has very large windows that open to a small garden, so if she likes napping in the sun I think she might enjoy that."

Hermione led the way out of Diagon Alley. "I live in the muggle part of London so my parents can visit me easier when there in town, but it's just a short walk." Soon enough they had arrived at the flat, and once the place was set up properly, they were able to begin their practice.
