*feels slightly like a fish out of water, walking into the House of the Fountain's main foyer* *knew the place was big, sure, it looked big from the parking lot—but it's also grand and pristine and all official-like on the inside* *in other words, pretty far removed from anywhere a small-town boy might otherwise frequent*
*is nothing but smiles and warm handshakes, though, as he's introduced to various employees (Pete at the front desk) (Elise and Jürgon over the coffee pot) (Toby, who already had an urgent question for Jackie and it's not even eight AM yet)* *does like seeing this side of his boyfriend, definitely, but all at once? it's a little overwhelming*
*shifts his duffel strap over his shoulder and mutters an aside to Jackie as they traipse down yet another long, brightly lit corridor lined with offices* Everyone's calling you 'sir'. I feel like I should've worn my good shoes? |
