Who: Justin Finch-Fletchley and Theodore Nott.
What: Just another day at Nature's Garden.
When: November 4, 2003; 10:00 AM.
Where: Nature's Garden, Diagon Alley.
Rating: It's likely not going to be very worksafe.

Last night was terrible, there wasn't any other way to put it really. Upon startling awake, Theodore took the last of his Dreamless Sleep Draught which had in turn knocked him out until the morning. When he had awoken for the day he had determined that the best plan was to at the very least maintain and continue to grow the ingredients of such a potion...just as it was probably the best way to contain the costs of a potion for every other night. He needed some of the ingredients for work anyways, so he was being rather sensible.

Theodore needed more fertilizer for that and the garden around Mynydd House. It was something of a tribute to how the way things were, or at least what he really remembered of it since it was so long ago. In any case, the garden would make for a good distraction later in the day as he didn't have work lined up. He walked up an aisle looking at various fertilizers.

Theodore still felt rather tense, and had let out a deep sigh when he was reminded. "It's not like a shag would make it any worse," he said aloud trying to remind himself more than anything else of the opportunity.

There was something that had really bothered him about the news as the dreams on their own just shook him up. Perhaps since it felt like additional proof that it was more. More than just a crazy old dream.

"Hey, I'll have you know that a shag with me will make anything better, even chocolate," Justin teased, but felt as if the moment was, if not had already slipped through his fingers.

His usual positive attitude tried to reassure him that it was all for the best, but he failed to agree.

With a sigh, Justin took the bloke by the hand, sat down on the mattress, and tugged to invite the wizard down with him. "So, I'm guessing you had a dream too. Did you want to tell me about it? I'm impartial, after all. Hell, I don't even know your name."

Which was fine with him, he didn't mind the 'shagging a stranger' fantasy.

Theodore hesitated for a moment, but the bed did look inviting enough and he wondered if he was in any condition to apparate at this point. And so he took a seat next to Justin and subsequently listed the facts off in a more matter of fact tone of voice. "Theodore Nott, Hogwarts, class of '98, Slytherin. I don't respond to Theo or Teddy as I'm not god or a stuffed animal. Pleased to meet you."

"And as for the dream--It was the whole drowning in one's own blood-from-having-one's-teeth-slowly-removed-type dream." He was somewhat surprised that he was able to speak of it aloud. He hadn't actually done so since dreaming such dreams. He felt his heart pounding as he paused, still composed, but the tension clear. He wished that he could've just ignored it all and returned to the regular programming but now that it was there...it just was there.

"I knew you looked a little familiar," Justin said after Theodore identified himself. "Justin Finch-Fletchley, Hufflepuff, class of '99." Technically it was the truth, but only because of that missing year. Otherwise, they'd have been in the same class. Probably had been in several, but since the two houses didn't exactly get along well, it wasn't surprising that he wouldn't have remembered.

He listened to the description with a wince of disgust. "That sounds disgusting, and horrible. Sounds like torture... that's what my friend said about his dream, that he was being tortured. Blood everywhere and everything."

He rubbed his thumb comfortingly over the back of the hand that he still held. "It couldn't have been easy, to experience that, even if in a dream."

It at least confirmed what he had thought earlier about the bloke being vaguely familiar. And it even explained why he wouldn't have completely recognized him.

"By all definitions it was. And for someone's amusement, even," he added looking down at the mattress, feeling distinctively disturbed. He knew of and heard various accounts of the sorts that served the Dark Lord. Something like this shouldn't be something that startled him since it was a reality at some point. But the stories were one thing and a visual was clearly another. He wasn't quite fond of blood to begin with, so the images of people being tortured just didn't sit well.

He took his other hand and placed it on top of Justin's hand. It was oddly comforting to have some sort of physical contact with someone--he felt at least somewhat grounded, at least.

"Did you see someone else in the dream then? Or hear, or feel them?"

He remembered Ernie saying something similar. This was beginning to feel all too wrong, and couldn't be coincidence, not with this amount of detail.

He felt the warmth of the extra hand on his, and felt that at least he was helping somehow.

"Someone was watching--I could only see her eyes, they were blue. And I'm not an occlumens, but I can tell she was enjoying herself." Theodore couldn't forget that part. Not for anything really.

"Did your friend see that? Someone watching?"

Justin nodded. "He didn't go into overmuch detail - and to be honest, I was kind of quick to chalk it off as nothing but a bad dream - but yeah, he did."

He reached out his spare hand and touched Theodore's chin, turning his face so that their eyes met. "If you want, I can give him your name. He's a Hit-Wizard, so he's a reliable sort, and can keep a secret. It might help to talk with someone who's going through the same thing."

The fingers moved from chin to forehead, brushing away a stray lock of hair before running down Theodore's temple in a comforting caress. "It's kind of spooky, you know? But... you should talk to him. I won't tell him unless you say I can give him your name, though."

Just as he wouldn't give Ernie's name unless his best mate said he could.

"Quite spooky." Theodore took a minute to consider the offer, breaking eye contact for a moment so that he could think. He barely knew whether he wanted to speak of it again, really. It was almost the same as reliving it, and he had already done so enough already.

"I think I'll be alright," he said after considering it. "I don't think I am interested in talking about it again. But if you do run into him, feel free to mention it."

Justin nodded, understanding the wish to keep such things to one-self, yet still thinking Theodore should speak to someone. He would definitely make a point to mention it to Ernie.

"Then let's not talk about it anymore," he offered. He moved in to kiss Theodore again, softer and gentler than before. With the kiss he questioned interest in something more, and offered simple comfort either way.

Theodore felt himself get drawn into a kiss. What better anaesthetic is there? He still felt as if there was a stone in the pit of his stomach, but it was only for now. Distractions did help. He moved his hand to caress Justin's jaw, and shifted over slightly to deepen the kiss.

A good shag wasn't going to solve the problem, but it wasn't going to make things worse. He was fairly sure that his reasoning was at least somewhat reasonable.
